I have a warranty through Lowe's with Assurant Claims, and a repair request was filed for my appliance. The owner of Carolina Appliances, Billy, came out to service the order and advised that he would order the part and contact me once it arrived. After waiting, I called multiple times to check the status and was repeatedly told someone would call me back, but I never received a response. Eventually, I was informed that my order had been closed and that I would need to submit a new service request. By that time, my warranty had expired. I contacted Carolina Appliances to ask how I could escalate the issue and was told, "How can you escalate above the boss?" Unfortunately, the customer service experience was very disappointing. I normally do not write reviews, but I felt it was important to share my experience so this does not happen to someone else. If a company tells a customer that a part has been ordered, consumers should be able to trust the technician's word. Mistakes can happen, but as a business, the company should take responsibility, make it right, and reorder the part rather than leaving the customer without support after the warranty expires. Worst company ever! They came out of 02/03 & i was told id get a call when the part had arrive so i can get my washer fixed. Today is 02/10. I have not received a call to schedule an appointment or atleast let me know what time & date they have me scheduled to do the repairs.The repair guy doesn't call to let me know hes on his way to my house either. I want to personally recognize Carolina Appliance Service and their technician, "Billy," for their amazing customer service and timely service. We have an LG front load washer and I diagnosed the issue, "drainage pump", but chose not to self-perform the replacement. No washer in a home of 4 is lots of washing per day. One day = a month. Billy was on time, friendly, professional, and resolved our issue in lightning speed. Back up and running with the daily 6 loads, appreciating the TEAM effort. We requested service through our warranty company. Carolina Appliance Service gave us a window of 7am-5pm so my wife stayed home to ensure someone was here. Billy then called the morning of to say it would be between 11am-1pm. He never showed up. When she texted him in the late afternoon, he said 'yep we'll be there tomorrow' as if that was the plan the whole time. An entire day shuffled to accommodate for nothing! I'm giving them 2 starts instead of 1, since they didn't charge me anything. We had an issue with our GE Washer Machine (4 years old). The tech who came out didn't seem like he wanted to be here, and not really a ringing endorsement for customer service. He looked at our machine for 15 minutes, and then simply said, 'I can't figure out what it is' and left. He didn't check the drainage pipe, he didn't look at the filter, and he didn't even open the machine. Apparently he was just trying to get a code from the machine, which he couldn't. Funny enough, I was able to get a code after he left & I don't even do this for a living. I ended up calling the owner to let him know how poorly our service went, and this guy also turns out to be inept. He simply says 'well if he couldn't figure it out, he couldn't figure it out.' I was trying to do him a favor, since I also own a business and wouldn't want inept employees working for me. I can now see why these guys have bad reviews. On the plus side, they didn't charge me. So we had water running out of the bottom of our Frig.... Call Carolina Appliance Service and asked when we could get the work scheduled.. I was told a repairman was in the area and would call shortly. I received a follow-up call from the repairman and he was on my driveway within 30 minutes of my original call !!!! He dried out my drain, added a heat conducting wire into the drain to prevent re-occurrence and was complete in another 30 minutes. It would have been quicker but the reassembly screws hid for a couple minutes... :-) It may have been a coincidence.. but I've never had a quicker service call in my 61 years on this planet. I've used Carolina Appliance Service before my latest repair and I have found them to be ethical, dependable and trustworthy. It took a couple of days to get on their schedule, but my repair was done within a half-hour. The repairman, Bill, was friendly and knowledgeable. He called early that morning, as expected, to set the arrival window of time. He arrived on time and called before arrival. He had the needed part for the repair with him in his truck. A competitive service which I also used previously wanted to charge a $250 "diagnostic fee" with no guarantee of a repair. I called them because I thought they might be able to arrive the same day, but they could not. Their pricing was off-putting given the age of the appliance. My repair was done, including parts, for half of that with Carolina Appliance Service. I have now officially "lost" the number of the other appliance service. I highly recommend Carolina Appliance Service. read more

