Thank you for taking time to respond to my complaint…read more I disagree with you. I have documentation for everything that occurred during my experience with your company. 1. Although I agree, I did not purchase this recent Black Jeep Grand Cherokee from you, your records will show that I purchased my previous White Jeep Grand Cherokee from you - which by the way had the same engine failure and was traded in for the Black Jeep. This is why we decided to purchase the very expensive extended warranty when we purchased the black Jeep Grand Cherokee. Prior to this incident I had a reasonably good experience with your service department which is why I chose to use your dealership for our repair. I was not expecting to be without a vehicle for almost 6 months. Your records will also show that we purchased a Jeep Wrangler from you previously. We definitely will never purchase a vehicle from your dealership again. 2. I'm not sure what you mean by how you "attempted" to help us on multiple occasions. I still have the entire text thread from your technician. The only guidance we got from your company was to contact corporate directly to find out where the parts were. Stellantis was of no assistance, they just gave us the run around. I have all of the emails and voicemails that show I got the constant run around from corporate and from your company. It wasn't until I sent a certified letter to your higher ups that I was contacted by your management with no real resolution. 3. I completely understand that you had to work through the warranty company's requirements. However, that doesn't excuse how your company handled this entire situation. You absolutely do not offer loaner cars(which would have been a pretty reasonable solution), sure you offer discounted rentals($40 a day, but an unreasonable option at $1200+ a month, more than the monthly payment on the vehicle you had in your possession for over 5 months while I was still making payments on that vehicle to avoid defaulting on the loan), and no other options or alternatives were offered. 4. The lifters in fact did finally come in, and it was determined that a brand new engine was ultimately needed. We then had to wait longer for a new engine to arrive. When the vehicle was finally repaired, when we picked up the vehicle the oil light came on before we departed. My husband directly asked the technician if they put oil in the new engine, the tech brushed it off and laughed, to which he said of course we put oil in the engine, then proceeded to reset the oil light. We drove the Jeep from Westbrook to our home, and the next day to work when it started making unusual sounds in the engine. After checking the engine and the oil spigot for oil levels in the engine, the spigot was dry. I took a video immediately and I sent the video to your service department and immediately had the vehicle towed back to your service department. The jeep was returned the next day with no real explanation as to why there was no oil in the engine. 5. I'm not sure what significant portions of the repairs you absorbed since this repair was covered by the warranty. But I do know that my business suffered losses as a result of this vehicle being out of commission for such a long period of time. The cost of insurance, the cost of paying for a vehicle we had no access to, canceling clients, increased payroll, lost time chasing parts down for you and other expenses directly related to loosing access to the vehicle added up to a substantial loss. Instead of showing a little empathy or taking accountability by offering to make things right for the most recent experience we had with your company, your response is "well it's not our fault, we suffered losses too, we wish you well." You are taking zero responsibility for your company and the company you represent. It is unfortunate but after this experience and having owned many Jeeps over the years, we will never buy another Jeep again and we certainly will never buy any vehicle or service a vehicle with your company.

Drove it home, about 10 miles. It's smoking from under the hood. The next day I work on it for several hours. Thankful for you guys working to make it right but still not there yet.

I drove 40 min to get there and I will most likely keep making that drive for service. The dealership was very clean, as were the restrooms. Our sales person (Steve Gendron) was very attentive and not pushy at all. Very laid back. I would 100% recommend Berlin City.

Given how egregious my experience has been with them (on multiple occasions) I feel the need to warn others. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED- DON'T GET YOUR CAR SERVICED HERE!! First, I have had my car, a Honda CRV, inspected by them two years in a row and they have "failed" it both times. Invariably, I'm handed a laundry list of items that MUST be fixed to pass inspection totaling several thousands of dollars. I was incredulous that the car needed this work and took it to an independent mechanic. (The car was working well and receives its recommended routine maintenance without fail.) Both times, I took it to an independent mechanic for an inspection and both times it passed without any recommended repairs. When I discussed this with the independent mechanic what Berlin City recommended and that they did not pass it, he was speechless. He told me one of the items that was listed as mandatory for passing inspection by Berlin City (I gave him the paperwork) was not actually mandatory and he was in disbelief that they suggested replacing this part as it was not needed. I should have stopped going to Berlin City at that point as it is clear that they deceive as a way to exploit their customers to make money. But I did have the car serviced last year with them and a part replaced by them. They guaranteed it for one year (told me I had a one-year warranty). Before the year was up, the check emission light came back on and I took it back in for them to look at. Turns out it was the same part that failed again. Do you think Berlin City honored their warranty? Of course not! Why might you ask? After calling for several days in a row without a response from them (when the car was still under warranty), they waited until it was just past a year to call me back. At that point they told me the part was no longer under warranty! Unbelievable. These folks are as sleazy as they come. DO NOT TRUST THEM with your Honda service. They have lied/deceived me on multiple occasions!

