I have found the best pet friendly hotel in the Monterey /Carmel area that offers 1) in room dining w doggy menu 2) private balcony/ patio 3) outdoor personal tub and in room spa and 4) fireplace. The staff is extremely friendly, the in-room service is on point and the room + view breathtaking. I won't kid you it is pricey but worth it. I imagine it would be a great place for families with kids but it was perfect for a single or couples getaway looking for R&R and pampering. The rooms are spacious and amenities (s'mores, lavendar collection, shuttles, infinity jacuzzi) made it a perfect stay for me and my pooch. read more

Stayed here the past weekend to celebrate my husband's birthday and our 1st wedding anniversary. When we check in, the receptionist mentioned that we had free breakfast included (60$ credit for 2 mornings ) which was totally unexpected so that was nice. We were guided to our room and were helped up to our Oak Suite. There was a bootle of champaign and note waiting for us in our room which was also unexpected and nice. During our two night stay we enjoyed the free s'mores at night under the stars. Also staff was very friendly when we brought our own wine to the jacuzzi at night, asking them to start one of the fire pits and asking for a bottle opener and wine glasses. We enjoyed some hikes around the grounds. Good thing they have shuttles! Place is clean and spacious. I wish I could have figured out how to work the heated floors in the bathroom and some what wish there was a little bit more privacy on our balcony due to having a tub outdoors. TL;DR: Save your money and go elsewhere. Extremely high prices for amateur service. Room: Had 2 rooms combined in 1 unit with 2 bathrooms. Outdoor tub. Great room with good amenities. I called housekeeping to let them know that there will be 6 in our party and that we needed additional items but I had to call repeatedly as our requests were not being fulfilled or fulfilled incorrectly. Seemed extremely disorganized. Everything else about the room was acceptable for the price. Spa: Facilities are not that great. I've seen better facilities at gyms. I was expecting more for the prices they were charging. Locker room style toilets in the middle of the changing area (also very tiny) and a tiny steam room which was not even working the time I was there. It was extremely disappointing. If you are looking for a "relaxing" spa experience, this is NOT the place. Spa service: I had a wonderful pedicure and the staff was great, but I expect that when you charge $108 for a pedicure. Pool: Pool area was nice but the service was pretty terrible. The staff are very nice but are confused and unorganized. They get orders wrong, forget orders, take over an hour for food and do not come to clean up any empty dishes. The pool area quickly looked messy with empty drinks everywhere. Need an extra towel? Good luck with that. Valet: Great service with the rides to and from your room to anywhere on the property. They seemed the most knowledgable and professional. The Lodge Restaurant: Had 2 meals - Lunch and Dinner. Food was good but the service needs work. We brought a celebratory bottle of expensive champagne and asked the server to put it on ice so we can have it. The server (who was very nice and sweet) opened the bottle, spilled a bunch of the warm champagne and poured it into our wine glasses. She was very sweet and had good intent but this is not what you expect at a resort like this. The manager was very nice and sent us a bottle of Prosecco for the mishap. I also asked questions about the menu to our server such as what vegetables were in the "Harvest" and she had no idea. Drinks were also very inconsistent. We would order the same drink but would get different versions of them. Everything seemed very disorganized. It felt like it was staffed by a bunch of students working a part time job. Front Desk: Again, nice staff but nobody was knowledgeable. We had erroneous charges on our hotel bill at checkout that took quite some time to resolve. Management: Ivan was rude, unhelpful, condescending and combative. He has no place in a customer facing role. read more