DO NOT USE THEM!!! On 5/13/22 I had the repairman out because my 2 year old ice dispenser in the door wasn't working. He was there about 10 minutes and said it was fixed. It worked for a few days and quit again. I called them back out and he said I needed a new ice maker. On 5/24/22 he installed the new ice dispenser and on 8/13/22, the ice dispenser stopped working again. Today 8/16/22 the same repairman came and said the ice had just froze things up and he wanted to charge another $127.00 after I had paid them $127.62 for the first call, $180.31 for the second call. My mother was at home for the last service call and told the repairman there was no way we were paying for this call. He left and she called the office and the owner said to tear up the ticket and NEVER to call them again. Believe me, I won't!! read more

Bought an LG dryer from Lowes and called for warranty work. They sent Carolina Appliance Company for the repair. This guy had the worst attitude imaginable. Blamed the problem on everything but the appliance and was gone in a few minutes. Quick in and out and get paid. Ended up making the repair myself and as it turns out it was something that happened either in the manufacturing or shipping as a piece of packaging material was left in the vent. All the guy had to do was investigate a little. Family members are moving to the area next week and into a new house and will need all new appliances. Was planning to purchase from Lowes as I get a military discount but this guy just cost Lowes a $10,000+ sale. To bad. read more

About a year and a half ago we bought an LG dishwasher from Lowes and we also purchased a warranty on it. We contacted Lowes for a problem error we kept getting after every load and they decided to send us a Carolina Appliance Service employee named Kevin to look at it. He walked in with a very ignorant attitude and the moment he looks at it he says that he can't fix it. We were stunned because why would you work for a repair company if you can't fix a simple dishwasher? He was very unprofessional and kept laughing while writing on his memo pad. Every question we would ask he would give a smart ass remark. He claimed that LG and Samsung brands are crap and that we should purchase a Frigidaire or a Whirpool dishwasher and kept bashing every other brand. It is MY choice what brand I purchase and it is his job to fix it. To me this seemed very unprofessional and I lost all credibility on the guy. He continues to say that we do not need to use dishwashing detergent for our dishwasher because the hot water is enough to clean the dishes. That is RIDICULOUS! How would you expect to break down the fats and greases from the dishes without dishwashing detergent? I'm very displeased with the service and I will be calling Lowes to ask for a different maintenance company. Kevin does not represent the company well and was unwilling to help with the repair. If I could give NO STARS, I would. This company is unprofessional in every way. We got them through Lowe's where purchased our Bosch dishwasher (which would not drain properly and was just out of warranty). At first, we thought that Lowe's had their own repair team, but they farmed the service out to Carolina Appliance. The guy who came was unprofessional, would not remove dishwasher to check any connections etc. Disconnected the hose under the sink of our new cabinet (just remodel kitchen). Because he left standing water in the cabinetry, the floor of our new ink cabinet waffled. They made us take the dishwasher out and have it re-installed after, which we paid our contractor to do for us. He found the damage. When they returned to do repair, we were not home but our neighbor let them in the garage to fix it. We reinstalled it to learn that it was not repaired at all! Same error code and we were left with with a very expensive damaged cabinet! But they left a bill for over $250. When we called to explain to them that it had not been fixed and tell them about the damaged cabinet, the owner/dispatcher (he refused to give his name) got angry, told us to call someone else to fix it. He didn't ask us questions or for photos of the damage or care that it wasn't fixed. Such an unprofessional company- PLEASE BE WARNED not to use this company. After talking to Lowe's Customer Care, they had no jurisdiction over these guys but filed a complaint which may protect future Lowe's customers from going through this experience. However, we have a dishwasher that doesn't work and a damaged cabinet is our new kitchen. read more

