Rolled the dice pulling off the freeway on our way to DC from Richmond for a meeting and was lucky to find this local gem in Fredericksburg. No real onsite dining (unless you go outside and it was cold-ish when we visited). Food was absolutely phenomenal. Felt obligated to go with the carnitas (at a carnitas restaurant) and they did not disappoint. Went with the verde sauce and was happy I did. Incredible flavor and generous portions. Not in a nice area and some of the customers that came in were very rude but the employees were nice and welcoming. Will very likely go out of the way regularly to come back and try more! The steak was dry and chewy, the barbacoa was dry and lacked flavor, and to make matters worse, both my husband and I got very sick afterward. Great little Mexican restaurant on courthouse road. They have a drive through, which is unique and seems to be fairly busy throughout the day. Got burritos from here a few times. They aren't really properly wrapped so it becomes more of a burrito bowl than a traditional burrito. That said, the flavors are there and the seasoning as well. The salsa Verde they include is spicy but could stand to be a bit more flavorful. Excellent service and friendly staff. read more

Tried Carnitas Michoacan for lunch. My husband and I split it. Ordered the Al Pastor for $7.99. It comes with 3 tacos, no sides. Also ordered an additional taco for $3.50, Yuca frita $3.50, Guacamole $2.00 and a small unsweetened tea for $1.99. I know I'm the minority here, but I did not enjoy the tacos at all. They were very oily and lacked flavor. The Yuka frita were delicious! Crispy on the outside, and soft in the center. The dipping sauce that they come with, is okay. It's a mayonnaise base...tasted somewhat like Mac sauce. The guacamole is obviously homemade and very good, but would've been nice to have some chips with, even if they raised the price for 'chips and guac'. The unsweetened tea had a nice balanced flavor. My overall impression is meh. Mainly because I didn't enjoy the main course; the tacos. But also because I found their prices to be quite high, compared to the competition, for a drive thru taco joint. I paid over $20 for 4 tacos, some yuka fritas and a small iced tea. For a comparison, I can go to my local Mexican restaurant and order 2 iced teas with unlimited refills, flaming hot fajitas with beans and rice, and unlimited chips and salsa, for about the same price. And this place wants a tip for drive thru service. No. My husband didn't like it either. I think I was a bit more forgiving than him. It just wasn't for us. read more

As I was driving down the road I saw this place didn't have a sign so it piqued my curiosity because I saw two women outside looking like they were enjoying their food. So I had to pull over and check it out. At first glance it doesn't look like much is going on here because it's a small place that has a drive through service window and a small foyer in side that is just large enough to see the menu and place your order. The seating is outside. I ordered two things, (El paisa and fried yuca) which came out to 21.30. Sounds like a hefty price at first but that was definitely enough food for two people. I will easily have two large meals out of this. Now for the flavor. Everything was delicious...can't say any more about this. My yuca was nice and crispy, just the way I like it. Such a hidden gem in Fredericksburg. Hands down the most authentic and BEST Mexican food in the DMV. Their breakfast burrito is up there for one of the best I've had. Ever since spending a lot of time in San Antonio I've been craving tacos, but not just any tacos, "Good Tacos!!!" And if you know TX, you know you're hard-pressed to find decent tacos in VA! So, when I heard positive things about this joint, I had to stop in for a breakfast burrito one weekday morning. It's a very small drive-thru style joint with a single table and 4 chairs inside, but I opted to run inside to place my order... I wanted to see and smell inside and have to say, the smells were on-point and what my eyes showed me was that it's clean and the staff offered up really good, friendly service. I ordered their Burrito Mexicano and sat for a few mins while they made it... The wait was quick and they gave me a cup of their salsa also. The flavors of the burrito were seriously On-Point!! The salsa was very very tasty and authentic! Not loaded with chunky tomato and not a wet tomato sauce either, rather a roasted pepper sauce that offered robust flavors and great spice! I thoroughly enjoyed the burrito and took each bite with a little pour of salsa - INCREDIBLE!!! Highly recommend this joint - I'll definitely be back... many times!! read more

This is what authentic Mexican food is ! Been to Mexico and this is as close to street Mexican as it gets . Hubs got the 3 tacos mix and it was legit amazing . Carnitas was off the chain . Today's society wants quick, this place definitely gives that. I ordered a Steak Burrito bowl, the size of this bowl is for 2-meals. At $10, it is beyond getting your monies worth. We ordered food from here today for dinner. Two steak burritos and we were very pleased to see the portion of the food for the price match. The steak was delicious inside the burrito. Came with a green salsa in a ramekin container on the side which was yummy and a light kick of spicy. Would definitely order from here again! They have a bit of indoor seating although I'm not sure how the inside looks or if sitting inside is an option. The clerk at the window was very nice. I had drove by this place all the time on my way home from work and decided to come by to try their food. I love that they have a drive through so you don't have to actually go in to order. Service was super quick and friendly. The menu has a lot of items ranging from tacos, to Mexican corn, quesadillas, and even Mexican pizza! I tried the Birria tacos, Mexican rice, chicken and cheese quesadilla, and chips. All of which were so good. I loved the quesadilla. Even on the side menu it was a big portion and tasty.