Booked a weekend get away with some girlfriends and was so unhappy with our overall experience. I can not believe we pay a premium price for everything and that is the experience we end up Spa- actual treatment was great but the facility was not. The steam room was broken and no one told us before hand. We all wanted to do the steam room. The pool side service was so slow and disorganized. Everyone they have in staff was very friendly but did know what they were doing. Our orders took over an hour. Rooms- the rooms were very nice. We had to called the room service a few times for more blankets and mugs. The shuttle service was nice to have available. Restaurant- Food was good. Case in point, this is from my daughter I am 9 years old and what I like about this place is that there are a lot of great places around.There are 3 swimming pools,bocce,table tennis,tennis,animals,restaurants,gardens,and clubs.The clubs are a lot of fun.In the clubs you can do things that you can not do just walking around by yourself , like you can feed the chickens. Came here with a work group and got to enjoy this fabulous venue for 5 glorious nights. I travel a lot and have stayed in hundreds of upper end hotels and this property easily ranks in my top 5 including place in Hawaii, Paris and Tuscany. The thing that most sets this place apart is the very large rooms with spacious sitting areas, large modern bathrooms, comfy beds (I had a king with a 2nd gas fireplace in the bedroom) and a massive deck all situated in a verdant hillside get away. The food at this place was excellent and they have a very nice pool, golf course, fitness center and hiking trails. The staff is extremely friendly and you don't have to worry about tipping because the $25/day resort fee covers that as well as free bottled water and snacks in the room. Their are wild turkeys roaming the property as well as a number of deer. All of them seek to be oblivious to the people on the trails or golf course. There is always a fire going near the pool and a basket full of marshmallows, graham crackers and Hershey bars so you can make some S'mores. They have a ton of lavender plants over the 500 acre property and send their "crop" off once a year to a local artisan who converts it into soap for the rooms - very nice touch. Overall this place is very restful and with the rooms situated in 4-rooms buildings, it felt like you had a lot of privacy and space. I'm already thinking about another visit. read more

I stayed here during an offsite event through work. One star for the view from my room but that's about it. On my first night, I was up until 4:30am because I kept hearing a small creature running around, which I assumed was a mouse. I finally heard it rummaging through my trash so I put a book on top of the trash can to trap it there. I was finally able to fall asleep but had to wake up soon after to get to my conference. Before I left the room, I wrote I note with $20tip requesting to get rid of the critter and to make sure they take care whatever they need to clean/fix the room. I notified 2 receptionists at different times to ensure I come back to my critter-free room. I came back to my room exhausted (9 hours in a conference room with only 2 hours of sleep) and was hoping to sleep through the night and sleep in a little bit the next day. I fell asleep around 10:30pm and woke up at 12:40am because I heard another critter running around. I called guest services and they said their maintenance guys were not available at night so they can't set up traps so they'll have to put me in another room to sleep in for the night. Both nights the little critter left droppings and what looked like pee (yellowish liquid) on my table. This is by far the grossest and the most horrible thing I've ever experienced in any of my hotel stays. I am beyond exhausted and disappointed. I'm even more surprised by how unfazed the workers were in handling the situation like it's a common type of complaint they receive. I hope we don't come back here for any of our future conferences because I would really hate to stay in their infested rooms again. read more

I enjoyed staying here for a long weekend with my boyfriend. Totally pampering and cozy room, and service was just excellent. We stayed at Ranch suite, which was ... yes, bigger than my apartment, thank you..... We had this huge jacuzzi bath tub with separate shower, from the skyline natural sunlight streams down to the tab. There were fireplace and TV in both living room and bedroom. I am not a golfer but I was totally fine with just staying in and enjoyed the place. It was not crowded at all while we were there, and there were more wild turkey population than people in the resort. Beautiful landscape throughout the property, and you could get to call for the golf cart to drive you around! I was pretty thrilled to be able to drive the cart to take my bf to hit some balls at the driving range in the resort :) On site restaurant/bar looked nice but we decided to explore other options in the Carmel Valley village, where were many little local places to eat at, and they were just a short drive away. We stayed at this place a few years ago to ring in 2006. We had a very relaxing time. All the rooms are suites and my boyfriend booked us a corner suite. Ours had a living room area, two fireplaces and a king-sized bed. We had a private deck that wrapped around the suite. Unfortunately, we were having a mini-monsoon so we couldn't really enjoy the deck. All the storms - oh yes, there was more than one - made it nearly impossible for us to enjoy the hiking, tennis and outdoor stuff the hotel and Carmel had to offer. We did, however, have about a half a day's worth of semi-sunny weather. We went on the 17 Mile Drive from Monterey back to Carmel. It rained on and off but we saw some beautiful scenery. Five stars for an absolutely beautiful room and resort but two stars for the crappy concierge service we received (this gal, maybe green in her job, had no suggestions of what to do during the many storms. Umm, nothing? Absolutely nothing to do? Yahhh, that didn't go over well with me.) Solid four stars. Be prepared to kick down quite a bit of cash (although from the other reviews, it sounds like good deals are out there!)for a good romantic getaway. read more