I don't like to write negative reviews. However, Bob is one of the most unprofessional owners I have dealt with. Right now, it is not about the money he won't pay to fix my floors, due to fridge repairs, it is about how he treated me on the phone. Complete disrespect, almost yelling. I called many companies to have my fridge repaired b/c it was freezing everything and the water and ice dispenser weren't working either. They were the only ones I could find to work on a Samsung. Erik came out and was very pleasant and tried to figure out how to fix the problem. He wasn't sure so he called Samsung. They told him it sounded like I needed a new panel and temperature sensor. He ordered that and asked me to make sure the fridge was defrosted for 12 or more hours before he came to install it, which I did. I had done that about 4 or 5 times before so that not all food would be frozen. The part arrived, he installed it and charged me $321.18 and said the fridge was fixed. I told him the ice and water still weren't working but he said it was b/c they still needed to thaw. Which I thought was strange after being unplugged for 18 hours. But, I said, "Okay." He left and the next morning I awoke to an inch of water on my kitchen and living room floor b/c the fridge was leaking everywhere. I turned off the water and called Carolina Appliance. I was in a panic, spoke to Bob and he was curt and said he could have someone out at 2pm. I said, "There is an inch of water on my floor after your fridge guy "fixed" my fridge and you can't have anyone out here sooner?" His response was, "No, they will get there when they can." Servpro came right out and had the floors drying by the time Erik came to my house at 3:30. He said it was an unrelated problem. It was a busted filter and that would cost me $142.00 more. Which I asked if he couldn't he have seen that problem before and he said it must have just happened. I got the bill from Serpro and called Bob to talk to him about helping me pay this Serpro bill since I feel it was at least partly their responsibility. My claim was that they said they fixed my fridge and even if it was unrelated, it was still not fixed as my water and ice were not working when he left. Had he looked into why that was happening, I feel he may have seen the problem and been able to save me from having to pay to have my floors fixed. At this point, it would have been much cheaper to buy a new fridge! Bob was so unprofessional, and actually hateful to me on the phone that I would NEVER recommend his company to anyone. read more

So grateful that Carolina Appliance had someone (Bill) out at my house within 3 hours of my call to fix my dishwasher!!! (I had been washing dishes by hand for 3 days hoping the thing would miraculously drain...) They took my call and called me back with his estimated time of arrival - and he was here on time. Bill was in and out within 30-40 minutes. He was professional, polite and has 28 years experience. (He does union county repairs/calls.) Bill found a piece of glass that was blocking the drain pump. I really hate to leave a negative review of a local small business because I really like to support them, but feel like I need to share my experience. I chose this company because of the 5 star Yelp reviews, but unfortunately had a 1 star experience. I contacted Carolina Appliance Repair almost a week ago to come and look at our refrigerator that was not cooling. They had someone come the same day which was really nice. The technician who arrived was polite and seemed knowledgeable. He immediately popped off the back of the unit and showed me what happened. Our compressor was very dirty and because we didn't catch it in time, he believed it had burned up our motor. He recommended our best bet was to probably get a new refrigerator, but since we have a home warranty that would cover a compressor, he told me that he would get his boss to find out how much it would cost to have it repaired to see if it was more cost effective to repair or replace. He tried to call his boss while at the house, but was unable to reach him. He assured me he could get a quote for me and someone would call from the office within a couple of days. They charged $89 for this service call. After the check was cashed and I had not heard anything in about a week, I called to find out what was going on. I spoke with Bob, who appeared to be the owner or manager. He was very short with me on the phone and would hardly let me explain what was going on. He first said they never serviced me, then after I told him that they cashed our check, so they must have come out, then he asked a couple more questions, told me that he had no record of our service call and would have to call me back. He called back a few minutes later to tell me that he doesn't have anyone to repair compressors right now and they wouldn't be able to help us. I told him that $89 was a very high price to pay for a service call for them to not follow up like they promised and there seemed to be a lot of miscommunication between him and his technician. He half apologized and that was it. I really feel like they should have partially refunded the service call fee since they didn't finish servicing us in a timely manner. That would have been good customer service, and what I expect from supporting a small business. As much as I like to support small businesses, I just can't honestly recommend this company. I used Yelp reviews to choose them to contact, so I just want to be fair to others who may do the same in the future by giving an honest review. read more

