We had a great time at this place and were excited to come back, but I wanted to write this review to warn others, because I was overcharged. We paid $50 in advance for the deposit and were told it would come out of the final bill. I signed a receipt for the correct amount, but my card was charged a different amount- somehow MORE than $50 more. I'm trying to reach them now to get this worked out, but definitely double check your charges! Otherwise, it's fine. Very limited song lists unfortunately, but the food and drink is just fine for karaoke purposes and it's nice to have a spot where you can get a private room in the valley. We were looking for a fun karaoke spot and luckily found this little gem on the way home! Parking was pretty easy as there were many available spots out front. Our experience was horrible and we didn't even get to come in and have an event. We went there to reserve a room and ask questions for an event we wanted to have. The guy at the front was busy on his personal phone before even acknowledging us. mind you he was standing at the door when we walked in. I then asked about pricing and instead of engaging with us he pointed to a sign and said there are the prices and walked away. We then proceeded to ask to see a room we were Interested in and he made us feel like we were bothering him. Once he took us to the room he walked out and left again without us being able to ask any questions. Upon his return we stayed asking questions and while asking he kept staring and typing on his phone as if we were Interrupting a conversation that was more important than us trying to bring him business. When we came out of the room we had more questions and the guy then walked away again and proceeded to close a door to us. We ended up walking out. Went here for a friends birthday and it was a blast! The prices are reasonable fair and pretty worth it. They had a binder of all the songs they offered and it even included some pretty new and recent songs. I do have to say that it does look a bit out dated inside but to be honest, I was really just there for a good time. They also offer food and drinks but my group only ordered a round of their flavored soju cocktail and some soju bottles. Overall, great deal for a fun time with your friends! Should check it out if you need to find something to do. HEADS-UP: I decided to be DD for my friends but drove their car to drop them off and left mine in the parking lot to come back to. I love coming here and singing my heart out with my friends over the weekend. Usually there is no wait but sometime there can be a wait up to an hour if you come late on a Friday or Saturday night. I usually spend about an hour or two here and the prices aren't too bad especially when splitting amongst friends. Long ago this place was fun. The woman tried to charge me $400. She said that was with alcohol. I made sure to buy any drinks separately on my card. So she said OK $165...How do we go from that to that? No explanation. The online price said $60 hr but pretty sure it's $100 hr now. They also moved us to a small room from a large room. Pros: The song selection is great. They have recent songs there, even as recent as 2024 this year. I've gone here several times before with no issues until now. Cons: So, here's the situation, they ask for an ID & card to keep on file when you book a room (per hour charge, understandable). You have to really keep track of how many hours & how much you spend on food because they DO NOT give you an itemized bill. On top of that, they also don't inform you of an *already added* 18% gratuity tip. The manager will ask you how much you want to tip (without telling you that he ALREADY ADDED his own tip there), resulting in a double charge for tip. I was shocked because I normally tip generously in every establishment but this one was DISHONEST. They won't give an itemized bill so you don't see that they already added their own tip (sneaky), plus asking you for tip again, making YOU tip separately AGAIN. Make sure you ask for an itemized bill before paying. They'll give you a receipt that the transaction went through, but won't give a breakdown of what you paid for UNLESS you specifically ask for it, (and they just write it down also by hand lol). I had to ask for it because my total came out to be a lot more than what I had estimated including my tip for the service. So, be careful. I know everyone has probably had some liquor to drink but make sure you know what you're paying for. This whole transaction with Carnival Karaoke was sneaky, dishonest, fraudulent, and conniving. read more

It was a group of 10 and we waited about an hour for our room. There are alot of songs to chose from and they also sell drinks and food. Wish I could keep quiet so they don't bc famous, BUT I found my new forever go-to Karaoke! It's kinda far from me but I won't mind the extra drive. The -1star is shared for 1) not having more of Bruno Mars most famous songs and 2) the microphones where hit and miss throughout 2.5hrs. 3) they don't open earlier. One of the cordless mics volume was so low after 1.45hrs they brought us a corded one which had crazy echo & we couldn't bring down. There were also static issues. My kids went here couple days ago, and had to wait over almost 2 hours. This is unacceptable, this is how you lose customers. The worker there said they had to wait for 30 mins to hour but BOY was he wrong!!! Instead they gave an entire room to a lady who was by herself and she wasn't even singing!! Something different and definitely fun. I was a little skeptical before coming here for a friends birthday. We had a private room for about 12 of us and overall, it was great. Decent song choices, no issues with sound or mics (a huge plus), and a party atmosphere. Each room has colored lights moving around. After about 30 mins, it started giving several of us a headache. Trying to reach the song book list with the lights going was not easy. We actually had to turn them off half way through the night. This place is located in a large shopping center. There is plenty of parking. No outside food is allowed. Renting a room here is quiet reasonable when divided per person. I'd go back as it was definitely out of my comfort zone, but all in all a fun time. read more

