This place had delicious food! I came for lunch and the atmosphere was lively with the World Cup on the TVs. I was sat immediately and greeted by a very nice waitress who gave me chips and salsa. Both the chips and the salsa were good. I ordered a quesadilla diabla and a shrimp tostada. The quesadilla was PHENOMENAL. I really enjoyed it. It was full of shrimp and had a good kick to it. I had been wanting to try this place for a while now, so I finally decided to stop by during a FIFA game day lunch hour. The food was delicious, and the ambiance was great for the occasion. However, the service was incredibly slow. We were seated immediately, but two other parties arrived shortly after. One group of five was served right away, while we waited for our food. I'm not even the type of person to be complaining because I understand being busy and lack of employees, but I called into this place to place an order, the person who answered was very rude and continuously asked, "is that it?" Not only that, they couldn't hear on the phone because they wanted to stand next to the music speaker + on the phone they told me it would be 20 minute wait. I came on my lunch break to pick up the food because I was told it would be a short wait. I've been here for a good hour now.. this isn't okay, truly it's not okay. The employees are unorganized it took a few minutes to be even greeted at the check in stand. Not only this, but there's like 3-4 people working, with so many customers here they can't even run it in a timely manner. I had the pleasure of assisting a family member of the owner here, at my job who told me to come by because it's so good and so worth it and all these good things, but it would have been better to go elsewhere after this inconvenience. Can't even enjoy the food because this is so frustrating and inconsiderate. I was genuinely so excited I convinced my whole job to get some for a small event, but we will not be returning. I've been here a few times, and the inconsistency has completely turned me off. The first time I ordered the carne asada fries, they were great, memorable enough to come back for. Since then, the fries have changed multiple times, and today they were honestly comparable to frozen fast-food fries (specifically Del Taco). When you're paying $15 for carne asada fries, the fries matter. On top of that, the dish had serrano peppers that weren't mentioned anywhere on the menu and were extremely spicy. I asked for a little extra sour cream to balance it out, only to find a surprise charge on my bill that I wasn't told about beforehand. When I asked, I was told the charge was listed on a small tabletop add-on sign in tiny print. Regardless, that's something that should be communicated when the request is made, not discovered on the receipt. The Tostada Tropical was the star of the show! The mango habanero sauce it had was to die for, spicy with tons of flavor. We also tried the Tacos de Camarón and Pescado, the Camarón was my favorite of the two. If you're lucky like us and get here between 2-7pm from M-F you even get $4 Beers and Happy Hour on some food items. Pulpo tacos were excellent. Very well seasoned, perfect char yet still juicy and tender. The homemade tortillas and fresh toppings take the tacos over the top of awesomeness. I ordered the fish tacos with a side of rice. There was barely any fish inside it was just a pile of cabbage trying to pass for a taco. The side of rice was just as bad it was old, dry, and stale. It tasted like it had been sitting out all day. I also ordered a half dozen oysters, which came out warm and tasted off, it was clearly not fresh. The atmosphere was pleasant and added to the overall feel of the meal. My friend recommended to order the shrimp enchiladas. It was very flavorful. I ordered the meal with salsa roja. The subtle but earthy flavor of the sauce added to the flavor of the perfectly cooked shrimp filling. The shrimp was also cooked to perfection. It wasn't rubbery nor was it undercooked. The salad, along with the rice and beans came together to offer a great symphony of flavor with the main course bit after bit. Along with the meal I ordered a cocktail called a Paloma. A very refreshing cocktail that I do highly recommend you order as it is a nice palette cleanser. What made the experience even more special was that the main chef came in and checked on us asking how the meal tastes. She even asked was there anything that could be improved on. My friends and I said that it was delicious we have no criticisms about the meal. This impressed us greatly because this showed the importance that the chef had in giving their clients their very best. The times I've gone it's only been with a handful of people as the restaurant is quite small and definitely has a modern marisco restaurant feel. The food is high up on my marisco list. Fresh, tasty, and satisfies my marisco craving. The michelada is also very good, it isn't an overly sweet or spicy michelada that is really popular at many restaurants right now. Went over the weekend, food looked good but tasted spoiled (octopus) told the waiter and she came back to tell me they cook it in sugar that's why it tasted off, never heard of seafood being cooked that way. The seafood not only tasted off but smelled like they thawed it out and wasn't in correct temp. Anyhow the tab was over $300 asked if she removed my food since I only tried like two spoonfuls she "forgot" mind you two of the food orders had spoiled seafood they didn't even remove it from our tab only "25%" of the plate, took $40 in gratitude which we were fine with but I wish they had better customer service. We threw up afterwards luckily we didn't get food poisoning. If you're serving seafood I think it should be out of fresh ingredients. We visited LPL during the week, the service was excellent. Our server was attentive, welcoming and accommodating. The layout of the seating is odd and felt a bit cramped. The loud music made it difficult to have a conversation, and the constant beeping from a smoke detector was more distracting than anything else. As for the food, the shrimp boil had shrimp that were overcooked and mushy, and the ceviche tostada had shrimp that seemed to need more time in the marinade to "cook" a bit more.