Ultimately I decided I wasn't interested and John completely understood. Fast forward a few weeks and I emailed John asking if that vehicle was still available. Unfortunately it had been sold but I continued to work with John to ultimately purchase a certified pre-owned Volvo. I found Portland Volvo to be relaxed and not high pressure. They really want you to find the vehicle that's best for you. Because of schedules, my husband and I ultimately worked with John via email for about a week while the car was being detailed, we finalized the deal that Friday, traded in our car and left with a practically new Volvo. We'll be returning for maintenance, enhancements and future upgrades!

Do not buy a car from here, ESPECIALLY if you are dealing with an incompetent sales person named…read moreHeather. I purchased a car here in 2025, I live in California and I bought this car out of state and had it shipped to me. When I originally called and explained all of this, Heather told me that she's going to be very thorough and as transparent as possible with the condition of the car. She sent me a couple of videos that weren't that great of quality and when I asked for follow up pictures on certain things wrong with the car she assured me it was no big deal and sent me blurry photos to make it look like there was nothing there. I wanted a very specific car and there were very few available in the country at the time which is why I went with this dealership and ended up purchasing the car and shipping it to California. During this whole process, Heather told me that I needed every single paper notarized since I am out of state so I made an appointment at a notary and was about to pay $15 per signature (there were lots of forms so it would have cost me hundreds of dollars). A few days later the finance department called me and asked me why I haven't sent back the papers yet and I had to let them know that it's because I was waiting for my notary appointment. Gail was very surprised to hear that and said that I don't need to have any of the forms notarized... I am very grateful for that call because she saved me a ton of time and money. Heather then told me that I needed to put a $500 deposit in order to reserve the car which would go towards the final cost of what I'm paying for the vehicle. When I receive the paperwork I noticed that the $500 deposit was not applied anywhere. When I asked about it, Heather tried to tell me that I did not make any deposit and they were holding the car for me as a courtesy... Luckily I had the receipt and sent it to her, that is when she refunded me my $500 and didn't even apologize for the error. Unfortunately, it doesn't end there. When I got the car there were a lot of dents, marks, and scratches on the car that were not disclosed to me prior to purchase. On top of that, Heather sold me a car with failing tires that had chunks of the tires missing... I expressed my concern with the fact that they were trying to sell me a car with tire tread that was bordering on "yellow" (which is not a safe standard for tires) and asked if it's possible to get replacement tires, Heather assured me that even though they are on the low end of the "green" for tire tread, they are still acceptable to drive and will last me over 10,000 miles. A tire specialist in San Francisco told me these tires were failing, not wearing down since it's abnormal for chunks of tires to just fall off the tire. In the end, it sounds like Heather was just taking advantage of the fact that I am an out of state customer who wouldn't be able to see the car in person before purchasing. Very disappointing and shows how untrustworthy she is. Avoid if you can!

They put a brand new inspection sticker on it the day I bought it, and assured me that it was safe and had been throughly checked over. When I went to pick the car up, the gas tank was empty. I had to go back inside and ask them to fill the tank so I could get home. When I left the lot I immediately noticed that there was a noise coming from the steering. I took the car a few days later to a local mechanic to get looked at, and they identified that the whole steering rack was broken, and needed to be replaced. They had me get in contact with Bill Dodge, as they had illegally placed an inspection sticker on an obviously unsafe car. I was given the run-around by scheduling, ignored, and sent to voicemail boxes that are not checked. I finally got in contact with my Salesperson, who helped get me scheduled to have it fixed over 2 weeks later. Meanwhile, I was unable to drive the car. When I dropped the car off they assured me that it would be done that day, and that I wouldn't need a loaner, and when closing time rolled around I called to check, as I had heard nothing from Matt (the service manger) all day. He told me the car would not be done, and that he's probably have it finished the next day, which left me scrambling for a way to get to work. When I picked my vehicle up, I found that they had not taken the time to put up the windshield wiper blades correctly, and they were broken from being pulled up from the outside of the car. I had to replace those. I also found that my car was making a new rattling noise. When I reached back out to Matt, I was dismissed again, although he did state that they may have not properly secured the subframe of the vehicle. I am beyond frustrated at the complete negligence, incompetence, and rudeness I have experienced throughout this whole process. I will not be taking the car back to be fixed, as I am not sure that they are capable of doing so. I do not think that I am alone in my experiences, as when I went to buy the car, there was a brand new truck that was sitting out front missing a wheel, as the service team improperly affixed it to the vehicle, and the new owner lost the wheel down the road. Edit: They are claiming in their reply that Matt is working to fix the issue, and he is not. He only offered to pick the vehicle up if it is local, and only after I posted my review. Before that, I was brushed off entirely.
