We stopped in for a quick treat to bring back to hotel with us after eating at restaurant nearby. The shop is small and filled with so much snacks that you could imagine! It smelled great like candy popcorn but not so overwhelming either. It was a nice smell. The guy who helped was quick to greet us and get us what we needed. We chose toffee caramel covered apple and a chocolate toffee candy square. The candy square was good but goodness it was a bit hard for me to even break so little nibbles we took. The caramel chocolate covered apple we got was so good.

Sweet tooth destination when strolling the Monterey Wharf Dessert: One can never go wrong with their conventional caramel and peanut apple. The apple was ripened and crunchy with the right amount of soft caramel. Depending on the day, the apples are not always crisp. The second must is the caramel popcorn which was freshly popped and served warmly to us in a cute red / white striped box to preserve its flavor. The cotton candy is buy 3 get 1 free and I encourage one to stick to the pink and blue. I usually skip the taffy since it's on the tougher side for me. Service: The employee was kind and helpful. It was quick service in and out. When it's a busy day though the line can look troublesome but it is always manageable for them. Ambiance: Same cute candy shop look since my childhood. I love the old fashion salt water taffy and popcorn industrial machines for kids to observe.

As someone who grew up in the area, this is a nostalgic stop for some sweet treats. There are lots of candy confections, chocolates, an ice cream counter, & candied apples. I typically enjoy English Toffee or an English Toffee Apple that they will slice for you. This time around, we got some caramel corn. We found it tasty, but very caramelized to the point that some bites were hard on the teeth. It became easier & softer to eat the next day. Customer service was a straightforward experience. The shop is small & narrow, so it can fill up quickly with other customers. It smells wonderfully sugary sweet from the caramel corn.

I stop here every time I visit the wharf. I always get the carmel popcorn, a few pieces of chocolate and ice cream. Staff is friendly and they offer military discounts!

Great salt water taffy. I had chocolate covered bacon which was amazing. The salty taste from the bacon with the chocolate was a great mix. Kind of pricey because of being on the wharf.

The best fudge on the planet, period! And I've been coming here for over 35 years, so I guess I'm an authority on the place :-)

Five stars for the caramelliest (I just made up a word!) caramel corn EVER! The end.

Overpriced candy for what it is. Seriously, $3 for ONE chocolate strawberry? This was towards closing too which I'm sure it was out all day.

It's super soft with a deep chocolate taste, lots of flavors to choose from such as german chocolate cake, cookies and cream etc or classics like milk chocolate and dark chocolate etc. The sign says 1/4 pound minimum for fudge purchases. So I chose 2 flavors and asked for 1/8 pound of each, which would total the minimum requirement of 1/4 pound fudge. However, worker clarified that the sign meant 1/4 pound minimum for EACH flavor. Ended up choosing the Rocky Road chocolate and I was so delighted to eat it! Highly recommend the fudge, can't recommend anything else here really.

Candy World is one the most effective tourist traps I've ever seen, a big, barn-red candy store…read moreright at the start of Old Fisherman's Wharf. My four-year-old was mad when we walked past it, and only moved on because I promised we could go back if he didn't get a sweet treat at one of the other shops. We walked the whole way down the wharf and my son still wanted Candy World, it's like the storefront imprinted itself on his vulnerable little mind. We were with our two-year-old and four-year-old nephew too, and all three boys were thrilled to go inside--like kids in a candy store, as the saying goes. There were stacks of buckets by the entrance, and we took one almost reflexively, falling deeper into the trap. The store was bursting with candy, just barrels and barrels of taffy and lollipops and every candy you might find in your average drugstore. The prices were astonishing. $4 for a ring pop, $6 for one of those flashlight candies that always show up in party favors. It took some work declining to buy those for my kids. We decided to get some fudge instead, and paid like $12 for small pieces of milk chocolate and dark chocolate sea salt caramel. Service was fast and helpful enough, and the kids devoured that milk chocolate. I tasted it and while it wasn't especially good, it was spectacularly sweet. The sugar was almost gritty on my teeth. The dark chocolate sea salt caramel was slightly better. If my kids had had their way, they would've filled that bucket to the top, and the bill might have climbed well into the hundreds. Candy World trapped us, but I feel like we got out relatively unscathed.