We had just one night in CBTS and we chose the Carmel Valley Ranch Resort as my wife had rewards points with their new ownership as well as a recommendation from her old boss. We arrived after dark and were nicely greeted by the staff. Tracy had made mention it was our anniversary, not only did they upgrade us to a really nice suite, but there was also complimentary bubbly and chocolate covered strawberries... can you say Sold! My wife travels alot and she was very impressed on multiple levels. Room were big, clean and very up to date. Again the staff was awesome. The room service was handled by the same gentleman who assisted with our bags. Our only reservation... we weren't there long enough to enjoy it more. read more

Last, consideration by management. If your resort is under construction. Post it on your website and tell your potential guests before they book. Transparency. I said short. So I'm done. Oh, hell this place was NOT what we expected. After reading other reviews and seeing so many five stars, it seems odd that there is a sprinkling of 1 and 2 star reviews among them. These, it seems are the legitimate reviews. Below are some of our highlights. Firstly, we requested early check in. ( So we could freshen up and go wine tasting on our day of arrival). Check in is 4pm. We rang at least 3 times prior to arrival and were constantly told they could accommodate us and in our last call (2.30 pm on day of arrival) we were told after the rooms are "cleaned" to their high standards they are then inspected. We finally had access to our room at 4pm. So that was an exercise in total futility. Which brings up the cleanliness issue itself. Our room was NOT of resort standard by any stretch of the imagination. For example, there were wrappers and trash strewn over our balcony area, cobwebs smothering the upper parts of the hammock, one bedlight was completely missing form its socket. Clearly that inspection must have been a doozy. This was all apart from some other things we noticed in our suite, such as some of our towels being almost threadbare and fraying, lumpy pillows, a huge stain on the seat of the desk chair ( which also seemed to have lost its stuffing many a day ago) and not even one bottle of water within the room. BRING YOUR OWN WATER PEOPLE! Another issue are the dining options. You pretty much are held hostage once you enter this place and unless you bring your own food in, you're screwed for any other than their limited spendy options. There is no way you could get outside food delivered in to this place. Our biggest complaint would definitely be the tennis courts. My husband and I both play tennis and as they advertised having both hard and clay courts we decided this would be perfect as we rarely get to play on clay courts. Prior to arriving and over a matter of weeks we contacted them in regards to whether we needed to book courts and time in advance. We were told that it was advisable but we could probably do it when we arrived as they had 10 or so courts (We specifically inquired about the clay courts as we sensed they would popular and they only had 2 of them.) The night of our arrival it was raining so we decided to visit the tennis centre and see what condition the courts were in and then we could book a time as well. We spoke to a person in the reception area and she gave us directions to the courts, even telling us all the courts were located in the same area. It was already dark so we decided to have another look first thing the next morning. There were no clay courts. On google maps they can be seen but obviously they have been replaced with hard courts. it seems they forgot to tell the staff and change their advertising accordingly. Yikes. read more

We celebrated our anniversary with love and honey at the beekeepers activity! It was an interesting and fun experience! Carmel Valley Ranch is the ideal place to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The resort is spread out over a pristine 500 acre property. It is inland and is about a 20 minute drive from the main village. It is isolated and probably not recommended for people looking to explore the town. The property features a golf course, hiking trails, vineyard, and organic garden. Rooms are in clusters and spread around the property. Fortunately, they provide shuttles or golf carts to take you from one place to another. The main lodge is in the center of the property. The property is on a hilly area and walking to and from places can be challenging. The parking lots near the rooms tend to fill up. It is better to take the shuttle around the property instead of using your own car. There are various room styles and they are set up in small buildings, so you don't get much surrounding noise. The rooms have a modern rustic decor that fit the Carmel vibe. The bathroom has heated floors and the gas fireplaces are programmed to turn off after a set period of time. The bed was plushy and comfortable. It made relaxing that much easier. Our room (I think most rooms) had a phenomenal view of the property. These features make the rooms feel like they were designed with luxury in mind. The recreational facilities are located near the property entrance. The gym isn't impressive, but you would only need it if it's a rainy day. There are several hiking and walking paths you can enjoy instead. They also have several pools, bocce courts, tennis courts, and a half basketball court. The hiking trails were my favorite feature of the resort. The trail map provides a clear guide of each hike's length and distance. Each trail is only a mile or two and you can combine them for a longer trek. Some of the trails have a steep incline, but the views at the top are worth it. The property does have a lot of animals that roam freely, including deer and turkey. They are friendly, but still be cautious of them. We are at the main restaurant for lunch and dinner. Unfortunately, we didn't have the greatest service at those meals. The Carmel Valley Ranch Resort is absolutely beautiful and serene! The rooms are more like cozy apartments rather than luxurious suites, but they are simply sublime to stay in. The vibe is very relaxing and the view was spectacular, at least from the Bluff Suites. The bathroom is huge and even the soap has a great aroma. Coolest thing is the Ranch's dedication to energy saving. You actually put your hotel card into a slot by the door to turn on the light. If you're leaving your room, you just take your cards out and the light turns off. The top outlets plugs can run without the card, so you can still charge your electronics when you leave, too. Oh, and there are a handful of deers that walks along casually in around the suites and makes for a great photo op. They are so used to having people around that they don't get scared or nervous when you walk by or stop to take a photo of them. read more

