I've given Carnation Auto Spa on Lemmon Ave a fair shot (several, actually) and my verdict? It's hit or miss. They offer detail, hand wash and quick wash/drive thru services, with the option to sign up for a monthly membership offering unlimited washes. I'm new to the neighborhood and was coming from an area with a fantastic membership car wash--so the difference is noticeable. Most recently, my car still had some dirty spots hanging out post-wash, and the tire shine I paid for? It looks like they totally forgot it. I paid $25 for the Super Shine and had to do touch-ups on the tires and car body myself. I have a white car, which does have the benefit of "hiding" some types of dirt. But, certain grime can be more noticeable e.g. mud, road dust, etc. To say the least, it wasn't the best service experience at a car wash, but it also hasn't been the worst...just "middle of the road". Also worth noting: if you need to vacuum your car yourself, good luck finding a spot. The lot is tight and fills up fast, especially on weekends. So, you've got to show up early or be prepared to wait. Bottom line: I won't be signing up for a membership. It's just not consistent enough to earn that kind of loyalty. Here's hoping they tighten things up because the location is good. In the meantime, I'm still searching for an alternative that has the quality and value I need. Honestly, I was looking for a hand car wash place for months now and I have to say every other place. I've looked at review wise. The reviews were terrible. I don't just trust anyone with my car I had called on the weekend to see if they took walk in for a hand car wash since on the website it doesn't list weekend appointments. Someone text me back after I called the main line and told me that yes they take walk-ins on a first come first serve basis and they are open every weekday till 8 PM so I didn't hesitate on the following Tuesday to drive after work which would've been after 5 PM in the middle of traffic hour In Dallas . I arrived a little after 6 PM and they were so nice to take me in the gentleman told me it was gonna be 45 minutes and it was exactly 45 minutes. They had me wait in the customer lounge, which I have to say is very clean nice and cool. Has a TV workstations and free bottled water. I have to say I am super happy. They literally cleaned every nook in my car and my car looks brand new. I can't wait to be back and I will be recommending everybody. I know to come here. read more

Very disappointed... Went there this morning at about 1145am and was told that it would take 45minutes for a carnation wash inside and out. Which is what I usually come in for. I get to the detail area about 1150am and 1215 they had already taken two other vehicles that came behind me. I inquired about the wait and the blue shirt guy said let me see what's going on. 5 minutes later I said I really just need a refund at this point since I have to be at work at 115pm. He said let me see and proceeded to ignore me. I walked back to the front entrance and requested a refund; he said he would see what's going on he radioed to see what the wait time and why did they take two cars in front me. The guy said not sure why, but no one knows what's going on " it's just disorganized today" he told me he would have a manager call me. Which hasn't happened, no call from anyone. He processed my refund he said would probably take 24hrs to appear back on my credit card. I was really disappointed on the lack of concern or customer service provided today. Falsely lied to about a deal for $11 for a basic wash and told either way you pay me $11 for one wash then get a free month. Then my card was falsely charged $22 for a month after the 30 days ended. Never did I sign a paper, or agree to a membership. I contacted the manager and drove by in person who wanted all the details in the world, denied a refund, and make the process impossible. My fiance and I will never spend another dime at car nation and will happily wash our car at Zips across the street and encourage you to as well! Chaos. We bought the $28 service which is supposed to include wheel cleaning, drying and polishing. After the wash, staff directed us move our cars somewhere convenient for them to wait for them but then forgot about us. After a lot of waiting around, they did a few half drying wipes and left a bunch towel streak marks on my car. They forgot the wheels. I think my car looked better and less streaky before the wash. I came back after a road trip, so the car was dirty and I needed cleaning. I paid $55 for the exterior and interior cleaning. Overall, they cleaned my car well. From a far, my car is looking shiny and refreshed. However, upon closer inspection, my car still had dirty spots here and there. On the exterior, there were small streaks, tar, and other dirty spots that are hard to spot from far away. There was one stubborn tar spot on the car that they said they couldn't clean, but I was able to clean it myself when I asked for a towel. As for the interior, there were still dirt at the bottom of the car doors from my road trip. They were kind enough to clean most of spots out when I pointed them out, but they seemed rather annoyed. It also seemed like they were glaring at me as I was driving out the driveway... I don't think this service was worth $55. I would probably recommend getting the cheapest option and then hand clean the rest of the smaller details yourself. read more

The layout is terrible. Vacuum spots are never available after the drying station. There is no waiting space for the vacuums. The people running the car wash put zero effort into washing your car or even try to get all areas of your car before the machine. read more

I paid $55 for inside door, floors, mats,console, dash, tires, and wash etc and when I got home I had to go over and clean the multiple missed spots myself. They did the grunt work so I'm not mad about $55, but I asked if they can shampoo the passenger seat and they said shampooing seats is $200! I did the one seat myself with some upholstery foam cleaner so no big deal and I'm glad I didn't pay $200 because you WILL have to go clean spots they miss anyway. I'll hit up my son's cousins next time lol and stop being so pushy trying to upgrade us lol I'm not getting some car wash membership or detail membership lol I usually detail my car myself so it's not a good investment. They are relentless lol stop being a pusher I said NO! lol they're nice kids just doing their job so this is directed towards management lol Edit: I had my car done at the Mockingbird location before and they didn't clean my inside windshield and it was streaky and I went back twice for them to clean it better. I've taken my car to this car wash a number of times and consistently have had great experiences. I think the interior cleaning is done especially well, but I'll also stop by on days when I just need the exterior cleaned. They're quite efficient.
