Had lunch here outside so yesss it's hot even with fans going. Besides that a fun atmosphere right in main so you can people watch as you have your meal. Appetizer was conch fritters that were moist in the center with a nice crunchy outside full of flavor. The service was good and they are dog friendly which is a plus for me and . I indulged in the Rev Burger well done (she let me know it will take 25 min) which was well worth the wait. The burger was not burnt anywhere on the outside and was delicious. Great location, friendly service and most importantly tasty food. Stopped here with the family (party of 5), and we're sat very quickly. The location is on the main strip and has more than enough room to accommodate big party. They don't shy or disappoint on the Po Boy Shrimp sandwich - generous portion of shrimp. Only complaint and not of anyone's fault but be ready to have pigeon, and chickens around the restaurant. The staff do the best to get them out of the way but the birds naturally swoop in and walk around the entire establishment. Nonetheless, a must if you're down on Duval Street. read more

Great for parties or larger groups due to their size and table set ups. We had a group of 11 and the service was good but a little slow. I believe it's slower as it's a laid back casual dining spot with pretty good food options! We had the dolphin fingers to start and these were great. Large pieces of mahi nightly breaded and fried served with lemon. I would get these again. I ordered the burger and it was overcooked and nothing special although it's massive. The rest of our table spoke highly about the shrimp po boy and the maple bacon salad. They had cocktails and beer/wine so it's a good stop for a drink and an app if you are nearby. read more

Caroline's was a mixed bag for us. The service was super friendly and the large patio was a great place to enjoy our meal while people-watching on DuVal. The food was less consistent. The conch fritters were a bit and the Caesar salad went over like gangbusters but the Cajun pasta was just too spicy!! I can't say we weren't forewarned by our lovely waitress! The bigger disappointment was the Reverend Joe Burger. While I was certainly not disappointed by its size, I was less than enthralled by its quality -- it kinda reminded me of the worlds fattest BK whopper. Caroline's is a casual place to grab a meal. I saw that all the reviews raved about the fish sandwich, so that is what I ordered. The filet was so well fried, so crispy on the outside, but the inside was flaky and moist. The sandwich was massive, and I was well sated with this choice. I loved it and ate it all! My friends had a mahi mahi sandwich and a few other dishes but most of our group got the fish sandwich with fries. It's no frills, so yes, the ground is dirty etc as another review mentioned but overall, I would recommend this particular sandwich. read more

Arrived in Key West late and came here on the recommendation of late night food Yelp and Google searches. After a few disappointing iterations in Key Largo, I needed a great fish sandwich and Caroline's delivered. I'm not sure I've ever seen a piece of fish so comically large for the bun but it was as fabulous. Perfectly seasoned, not too much breading, tender flaky fish and crunchy batter. My only gripe was that the bun really should've been toasted as it got soggy by the time the plate made it to us. Fries needed a dash of salt but otherwise spot on. Caroline's was recommended by the manager at Southernmost Beach Resort. He told us that they had great salads, so we thought it was worth a shot. I opted for the Bamboozled Salad, which sounded like a refreshing Asian mandarin chicken salad. Most of the salad was fairly good, but nothing really stood out. The cold grilled chicken was very dry, and incredibly difficult to chew. I pushed it all to the side, so that I could let our waitress know. She didn't come back until we were both done. We finally managed to catch her attention from the other side of the patio, where she had spent most of our meal talking to other staff and patrons. My wife had the Macon & Bacon, which was significantly better than my Bamboozled Salad. The fried chicken was tender and flavorful, and the homemade ranch was particularly thick and flavorful; much better than the commercial stuff. The maple pecans were a bit scorched, but still pretty good. We both had sweet tea, which was probably the sweetest tea either of us has ever had. I would've loved to have had some unsweetened tea to cut it with, but, as our waitress didn't return to our table, we drank our diabetes juice straight. Based on the so-so food, and the nearly complete lack of service, I wouldn't recommend Caroline's. read more

I love the location of this restaurant. It was in down town Key West. We went for an evening dinner. I would have given them five stars however when they brought us the menus. They smell like moldy water. Like someone had to use a dirty rag to clean them with. We almost didn't eat here because of it. But since this places had such a great reviews we decided to stay and try the food. I was super happy with my famous Carolyne fish sandwich. They also had a really great Keylime pie. We had just gotten off of the trolley tour and we're. so hungry. But I noticed a lot of places were very expensive for a basic sandwich or the conch fritters. This place had a lot of outdoor seating on a nice day and was very reasonably priced. We started with the south west egg rolls, which were crispy and hearty without being greasy. I would definitely get them again. My mom got the fish sandwich which was huge and came with nice, fresh and thick lettuce. I got the shrimp BLT, which was also delicious. My only complaint about the shrimp sandwich is that I thought it was going to be a few large grilled shrimp and the shrimp were kind of small and didn't really look like they were grilled... They kind of look like they were frozen shrimp that were just cooked. They still tasted great on the sandwich and I would still get the sandwich again lol. The fries were delicious. The drinks were refreshing and reasonably priced for the area and delivered in a timely manner. and all of the staff was friendly and helpful of one another, bringing food or napkins or drinks, even if you were not their table. We came here after finding out our original dinner place's kitchen was closed for the night when it was 9:15 pm. The party at Duval street was definitely just starting at the time. Caroline's basically had all outdoor seating which i definitely appreciated, and not crowded at all despite every other place on Duval street being pretty packed. But not all the staff members wore masks (probably because they're completely outside and think it's ok). My waitress did not wear a mask, and from my table, I could see that the cook inside the kitchen making food was also not wearing a mask. The food however, was much better than I thought. I ordered the catch of the day which was a grilled mahi mahi which came with steamed broccoli and buttered rice. The mahi mahi was grilled perfectly and the rice and broccoli was more flavorful than I had expected. Definitely my favorite dish. My husband ordered the Shrimp Club Sandwich and it was full of key west shrimp! The shrimp tasted very sweet surprisingly, and perfectly cooked. Service was good but the food was excellent! Out of the five places we "tested" Conch Fritters, Caroline's takes 1st place. They are absolutely flavorful, seasoned and cooked well. We also ordered the fish sandwich to share. It was cooked perfectly and was so huge, a third person could have had some too! The atmosphere was pretty cool too. Great outdoor patio! We went at lunch and it was pretty quiet out there even though there were a good amount of other diners. Decided on the shrimp poboy & it was a great decision! The poboy was pretty large & had a ton of shrimp on it. I really enjoyed the breading on the shrimp! Service was a little on the slower side, but our waiter was very friendly. Wouldn't hesitate to come back. Will agree with another yelper that there are limited Gf options. However, our waiter was very knowledgeable. Peel & eat shrimp are marinated in a sauce that has soy sauce. So not GF friendly, but still delicious with a little peppery kick to it. read more

This end of Duval can be a little bit too touristy. By that I mean big time. Pretty much anything north of Fleming is a tourist trap. That's why Caroline's surprised me. We stopped by here after reading they have a good Cuban Mix sandwich, which is one of my favorites. The bartender was quick and efficient and confirmed that the Cuban was worth ordering. Food came fast and was tasty. I'd come back here again if looking for a sandwich. read more