What a lovely stay we had at Carmel Valley Ranch! Their vast and well maintained grounds (500 acres) has so much to offer for everyone. Among the many activities we did during our short stay included hiking, yoga, swimming and hanging out in the jacuzzi which is overlooking the vineyard and the golf course. Did I mention that they have smores for everyone every night from 6pm till everyone is gone?! Shhh I got one every while we were here. Ohhh be sure to say hello to the wild deers and turkeys exploring around especially in the evening. Its too bad we are not into golf because CVR has a beautiful course too. We wish we had more time here because we wanted to visit organic garden, go on for a horse ride and try archery. As for our room, it is bigger than usual. The balconly itself is huge while the electric fireplace is cozy. Add the relaxing scent of lavender on your skin from the lotion, shampoo, soap and conditioner guarantee you will have a good rest. We can seriously stay without living the Ranch for at least 3 days but Carmel, Pebble beach and Monterey are just too beautiful to miss. Overall, CVR is a beautiful place to rejuvenate. Wow. Just wow. What a beautiful place to be. We booked our stay direct through them but at a "Cyber Monday" discount. By reading other reviews, it appears that they do a lot of deals - so be on the lookout there. I will say though, whatever you pay, it will only be a fraction of the cost of your stay, since nothing in this area is particularly cheap - but, like many things in this area, it will be so worth it, with lasting memories and unbeatable serenity to go home with. The ranch is very private, and sprawling. It has a golf course and many buildings. There is a kids and family area at the bottom of the hill, leaving the main lodge a relatively quiet, adult-oriented place. The grounds are spacious enough that you see people, but you don't really hear them coming or going. A huge plus! And the amenities...Oh, the amenities. The outdoor tub was the single best experience I have had at a hotel ever. Something about bathing outdoors, with birds chirping, wind blowing, leaves rustling...It was perfect. The robe and slippers they provide were comfortable as all get out, and the bed I flopped on allowed me to sleep like I haven't slept in so, so long. Do what we did and stop at Lush, the high-end, earth-friendly soap company, in downtown Carmel by the Sea, and treat yourself to a few bath bombs and lotions and scrubs, and viola- you've got yourself a spa experience when you get back to your room. We did not take advantage of the activities, food or beverage here at the Ranch. There's a ton of options downtown, and to be honest I felt like some of the activities were a bit pricey. We did hike around on our own, and that was a lot of fun. We would've played tennis or gone for a swim but we didn't have time. And golf, well, it just wasn't in the cards this weekend. I'm staying here as part of a three day company offsite meeting and this is one of the most fabulous offsite settings I have been to in my many years of offsite meetings. The views are top-notch the suite has a fireplace and an outdoor soaking tub in addition to the spacious bathroom. The catering at the meeting is absolutely fabulous. I hope to be able to come back here with my family at some point. Another one of the highlights are the wonderful walking trails that are on the expansive property winding through vineyards and the nearby hills. A great place to walk off the calories! read more

My husband, my 2 dogs (Ginger + Wasabi), and I had a pretty wonderful time during our stay in a Hilltop Garland Suite. The room was comfortable, it had 2 fireplaces that kept us warm and our dogs were welcomed with cushy beds, bowls and treats. We had a great view from our balcony, the bed was cozy, and I felt rejuvenated after our stay. I love that CVR makes the extra effort to make dog owner's happy. When we brought our dogs to eat breakfast with us in the lodge restaurant, the staff provided us with a menu for the dogs and brought them a water bowl without us having to ask. Our dogs really enjoyed the freshly-baked biscuit that the chef cooked up for them! And although the menu is very over-priced, we enjoyed our human food too. The hiking trails were beautiful, peaceful, serene. Take your pup on the Huff N Puff trail! We had an issue with the way CVR billed us for our stay and felt very misled by the discrepancies we found in our folio compared to the advertised (and confirmed) rates. It took a few escalated calls, but my husband just spoke to Ms. Mansard, the Director or Revenue, about our complaints and she very helpfully did everything she could to rectify the situation and make sure that we felt better about it. Although I appreciate her, I am disappointed that this billing issue even happened to begin with and that we had to put in the work to get it fixed. It puts a taint on the experience we had there. I would certainly recommend a stay at CVR, but make sure you get that folio and check that you were charged correctly. read more

