Someone really needs to reach out to Jon Taffer of Bar Rescue to help Carmellas Pizza Grill out. They need John desperately! The slices of pizza are too small for the price, and once you add a topping or two to the slice, it really puts it. I regretted not going to Luigi's which is in the same vicinity --Walmart shopping plaza -- to get more bang for the buck! The pasta dish and salad also leave a lot to be desired for. Seems like the cook just threw it together. The filtered water from the bar tastes, stale, and like it has a film on it. Not fresh. The prices for the alcohol drinks are reasonably priced, so I guess if you gotta pick your poison -- food or drink -- you're better off going with the drink! read more

We found this place on a whim looking for pizza late at night. The servers were very friendly and made great recommendation. They never complained about us coming in a little late. The pizza and wings were top notch. The atmosphere was very relaxed and chill. We will definitely be back and will be more than happy to take the hour drive from Salisbury. I've been to Carmella's in fort mill and love it! Recently visited the S Tryon location and the guy at the register big guy black hair in a man bun must hate his job. Absolute knob rushed me to order and told me items weren't available at 9:30 when the sign says kitchen is open until 10:30. No hospitality at all. Not welcoming at all. Won't be returning. Carmella's has very good NY style pizza and they even sell it by the slice! They also have many salad and pasta options! I have eaten here and gotten takeout/delivery many times. The food is always spot on! The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is that it more of a bar environment and there are actually places in Charlotte that do NY pizza better. That being said, it's quite the popular bar scene too. They pour strong drinks and have drink specials often such as $1 Bud, PBR etc. All in all, a great place to relax and have a good time while enjoying great food as well! Cheers! read more

Quick food with simple service. Some of the pepperoni pizza I've ate in the south charlotte area. And the ambiance reminds me of being up north so it's very homey with a neighborhood feeling. read more

So I love their wings but they can improve in so many ways. I tried calling in to place an order because I know it takes them a long time to make your order. I called and was immediately placed on hold. I held for minutes and then called back. I got a busy signal every time I called back for over an hour. I was at work and was trying to place an order so it would be ready when I arrived and I wouldn't have to wait there. When I got there I notified them their phone wasn't working and asked did they stop picking up the phone. The togo cashier told the bartender the phone wasn't working and he stated good!! I was so astonished by his comment I said no not good for customers trying to call in orders. He later tried to clear up the comment but I was threw!! I asked the togo cashier how long for an order and she asked me to place the order and said it would only be about 20 minutes but she would confirm after placing the order. Then she told me 40 to 45 minutes thus the whole reason I wanted to place the togo order in the first place. No one tried to even help the issue. It was basically tooo bad for me. I really tried to order from somewhere else but I really wanted their Barablo wings. I hate to say this but I don't see me going back. However their wings and ranch are amazing!!! Tried Carmella's while visiting from out of town. Went for lunch and was recommended the hot Italian sub which was delish and the waffle fries were very good with seasoning on them. Son got a pepperoni pizza which he enjoyed and I even snuck a piece and it was delicious. I would have give 5 stars but the waiter got side tracked chatting up some customers and I ended up refilling my sons drink and getting him eating utensils. read more

For pizza, I'm going to be at Luigi's but today I tried someplace different. Carmella's for a meatball parmesan sub with waffle fries. The fries were limp. The bread had a texture that suggested a microwave rather than a toaster. The cheese was nicely melted, the sauce was bland and the meatballs were tasty but a little rubbery. Sorry, guys. honestly, i am a little surprised this spot only has 3 stars. we got carryout for dinner when in from out of town recently--pizzas, wings, and greek salad. i am a foodie and believe me when i say this was thee BEST pizza i have had in a loooooong time! and bae-bae, the house made italian dressing for the salad was AWESOME, AMAZING, all the things! i was even dipping the pizza crust down in it! i really need them to sell it by the bottle because i would have brought at least two home. i heard the wings were tasty too (i didn't have any). customer service was great as well. we live in Atlanta and plan to take a trip back to Charlotte soon. Ordered delivery, waited an hour and a half. I finally called and they said it was waiting to be picked up. The pizza was sitting there for a hour! They said I had to cancel my order to get a refund and then order a new pizza and pay for the new pizza. We tried this location for lunch during our work break. I really want to love it but I just don't. We got a few slices and a drink with waitress service. The pizza was ok, nothing special. The service was definitely not great. We weren't really paid attention to and there was a total of 3 tables with customers. Two pizza slices warmed up took about twenty minutes. We had to get up and ask about the pizza, we were running out of lunch break. It finally came out, we finished up and waited again for the check. The waitress took off the two slices as a comp for waiting so long. I appreciated the gesture but all I want is to eat lunch and get back to work late. Maybe it was an off night but not the first time the service was slow. Maybe we will try another location or another time of day. read more

If you're looking for decent food for a decent price, this is your place. Their menu is huge. They have everything from pizza and pasta to heros and pitas. I've had several dishes on the menu and I haven't been overly impressed with any of them. This time I got a chicken pita and it wasn't bad. I've tried their Mediterranean pasta before which is ok but very greasy. My favorite thing that the serve is the seasoned waffle fries. Last time I was there we had particularly bad service as well. Sarah is absolutely amazing, the best bartender and waitress here. The food is great here. I've been coming here for over 8 years now and the food has always been on point. There is nothing on the menu that I've tried that I did not like. I highly reccomend the barbalo wings. Normally they have great food deals but right now, in the midst of the pandemic, there isn't food deals, but that doesn't mean the food isn't affordable. I ordered a large pizza, a meatball marinara, hero, and a eggplant Parmesan hero,and three cannolis. My bill came to approximately $79. The bill wasn't a problem when it was delivered I did not receive my cannolis. I called the restaurant spoke to a woman who said she was the manager on duty. She refused to give me a refund for the cannolis, or to send someone with our cannolis. She went as far as to say that the delivery person had a child in her car and that they probably ate them and it was not the restaurants fault I found this extremely unprofessional. I asked them to refund me for the cannolis. They argued with me for approximately 20 minutes on the phone and told me I could call Tony who was a higher up manager the next day but that he probably wouldn't do anything about it either. After arguing for over 20 minutes, she stated they would refund me for the cannolis, and they never did and the food certainly was not worth all this trouble I would not recommend this restaurant. read more

Hello friends, Stopped by here for a quick drink (cousins birthday) before shopping at BiLo. It's the old Bellacino's Grinders. They changed the inside a bit. Kinda weird tho. About 10-15 (4 seat) tables to the right. 1 long booth that has 2 tables to them. The bar.... Well that's kinda cray. It's one 5 seat bar in front. You get to the second bar by going into what one may consider the kitchen. We saw a few ppl sitting there. At 1st we thought they were employees because of the location of the bar. Very nice servers. I think they were the owners. (Maybe sisters. Idk) we didn't order any food but noticed a guy in the Val Hand Tossing pizza dough. And a family dressed in church clothes eating. Customer service however, isn't the best I wasn't expecting the best customer care just if I order 20 wings I get 20 wings not 15 and not to be basically called a liar when I call back in about it. I was told both cooks counted my wings and they both counted 20 yeah ok since when are both cooks double counting wings and was told If I wanted to drive back up there for 5 wings then go for it and that they couldn't credit my card or put a credit on my name for their miscounting!
