Last minute dinner plan. They were very accommodating given the fact we came in 15 mins before they closed. Food was delish. Highly recommend it.

Located downtown Augusta, Kentucky across from the Augusta Irish Pub. Carota's Pizza sells Pizza, subs, hoagies, salads, ice cream, domestic beers, etc. My husband and I were looking for a place to get a light bite before we head to the Baker-Bird Winery. This small restaurant stood out and wanted to try it. The restaurant was pretty clean and decorated vintage (old coke signs and pictures). Very nice. The Hostess seats you and we were really impressed by the menu selection and pricing. Pretty cheap. I got the small fried chicken salad for $5.99 (includes iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, onion, lance crackers and your choice of dressing. I got ranch). My husband got a side salad for $3.29 and small 7" pizza (original crust) for $4.39 (plain cheese). We got our salads first and I was not too impressed with a huge plate with little iceberg lettuce. The chicken tasted from a box. I'm not really picky, but that's how I would describe my meal. You get what you pay for. My husband's pizza came out 10 minutes later. It was hot, but crust was alittle doughy. The sauce lacked taste, needed some seasoning. Our server was friendly, but did not ask if we needed a refill on waters. I had to walk up to the register and asked for one. Bathrooms clean and plenty of parking. I really wanted to like this place, but it was okay.

Pizza...or bread with cheese thrown on top.

This place has went so far down hill. It's a joke. I called this evening to place and order I was told over the phone that I could not use my card to pay. . Fine, whatever mom was still at school so I asked her to pick it up for me. She pays $35 cash for our food. When she gets home she wasn't given half of what we ordered . I call back up demanding a refund from the CASH my mother paid with and I get told they cannot refund me my money....what! . I open the pizza we did get and it looks like this photo. Ridiculous. I drive up and apparently some was called with sense because I was refunded for the items I didn't get. My evening wasted, no dinner. We will NEVER be eating food from this place again. This county needs a real pizza restaurant.

Had the cauliflower crust pizza for lunch today. It was very tasking and the portions from the toppings was generous.

Cute little town and great pizza! You can choose thin crust or hand tossed. We had the tossed and loved it.

When we arrived there were two booths with customers and a sign that said seat yourself. We found a booth and some menus and waited for a server. We were greeted shortly thereafter and gave a drink order. Water for me and a beer for my husband. Then we ordered some Fried Mushrooms for an appetizer and a large Pepperoni and Mushroom pizza. Then we waited. And waited. And waited. 40 minutes later we were delivered a barely warm pizza and fried mushrooms. My husband asked the girl who brought the pizza for another beer - since he had finished it and we hadn't seen our server again - and she said she would tell our server. Then we started to eat and realized that we didn't have any napkins, plates, or silverware. Nothing. So... after waiting for several minutes... I decided to get up and go get them myself. The bartender came out from the bar and asked what I needed. I told her, she gave them to me and apologized. Then our server overheard and said it was the fault of the runner who brought us our cold dinner - as she grabbed the beer to bring to my husband. The food - not great at all. Maybe it would've been better had it been brought out to us when it was done. It had obviously been sitting in the back for awhile. The cheese had no pull since it was cold, the mushrooms on top were cold. The fried mushrooms were greasy and started to get soggy from sitting. They had good flavor so they may have been better had they been served right away. During our time waiting for our food we watched one man walk up with cash in his hand, looking for the server, so that he could pay and leave. That left us as the only people in the dining room. There were people in the small bar area and that seems to be where all the servers stay. They were not short staffed. We saw several workers in the bar area and in the back kitchen area. They definitely aren't understaffed. Also - heads up - there is a 4% charge for using a credit card. The highest I've seen yet. So, bring cash for your cold pizza.

Instead, we found a restaurant conducting what appeared to be a live experiment in lowering expectations. Before anyone welcomed us, we were informed that someone "wasn't supposed to be here until 4." We then discovered they had no beer, no ice, and very little interest in pretending either was unusual. It was roughly 95 degrees outside, so naturally we asked if there was somewhere cool to sit. We were seated on the patio while the air-conditioned thrift shop--with restaurant seating--remained comfortably available to everyone except paying customers. Now let's discuss the food. We ordered mozzarella sticks, garlic bread, and two pizzas. The mozzarella sticks never arrived. The garlic bread arrived with the pizzas, suggesting the kitchen has adopted a refreshingly flexible interpretation of the word appetizer. Margo spent most of the meal trying to identify what flavor the pizza was intended to be. After several bites, the leading theory remained "none." It's surprisingly difficult to remove all personality from pizza, yet here we are. The antique shop behind the restaurant was genuinely enjoyable. Admittedly, I spent most of that visit wondering whether the building had been condemned before or after opening hours. Overall, we invested two hours of windshield time for a meal that seemed only loosely committed to being a restaurant. One star for the antique shop. One star because eventually we were fed. The hour-long drive home was, by a comfortable margin, the most satisfying part of the evening
