My wife Margo and I drove an hour to Pig Out Pizza because the reviews suggested we'd found one of those hidden gems. Instead, we found a restaurant conducting what appeared to be a live experiment in lowering expectations. Before anyone welcomed us, we were informed that someone "wasn't supposed to be here until 4." We then discovered they had no beer, no ice, and very little interest in pretending either was unusual. It was roughly 95 degrees outside, so naturally we asked if there was somewhere cool to sit. We were seated on the patio while the air-conditioned thrift shop--with restaurant seating--remained comfortably available to everyone except paying customers. Now let's discuss the food. We ordered mozzarella sticks, garlic bread, and two pizzas. The mozzarella sticks never arrived. The garlic bread arrived with the pizzas, suggesting the kitchen has adopted a refreshingly flexible interpretation of the word appetizer. Margo spent most of the meal trying to identify what flavor the pizza was intended to be. After several bites, the leading theory remained "none." It's surprisingly difficult to remove all personality from pizza, yet here we are. The antique shop behind the restaurant was genuinely enjoyable. Admittedly, I spent most of that visit wondering whether the building had been condemned before or after opening hours. Overall, we invested two hours of windshield time for a meal that seemed only loosely committed to being a restaurant. One star for the antique shop. One star because eventually we were fed. Really bummed I wasted my money ! The calzone doesn't have ricotta? It was a folded pizza ... the lasagna tasted like some dumped a ton of sugar in the red sauce and there was barely any ricotta to speak of , I have had better frozen tv dinners .. This is such a great little rustic. place. We're visiting from out of state... and just down the street from where we were staying. The pizza was great and the service was so friendly... plus, we enjoyed some cold ones out on the patio. I recommend. read more

from service to food this place was perfect! there were 8 of us and the xl pizza was cut into squares for us and it was eno for us all. The waitress made sure we had all we needed and was attentive as well as helpful. the playground was perfect for all the kids. don't forget to get a brownie too. they grounds were clean and so was the bathroom. def don't miss this place. worth the drive. Great server, amazing food! We ordered a bit of everything--pizza, fries, hoagies, and wings--and everything was spot on. The Pig Out pizza was especially awesome; it reminded me of those old-school personal pan pizzas from Pizza Hut in the '90s. Thick, cheesy, and packed with flavor, just like I remembered! My husband and I love coming here but it's always a 60 /40 chance if they will take our order. More than half of the time we call they will put us on hold and then hang up, tell us they're too busy to take our order or won't even pick up the phone. Pizza is usually good but you never know what style of pizza you are getting it's always a surprise. I would try to recommend but never know if they will actually take your order! read more

Both were good. The pizza is fairly thick and about halfway between hand tossed and deep dish. Friendly and attentive staff. Took an hour drive out to Butler, KY today to try this place. OH MY GOSH! What a cute place! They have two antique stores located in front and behind the restaurant. We went in to this adorable little restaurant and was greeted by a sweet young woman who seated us inside as we asked. Promptly got our drinks and gave us some great recommendations. We were so hungry we really went bananas on our order. Loaded pig tails, cheese bread, supreme pizza and the chicken bacon ranch pizza. I told you, we were hungry! Everything was so hot and fresh! The pizza was absolutely amazing. It's a thicker crust loaded with toppings! But let me tell you abt the loaded pig tails. We couldn't stop eating them! They are, hands down the BEST I have ever had. It was absolutely worth the drive and we will certainly be back. Warning, wear your "fat" pants. Because you will be so stuffed and plan on leftovers! We arrived and were seated in the house, which is very homey and full of antique items. First time here. Server Ariana was gracious and fun. The portions are amazing, so large and homemade. I had the spaghetti with homemade tomato sauce - yum - and the garlic bread was light and flaky, just perfectly done. My niece had a sandwich which she could only eat half of.