(April 2019) Our 1st Time here @ Carnival Karaoke. There was 6 of us on a Saturday night around 1015pm. We had left another Karaoke spot 25 minutes away, but that place had a time limit... My friends & I didn't want the night to end. So I Yelped for nearby karaoke spots that were otw home... Carnival Karaoke. I'm so glad we found this spot, it is much closer & to our surprise, no time limit. The singer is also scored at the end of each song. We definitely had a blast! The rooms seemed quite bigger & we felt more ventilation. There were tons of songs to choose from. Only con is the book that lists the songs. They weren't in any particular order, half of the songs I couldn't read because they were foreign. But other than that, Good times here. Especially w/ all the different Soju Flavored beverages. Yes! In terms of English, there are popular songs from the biggest hits from the Beatles, to Lady Gaga, to Draco, to mostly every current artist but also classics like Piano Man. A small group of us wanted to do karaoke in the Valley, instead of making the trip all way in to K-town. One of us found Carnival Karaoke, so we decided to check it out. I made the reservation over the phone; simple process - they need to know the number of guests and the time you're coming in. Size of the group determines the room you get and the hourly rate. My wife saw some reviews that warned about extra charges, but we didn't experience anything like that. Room was ready for us at the time we reserved it. The song book is similar to many karaoke places - some weird choices for Pop songs ("Territorial Pissings" by Nirvana, deep cuts from Whitesnake and Judas Priest, but no Broadway show tunes...?), and it's unfortunately listed by song title instead of by group. But we found plenty of songs for our group to fill the time. The rooms aren't exactly soundproofed, so you hear other groups singing between your songs, but, have a few drinks and you'll forget that they can hear you, too. We were so into it, we lost track of time. We ended up having to pay for double the time we wanted to be there for. O.O - when I arrived I requested a Large room for $50/hour (designed for 10 people. We were a group of 8) but they told me only VIP for $65/hour was available tonight (designed for 15+ people supposedly). It almost seemed like they were up charging (especially considering the above mentioned practice) - pretty rude staff. I understand you have people waiting and you're frustrated but rudeness is uncalled for. - personal preference but there is very little Spanish music selection. I was looking for the latest Shakira hits, Bad Bunny, etc and they were no where in sight. It's a well-known fact that when one wants to be embarrassed and make themselves available for ridicule; then they should perform karaoke. Luckily for our us (especially in this age of Youtube and Instagram), there is the availability of private karaoke bars where our off-tune voices can belt out tunes without worrying about being the laughing stock of the neighborhood. For Valley residents who can't make it to Koreatown, there is Carnival Karaoke. Carnival Karaoke is located within a large shopping center filled with Korean restaurants and businesses. For those familiar with karaoke bars, Carnival Karaoke fits the standard bill. A counter welcomes patrons offering some food (from fruit plates to dumplings) and beer (such as the lovely Hite); while a sign boasts the prices ($20/an hour from up to 4 people). Meanwhile, corridors to the right and left expand into the private karaoke rooms with the restrooms in the back of the building. In essence, Carnival Karaoke is much smaller than many of the karaoke places in Koreatown plus it resembles a run-down hotel. Despite this, Carnival Karaoke gets the job done. Offering both smaller and larger rooms, Carnival Karaoke has a large TV monitor with a box available for adjusting octave ranges, tambourines for beating, two microphones, and two song-list books. Padded booth seating (complete with silly dog-print fabric) and strobe lights add to the party environment. The problem? The walls are super thin so you can see (there is a sort of window) and hear the people in the adjacent rooms. The best part (depending on who you ask)? Carnival Karaoke has those silly music videos which are the epitome of Korean karaoke bars. You know the ones: buffalo running across the fields, fish swimming in a coral reef, Asian couples fighting and then hugging... just the weirdest, most random visuals. This definitely provides laughter. The song list is also satisfactory as it is updated with with recent pop, holiday, and Asian 'hits'. In terms of service, Carnival Karaoke sufficiently provided great customer service. The male associate at the counter was kind, pleasant, and patient even when it was 3am (closing time on Saturday night) and we wanted to "do one more song". If all the employees are like this, then Carnival excels. My main complaint is that Carnival is somewhat "dirty" and shabby. Especially beware of the ladies' bathroom which was filthy with dirty floors, paper towels strewn all over, dust, and no purse hooks. Despite some flaws, whether you are the next singing sensation or just want to sing some tunes in the wrong key; Carnival Karaoke is a great solid choice for those living in the Valley. read more
