Just want everyone to be aware. I ordered a shrimp cocktail to go. The cost was $20 dollars and they only offer one size. That was a red flag but I was like screw it, it's a hot day and I'm craving a shrimp cocktail. The cup is huge but the problem is it had nothing but juice. One slice of Avocado and the shrimp was at the bottom of the cup! I have never seen anything like this. The food ratio did not match the volume of the juice per the size of the cup!! ‍‍‍ Horrible!! I've been here a few times, and the inconsistency has completely turned me off. The first time I ordered the carne asada fries, they were great, memorable enough to come back for. Since then, the fries have changed multiple times, and today they were honestly comparable to frozen fast-food fries (specifically Del Taco). When you're paying $15 for carne asada fries, the fries matter. On top of that, the dish had serrano peppers that weren't mentioned anywhere on the menu and were extremely spicy. I asked for a little extra sour cream to balance it out, only to find a surprise charge on my bill that I wasn't told about beforehand. When I asked, I was told the charge was listed on a small tabletop add-on sign in tiny print. Regardless, that's something that should be communicated when the request is made, not discovered on the receipt. The Tostada Tropical was the star of the show! The mango habanero sauce it had was to die for, spicy with tons of flavor. This is a very friendly and clean restaurant kind of out of the way. I had a Seafood Tower with fish octopus, lots of shrimp, cucumber, onion and avocado in a mild red sauce. Pulpo tacos were excellent. Very well seasoned, perfect char yet still juicy and tender. The homemade tortillas and fresh toppings take the tacos over the top of awesomeness. Felt like I didn't just eat some pulpo tacos but experienced them. Customer service was also great. Greeted with all smiles and great energy. Service was quick and clean. I ordered the fish tacos with a side of rice. There was barely any fish inside it was just a pile of cabbage trying to pass for a taco. The side of rice was just as bad it was old, dry, and stale. It tasted like it had been sitting out all day. I also ordered a half dozen oysters, which came out warm and tasted off, it was clearly not fresh. Went over the weekend, food looked good but tasted spoiled (octopus) told the waiter and she came back to tell me they cook it in sugar that's why it tasted off, never heard of seafood being cooked that way. The seafood not only tasted off but smelled like they thawed it out and wasn't in correct temp. My friend recommend Libra por Libra after discussing what other hole in the wall restaurants we could visit in the near future. I am glad to have taken his advice. The atmosphere was pleasant and added to the overall feel of the meal. My friend recommended to order the shrimp enchiladas. It was very flavorful. I ordered the meal with salsa roja. The subtle but earthy flavor of the sauce added to the flavor of the perfectly cooked shrimp filling. The shrimp was also cooked to perfection. It wasn't rubbery nor was it undercooked. The salad, along with the rice and beans came together to offer a great symphony of flavor with the main course bit after bit. Along with the meal I ordered a cocktail called a Paloma. A very refreshing cocktail that I do highly recommend you order as it is a nice palette cleanser. What made the experience even more special was that the main chef came in and checked on us asking how the meal tastes. She even asked was there anything that could be improved on. My friends and I said that it was delicious we have no criticisms about the meal. This impressed us greatly because this showed the importance that the chef had in giving their clients their very best. They have recently updated their menu and prices. It's sad how this economy continues to impact us and small businesses. The new menu took away some of my favorites!! Still a pretty good enough menu I suppose. I like their taco nopalazo but the way they cook their nopales is alllwwwaaayyysss inconsistent. Their service is good but their music is super duper loud in my opinion; you can't even talk normal because it's so loud. Food was okay, but there being only a couple tables on a Thursday night the service was horrible. 2/21/26 My son and daughter in law brought me out to eat here for dinner, considering I celebrated my birthday in December here I was expecting the same outcome. Upon arrival we were greeted and seated within minutes. our server took our drink order and appetizers, he forgot the drinks and the appetizers took about 30-35 minutes to come out. We placed our dinner order in which the server forgot to add half of our food. We arrived at around 4:45 kind you it wasn't crazy busy. My daughter in laws food never came out and we had to remind him several times. Service was very very very POOR. Food was thrown together. During that time our server got in his truck and left never mentioned to other employees about half our order missing. Sorry but we will not be returning. Not worth the $220.00 bill. We visited LPL during the week, the service was excellent. Our server was attentive, welcoming and accommodating. The layout of the seating is odd and felt a bit cramped. The loud music made it difficult to have a conversation, and the constant beeping from a smoke detector was more distracting than anything else. As for the food, the shrimp boil had shrimp that were overcooked and mushy, and the ceviche tostada had shrimp that seemed to need more time in the marinade to "cook" a bit more. The times I've gone it's only been with a handful of people as the restaurant is quite small and definitely has a modern marisco restaurant feel. The food is high up on my marisco list. Fresh, tasty, and satisfies my marisco craving. The michelada is also very good, it isn't an overly sweet or spicy michelada that is really popular at many restaurants right now.
