Not many choices in Carnation and we've been here before, first time we went we had some not so great service, the next time we had some not so great food. Just lacked flavor and didn't taste great. The restaurant itself is nice and has space along with parking but for the money we can get better food elsewhere.

Stopped in yesterday on the way home for a quick bite. Was a little early for lunch but they had a burger on the menu for breakfast and ordered that. It was delicious. They also have a wall full of hot sauce to choose from. Prices were great, and was even able to catch up with the owner who is a Patriots fan. He was nice enough to give me a DiamondKnot Rootbeer to go as I had tried to order one earlier but the Rootbeer was in the process of being refilled. Will definitely come back to try more things!

Caveat to this review: My husbands beer glass had the previous drinkers lipstick still on it, so not washed well, and his dessert had a hair in it. This place is part bakery, part nice restaurant, and part bar with bar eats. The environment is nice, though the seats are taped so they are worn. But we were seated quickly everyone was cheery and kind. The food. I had a French dip, onions, peppers, and mushrooms, fries, tomato bisque soup, and the berry crumble for dessert. The win here are the baked goods, the bread for my sandwich was delicious, and super soft, the berry crumble was full of juicy berries, homemade, and not too sweet. The meat on the sandwich was good and there was a lot of it, the mushrooms and peppers were good too, but rather sparse for an additional 2 dollars for each of those additions. The French fries were shoestring, crispy, needed salt but I could do that so all good there. No ketchup at the table, and when you ask you receive a tiny bit, so if you like ketchup ask for more up front. The soup was delicious, tangy, great texture, the pesto on top was delicious. All in all satisfying dinner, just a few things that would have made it better, plus the hair and the cleaning issues.

Such a cute cafe with delicious food! We came here for a Saturday morning breakfast. The restaurant section was full and we were seated in the lounge. Service was prompt and friendly. We loved our breakfast - two egg breakfasts and the 2-2-2. We even got to watch CFP football on the TVs in the lounge!

Burger patty was huge, veg fresh and the fried onions delicious. Really liked the bisque, it has the sharp acidic bite of fresh made. Onion rings were well fried and crispy. Chocolate pie was rich and thick. It was really good food. Great little restaurant and bar, with prompt and efficient service. Two things, there was lipstick on my glass, and what looked like a hair baked into the pie. My wife's food had neither. Since this is my first time, it could have just been a bad day for me to eat out.

I love local places such as Carnation Cafe where you can trust their ingredients and staff. I came here for a team lunch and I must say their menu is not only delicious and filling, but it's also priced very well. They offer a homey-intimate experience where you can learn about their staff, and trust their locally sourced food items. I had the wagyu burger with fries and a pineapple mimosa. All options were amazing and I highly recommend this restaurant to all!

    Amazing Desert Case

Had a chance to stop by the Carnation cafe for some Sunday brunch after checking out Snoqualamie Falls. We really loved the vibe of the place. They had live music, tasty Mimosas and a dynamic menu. We enjoyed the Stuffed French Toast and a side of Ham, and of course a mimosa!

Having had a lunch and dinner here, the food is pretty good. Dinner felt a little pricey for what you get, but I'll certainly be back.

Cocktails are great and their famous tostadas with refried beans and fire roasted salsa served in a molcajete are delicious alternative to chips and salsa. The Vacio wagyu is always perfectly tender, and continually warmed on the hot stone with its accompanying salt and chimichurri. That item alone makes me go out of my way to fulfill a craving. An honorable mention goes to their complimentary refried bean tostadas, which is very underrated. The loaded Papa Loca potato is large for sharing, perfectly baked the first time, but underbaked/too starchy the second time. The mushrooms aren't special enough with just a coating of cheese and an unappetizing heavy hand of red pepper flake coating. My toddler honestly has a palate for good burgers, but his dislike was mutual; tasting it it out of curiosity, the wagyu cheeseburger needed more flavor, while the fries seemed over-cooked in old oil. The first time on a weekday, everything seemed great. The second time around for a busy Mother's Day weekend, it just seemed everything was rushed, especially the food preparation.

5 Stars (for Mark) I…read morefound Rare Society on TikTok and made the drive up from Bellevue with my girlfriend, curious to see if this place lived up to its upscale steakhouse reputation. The short answer ..it's complicated but one person made all the difference. When we got there about 30 minutes early, we were told we could sit in the lounge and still receive full service, which was a nice touch. That said, there was no one at the front to greet us for a minute or two upon arrival. Small thing, but when a restaurant markets itself as a high-end experience, that first moment matters. We got seated quickly and then came Mark. He wasn't dressed like a server, so I honestly wasn't sure who he was at first, but his level of attentiveness made it immediately clear this was someone who genuinely cares about the guest experience. He explained that he was supporting our actual waiter, who was also covering bartending duties that evening. Whether that's a staffing concern or just how the night unfolded, I'll leave that to management to reflect on. What I won't leave unacknowledged is this..Mark was extraordinary! He knew the menu inside and out, kept our water filled, checked on us consistently, and made us feel genuinely welcomed, not just served. He even took the time to ask for our names. He spoke highly of our waiter throughout the entire evening, which says a lot about his character. My girlfriend and I were both floored. I'd take someone in a hoodie with Mark's warmth and knowledge over a perfectly dressed server going through the motions any day. The entire experience was held up by Mark. The entire time all the way to the end. It seems like Mark was required to relay all orders to our server. Ultimately our actual server simply delivered only the desert and checked if it was good. When my water glass was empty during dessert, it went unnoticed by him. Mark caught it. Of course he did. This isn't about entitlement. This is about living up to the competition and high end standard Food was Fantastic. Compliments to the chef The Surcharge, Worth Mentioning The receipt included a 4% surcharge described as covering competitive industry compensation, including health benefits for valued full-time employees. I respect transparency around labor costs. But here's the question worth sitting with: if this charge genuinely covers employee health benefits, why is it removable on request? A real operational cost doesn't disappear because a guest felt uncomfortable asking. It starts to feel less like a principled stance and more like a pricing strategy dressed in goodwill language. Five stars and they belong entirely to Mark. He is the standard this restaurant should be measuring itself against. Rare Society, if you're reading this..promote him, learn from him, and make sure he knows how much he elevated what could have been a forgettable evening into something genuinely memorable. Everything about this place is trying to be rare. Mark already is

We chose the bar patio, which was cozy, fully covered, and set up with a handful of small high-top tables, making it a really comfortable spot to relax. The drink menu could use a little more detail, since none of the draft options were listed. When we asked about cider, our server checked and let us know they had a cherry pomegranate cider on tap. For beer, the options were simply described as an IPA and a lager, so we went with the lager. It was good, though we never found out which brewery it was from. We also ordered a mule, which was well made. For happy hour, we shared the half charcuterie board ($12), and it was beautifully presented with a great variety. We were impressed enough to stay for dinner afterward. We ordered the burger and the Greek salad with chicken after learning they were out of prawns. Our server also thoughtfully mentioned they were out of Kalamata olives in case that changed my order, which I appreciated. Both entrees were delicious. The burger stood out thanks to the homemade ketchup, which was especially good. The Greek salad was fresh and flavorful, though a bit light on portion size. Service throughout the evening was friendly and attentive, and by around 7 p.m. on a Friday, the restaurant had become quite busy. Overall, a really enjoyable experience with great patio ambiance, solid food, and warm service.
