    Inside air handler unit
    Jay T.

So my home's AC stopped blowing cold air. I messaged Carolina Climate Control for a service call estimate. After about 30 minutes I got a text saying service call charge was $79, but would be applied to any repair costs and to call them for an appointment. I called and explained the issue, but was told someone would call me back to schedule. Over an hour went by and no one called me, so I called back. Appointment was set and David B. showed up timely; he was professional and friendly. He determined my fan was dead and roughly estimated $500 to replace. Seemed like an expensive bandaid for a 14 year-old unit, so I decided best to just replace it. Next day Travis B. came to give me an estimate for a new unit. He was on time, friendly and professional. Gave me a quote before he left and it was just under $6K for new Ruud 14 seer unit. They took the $79 service call cost off the total (after I reminded them). Two days later the installers showed up on time to get my AC going. They were professional and it took them about 8 hours to complete the job. HVAC has worked fine since install. Only negative is they dripped something on my garage floor (I assume oil from the old air handler unit or from the lift they used to install the new one) that stained the floor all the way across my garage. I initially thought it was just water and would dry/disappear, but nearly two weeks later it's still there. But at least I have cold air!

Our HVAC unit had been giving us problems for the past year or more. We've had it repaired and refilled the refrigerant a couple times. This year the energy usage of our utility bill had been skyrocketing. I was hesitant to commit to a whole new system. However, our energy usage has dropped tremendously, so in time the new HVAC will pay for itself. I went with the recommendation from Carolina Climate Control for the appropriate SEER, and it works great.

Overcharge Job came out over $300 per hour

Also Advertises as a Plumbing company found out they do not actually do plumbing but subcontracts outside company and overcharges they should stick to heating and cooling and not have plumbing included in their advertisement. And they do not charge by the hour once on property they charge for each repair and extreme amount $2300 for a six hour job at over $300 per hour never heard of such a thing. need to check out their Google map reviews To get the full story that I posted

Fast response and excellent work. I couldn't be happier. Marshall will be my go to AC repairman for any future work.

Not only did that NOT happen, Marshall also added a drain line that the unit didn't have and didn't charge me.

Yesterday morning, I woke to an very heated home on a 90+ degree day. I called around, read reviews, and came across Preferred. From customer service to dispatch to service technician....EVERYONE was above exemplary in their approach to my concerns. Josh, was the service technician that served the moment. He took care to inform of foreseeable concerns, but admitted that even through his diagnostics couldn't narrow what triggered my issue. What could've been a very expensive call was minimally fiscally conservative in its service charge. The system was running again very shortly. And this morning, I rose to the comfort I have grown accustomed. PREFERRED is now my preferred HVAC/plumbing go to and I elected their PPP maintenance option. I'm looking onward to our working together,as I feel that they will remain honest, caring, and proactive in their service and commitment. Thank you

Member price for low price toilet and valve and work: low of $957 and high of $1538. I am not the brightest but that seemed like a ripoff. I called around to get estimates. No place would come out to even do anything other than a diagnostic fee for nearly $100. Many people told me over the phone that they wouldn't give me an estimate, or rough guess would be $1500-$3000 to repair my issue. I had a corroded gas line from my meter into my home that was leaking. I called John this morning. He firstly told me it would only be a $45 diagnostic fee, and roughly $300 to repair. Not only did he do both of those parts, he did them much cheaper than many of the other companies I called. Then he even came the same day, at the time that was best for me. When he got to my home, he quickly saw the issue, and knew it would be a little more expensive than what I was describing. I didn't even send him any photos when I first called. He went to Lowes, got the needed pipe, and was back quickly. He completed the work, very thoroughly, and as cleanly as possible. Mind you, my issue resulted in a hole needing to be made on the inside of my home to access the gas line. He did the work, and only charged me $500, which is a fraction of what I probably would've paid with another company, and also probably would've had to wait a day or two for someone to come out. He's very knowledgable and seems to do good work. He's the owner, so his reputation is on the line. I would definitely recommend him to anyone needing a plumber! I will definitely use him again in the future as well. The gas company came out a short time later, tested the line for leaks, and did not find any, and turned the gas back on! I'm so glad I went with west Ashley plumbing, and not some big name brand.
