I am on personal quest to find the best taco in the DFW metropolitan area. I will be rating my opinion based on three criteria's. 1. Is the taco as good a Sanora style taco. 2. Does it taste good without salsa. 3. Originality to be fair to TEX-MEX style. I will only order beef, pastar, or carnitas since these are the main tacos most people order. Beef Taco good flavor of a street taco but needed the help of the salsa 3 Pastar taco was good and was served of the kabob and was sliced off the kabob a little dry but still good 3

These are the true OMG tacos. The meat coming from the trompo is perfectly cooked and charred just right on the edges. I am very surprised there are not that many reviews of this place. The carnitas are tender and cooked just right to perfection. Who can beat perfection for a 1.30 each taco.

If your looking for a place that has authentic tacos de trompo, this is definitely your spot. My hubs usually orders about 6 and I order the gringa... (The white girl). It's a flour tortilla, white cheese and carne de trompo. (Sorry, Not sure how to translate that, but it's basically the red meat.) Only reason why I rated them 4 stars is because they ran out of ice and also because the only working tv is the one facing the kitchen. :/ Overall, awesome tacos and agua de horchata! If your in Garland, check this place out... Also, if you don't like your corn tortillas with oil, ask them to warm them up without it. The ladies were super accommodating. Enjoy!

Dont judge a book by its cover. This small taco shop is actually really good. They have trompo tacos and really tasty salsas. Mexican burgers and quesadillas too. The tongue and steak tacos are really good too.

I went to see my son play in garland given that we hadn't ate dinner and passed to the cvs across the street I looked over to see this place I looked up the reviews all great so I said let's give it a try. Very disappointing I must say I order extra meat and they basically slapped it on there not again will I stop by this place it is however clean and the agua de horchata was very satisfying but not the food. Not worth the price much less the taste!

The trompo tacos!!! A must get!!!

I know that I'm in treat for authentic tacos when I'm the only non-hispanic/non-Mexican in the restaurant. We're Typically served with complimentary chips that come with 4 different sauces. I really like the green sauce (cilantro) and the yellow one (I'm not sure what it is but it's pretty spicy). I got the trompo and fajita tacos. Each taco costs $1.20. I've never had trompo before, but it was SO GOOD!!! Fajita tacos were good too, but it's not like mind-blowingly good. If you have an extra $1.50 get the jarritos for the drink cause it would really compliment the flavorful tacos. I wish this place was closer to where I live in Dallas.

Best trompo tacos around! The meat is juicy and flavorful while the tortilla is fried perfectly to match the tenderness of the trompo

We were very pleasantly surprised. It's even better in my opinion. The people are very warm and friendly. The food is really delicious. I love that they bring not only good salsa with their fresh hot chips, but also a tomatillo sauce and a black bean dip. We've now eaten there several times. The taco meat has a nicely charred flavor. The tamales were very good. (I'm picky about my tamales. I've tried their ranchero sauce, chili con carne, and sour cream sauce. None of them disappoint. Their rice isn't dry like it is at many other Tex-Mex places. And their $5.00 all day frozen margaritas are worth it. We usually go for the lunch specials that run until 4:00. They don't have mole on the menu, yet. I'm looking forward to their future specials. In this day and age where it's hard to keep a restaurant open, I really hope this one survives. It's not fancy, but the food and service make it worth it. And I'm a picky person when it comes to spending money on food I don't make myself.

It was pretty early so I obviously went breakfast with my choices, but they had a variety of options ranging from barbacoa to chicken. Complimentary champagne, and AMAZING service from our waitress. I've literally never had a server with such extensive knowledge of a restaurant's menu. Very impressive! (which was HUGE btw). While the service was exponentially excellent, the food was...good. The menu was what I would describe as "elevated Mexican" with some other Latin-inspired steakhouse dishes (think filet mignon with some salsa on the side) Everything was good, but nothing really stood out for me. There was a 45-minute wait, due to how many people were crammed into downtown, trying to find places to eat. I had wanted to come here for a while, and suggested coming here to my girlfriend, who admittedly, "doesn't like Tex-Mex" (I know, I know), and after encouraging her to give it a try, we were pleasantly treated to some very high quality food in a nice environment. Despite being woefully understaffed, to the point that they were out of bowls for the salsa and started serving it in to-go containers, the staff was friendly and helpful, with the manager still making the rounds to introduce himself and check on people's experiences. I really liked the chips & salsa, and so did my girlfriend who is very spice sensitive. We had the, "Julio's Tilapia", which was, "Pan-seared tilapia topped with fresh sautéed baby spinach and jumbo grilled shrimp, finished with a silky spicy chipotle cream sauce. Served with rice and a crisp side salad." and the "GUIS-Ohhhhhh!", which was, "Traditional Mexican beef stew. Served with avocado slices, tomatoes, lettuce, & tortillas". The food was delicious, and I really thought the jumbo shrimp was great, and the Guisoooo (carne guisada) was deeply flavored, and very rich in a way I haven't had before. My girlfriend made sure to flag down the manager to point out what an exceptional meal she thought it was, and mentioned several times how blown away she was, and I quote her as saying, "I was expecting one thing, but I did not expect a foodie experience!". We sat at the bar area, which while not large, has taller tables which is helpful for me. The restaurant handled the huge volume of people well, and the food quality was great. I will return whenever an opportunity presents itself