So wonderful! My dishwasher had no power to the control panel. We tried everything, breakers, opening the under panel, then called CAS and the gentleman who answered the phone knew that our model had to have a wall switch somewhere. He was right! Saved us a house call charge and who knows what other baloney from someone else, and were able to immediately wash our full load that had built up. If I could give 0 stars, I would give it. Washer was leaking and LG routed the servicing to Carolina Appliance and Service. Guy came to diagnose and fix. After he left, I tried running a quilt in the washer as a stress test, the leak occurred again. Called the technician, did not answer his phone. My husband called Carolina Appliance Service and they got the guy to call back the day after. As soon as I pick up the phone and explain what is happening, his response: "You cannot wash a quilt in that washer." Most ridiculous excuse I have heard from any technician. I tried justifying myself and was cut off by the same answer "you cannot wash a quilt in the washer." When I tried to speak again he kept mention the same thing not even wanting to hear me out. Last sentence he said "if you're not happy, get LG to come out and service it" FYI - Got the machine completely replace and ran the quilt through it - NO LEAK The technician should definitely get fired in my opinion or Carolina Appliance Service should invest into better training programs. read more

My experience was great I forgot to get the service techs name but he was in and out in 40 minutes and it was a cost-effective repair on our LG dryer noise issue (had to replace a drum support roller). My refrigerator's top compartment stopped cooling, while bottom french door freezer was working correctly. Called company for service, quoted $69 for service call, and scheduled service. Kevin came out promptly, then advised me that I needed to unplug refrigerator so the coils would defrost...all of this took MAYBE 10 minutes. Then he charged me $20 for the advice......REALLY?!?! My dryer wasn't completely drying my clothes. I called to have a repair guy come out from Carolina Appliance. However the owner (Bob) was able to tell me how to fix this error. I quickly was able to clean the vent line and troubleshoot the problem with NO CHARGE. I will certainly use Carolina Appliance again even if I do have to have service work. read more

How are these people in business?? I got an extended warranty for an LG dishwasher (avoid LG dishwashers, that should be for a different review). These guys were called out to fix the dishwasher 3 years ago, 4 trips (or 1 month) later they finally managed to shotgun the problem!! (Woohoo! the blind squirrel finally found a nut). Speed up to today! I was assigned CAS for the same problem. I let them know they had been out here before for the same problem and what they finally did to fix the problem. They said that they would be out the FOLLOWING WEEK! Guess they needed to look it up on YouTube and figure out how to fix it, or they just wanted to continue to make my wife do the dishes by hand (3 kids under 7, lots of dishes). Well they called this AM to say "No we are going to ask the service company to assign it to another service provider :-( .... we are going to have to take the dishwasher out to repair it, and its heavy, and the guy that works on LG (I'm sure is really busy) well his back is hurt!! The gentleman who came out to my home was very nice, inspected my washer and informed me that my machine was going to cost more to fix than it was worth and that he would work up an estimate and submit it to my insurance company. The next day I receive a call stating that this company submitted a request to have another company come look at it because it was a stackable washing machine and that they did not have 2 people to send out to look at it! When I called to find out what was going on and ask to speak to the technician who was at my home I was told that the man was "gone" he went on vacation and I cannot help you. The man I spoke with was beyond rude! I explained to him that HIS TECHNICIAN told me that he would write up an estimate and submit it and that it really was not worth fixing. The man proceeded to tell me that he can't write up an estimate for something that can't be fixed. To which I replied can you please just inform my insurance company that it cannot be fixed. I have a Premium Protection Plan on several appliances through hhgregg. I was scheduled an appointment with one company who never showed, and another that wanted me to wait 3-4 weeks for an appointment. The service technician from Carolina Appliance came the same day I called and diagnosed the problem within 2-3 min. He was back at 7:30 AM the next morning with the part and repaired a switch within 10 minutes. Polite, trustworthy, professional. and knowledgeable and most of all he showed up earlier than expected and on time the following day. What a breath of fresh air to have a company do what they say they will do! Will use them without exception from now on!!! read more

This guy has lousy customer service and an arrogant poor attitude! Stated he did not have "men" working in our area of Lake Norman. Asked him if he subs-out work and he said no it's only him, so his "men working" statement was misleading as it's "one man working". Asked him if he works Mooresville area and he said yes but he won't come on this side of the lake even though we are 20 minutes closer to his office than Mooresville. Says on his website he'll help you fix your problems over the phone but thats a false claim from this experience.