Last year we seriously considered cancelling our spa membership. We were continually frustrated with the pool service. The staff was not personable, never around, and took orders wrong. What a difference from last year. Clearly, management has improved greatly. Our experiences now exceed expectations. Caitlyn and Kenya have greatly increased the service for the Pool area. Both are very attentive, personable, and truly care that we have a great experience. The service now challenges some of our favorite hotels. My wife and I now look forward to our time by the pool. I cannot say enough nice things about this hotel. My family and I were evacuated from Santa Barbara during the recent fires and we found refuge at the Carmel Valley Ranch. The staff was incredibly welcoming. They gave us a very reasonable rate and were very accommodating for our family of 5 plus our super active Portuguese water dog (who absolutely loved the resort!). In fact, we were joking that this really is a "people friendly dog hotel". From the minute you check in there are dog treats available, and the entire staff was welcoming of the dog. The resort facilities are fantastic. My family and I spent a lot of time at the river ranch. They had tons of fitness classes that we enjoyed including yoga, spinning and barre. My only minor criticism is that it wasn't 100 percent kid friendly, in the sense that the main pool next to the lodge was unavailable for kids younger than 16. Similarly, they needed to have a parent with them in order to take the shuttle to the river ranch. Having said that, the staff was always very friendly and never put out by having kids around. We enjoyed hiking trails in and around the resort. The natural beauty of the Carmel Valley Ranch is impressive. We also enjoyed the food. The ingredients were fresh and there was enough on the menu to keep everybody happy. Although the prices were a bit much, they are in line with similar caliber resorts. I'm sorry that it took a fire in our hometown to force us to go to the ranch, but this resort truly defines the definition of making lemonade out of lemons! We hope we can return in the future! I stayed here last year and had a great time. We booked suite, upgraded through Amex FHR, and had a lovely stay. Food was good *for resort style food, property is beautiful, and staff was super helpful. This year, however, we stopped again on our way back to Los Angeles, and didn't have the same experience. Not to say it's bad per se, staff still great, property still beautiful, but it is just so overpriced. Booked everything exactly the same. Notable price increase. Received the same upgrade through FHR. This room wasn't nearly as nice as last year's. Had I known that the room we had this year was what I was getting for $900/nt after tax and fees, honestly I would have booked elsewhere. The room was big, but just not nice. Felt old, but refinished. Small little deck with no view, last year we had this wraparound deck with a beautiful view. Never did get hot water.. warmish, but we all just decided to wait and shower at home. Room service was really slow and food was okay but again, overpriced for I would have said something, called down, but we were only here for a night so we didn't want to spend any of our time getting anything remedied. read more

I love visiting Carmel Valley Ranch. I've spent the night there last year and enjoyed the huge outdoor soaker tubs and had a great dinner at the restaurant. Last month my husband and I had lunch there and enjoyed the spa. I had a fantastic maternity massage from Megan and a great facial from Kristina. Not only are the people great in the spa but the products are amazing too. The sheets they use in the massage area are so warm and soft and the facial products are really good. We just stayed at Carmel Valley Ranch in a Ranch king suite and it was beautiful and spacious and clean with the large shower having excellent water pressure. It was very quiet and we received good service everywhere at the resort ...from check in to valet to the spa and restaurant and pool. Little snacks were served around the pool such as frozen grapes and popsicles, what a nice touch. The rooms are spread out pretty far from the main lodge and restaurant but you can call for the on-site shuttle to pick you up or take your own car not a big deal and it does add to the private/close to nature element of the rooms. Products in room are nice quality as is the food at the restaurant. Also the little market in the Lobby serves great iced oat milk lattes. We saw several deer on property and thoroughly enjoyed the relaxing vibe throughout the property. read more

Very nice resort! I had the Garland Suite which is spacious and tastefully remodeled with wrapped around balcony and view of the valley. Had the wine tasting with the Sommelier (Dave) which was worth it. He introduced us to some the local wines in the Monteray area. The nature walk in the morning was complementary, which the guide led us through the property and some good trails. I highly recommend the Carmel Valley Ranch. read more

We arrived at 4:00pm after being told that our room would be ready at 4:00pm. On arrival, we were told that the room was not ready and told to wait. 5:30pm and no news. I had to go and request. After 10 minutes of an uncomfortable situation I had to drag out of them a room. Seriously I paid for a room and they don't want to give me a room. When we arrived in the room, we knew this is not the room we reserved, we saw the photos and this room is different. Also, the room was not clean. Hair in the sink, dirt on the floor. We had to clean the room. This is a period of a pandemic, we have a small child, the staff really did not care at all. We had to do the job of cleaning staff. Then all day, all night we had the noise from upstairs. Party, pounding on the floor. We could not get any sleep. I was only grateful that it was just 2 nights, then we could go home and get some rest. For over $1000 a night, this was clearly the worst hotel we have ever stayed at. Then when I checked out, the staff just could not care. Could not even apologize. My family and I travel a lot worldwide so we know hotels and we known when a hotel is not being managed well. Carmel Valley Ranch manages to be the ideal serene romantic getaway while also being amazing for kids of all ages. It's a beautiful property with beautifully minimal, spacious rooms complete with breathtaking views from the balconies where you can enjoy your own private outdoor soaking tub alongside your fireplace which is dual sided both outdoors and indoors in to the bedroom. The service is great all around, with the golf carts promptly available to whisk you wherever you'd like to be- which our toddler son may have thought was the best part of all! The restaurant is uniquely as delicious as it is pretty, utilizing lots of fresh goodies from their own farm. Speaking of the farm, they have so many great activities set up for kids including meeting and feeding the animals. There's also a great, seperate kids pool alongside the kids club where they have more fun goings ons like a nighttime outdoor movie theater setup complete with popcorn and s'mores. Fear not if you are enjoying this resort sans children. This place is generous with the s'mores for al also offering a great setup by one of the more serene adult pools. There's a second adult pool as well close to the fitness center should you want even more quiet, along with more fun things to play with including tennis, basketball, corn hole etc all in this beautiful serene setting. I could keep going on, but basically this place is great. It's run well with a team that upholds service standards we all wish every resort did. read more

This place sent us a confirmation for stay 2 nights and 3rd night is free. At the time for the bill, they insisted on charging for 3 nights. Unbelievable treatment after being an annual guest for the last 6+ years. We'll be going to Bernardus in the future. read more

Didn't really stay here that long and wasn't really able to take advantage of their extensive facilities, but I do have a couple basic comments. Just had a fairly basic Suite which was shared with 2 others. -Staff is great, got an upgraded view. All very friendly. -The bathroom is gigantic, but my complaint is that the giant bathtub doesn't have jets. -The bedroom had a balcony with a great view of the valley. My only complaint was the fireplace didn't work. I wasn't planning on using it, but I wanted to try for kicks. -Nice coffee machine with tea and espresso pods. Only two packs of white sugar though. Come on, give me fancy brown sugar with my fancy coffee! -The buffet breakfast is a little better than average. It's $24 which includes coffee and juice, which would be $9 for both. It's probably worth it if you're super hungry, but otherwise I'd order off the menu. Pros: -Awesome staff. -Great facilities. -Spacious suites. -Big TV in the living area and bedroom. Much larger than fancy Hotels like the W, ect. Cons: -A bit pricey (not THAT bad). -Some stuff didn't work or was seemingly missing (hot tub bath jets!!!!). read more

My husband and I got married earlier this year in February but due to work (and life), we never got to go on a honeymoon. So we chose to spend our first Christmas as husband and wife at Carmel Valley Ranch. We decided to consider it a mini-honeymoon and a one year anniversary getaway (since that's right around the corner). Even though there were a lot of families and kids (I can only imagine how crowded it must get during summertime), we managed to find quiet corners to spend time together. We took many enjoyable long walks around the beautiful, expansive and well-kept grounds. We enjoyed the facilities like the gym, the fitness classes and the spa. The balcony tub was a hit with my husband (it was too cold for me). I had the most surprising and best massage from Daura (her technique was slow, deliberate and effective). The time we spent here was rejuvenating. We had such a great time, we got a gift certificate for my husbands parents so that they can visit too. As for us, we had a memorable time and hope to return again with our family! read more
