As someone else mentioned, the people you speak with over the phone to place the order are very clear-spoken and easy to understand. That is not always the case - you usually have to just cross your fingers and hope the finished arrangement/personal message will be just as you meant for them to be. Since I have used Carousel a few times over the years for small orders, and the results have been satisfactory, I will give three stars. This recent visit is likely a deal breaker. I had ordered a small wedding bouquet weeks ahead of time and it didn't appear to be ready when I arrived. It appeared to be tossed together, on its last legs, and different from what I had ordered. Full price was charged. I didn't reject it because the next day was a holiday, and the wedding was the following day. Desperate, I found a florist who was open on the holiday. who verified the poor condition of it. This florist went above and beyond to accommodate me with a presentable package for the wedding. read more

I used Carousel Flowers to send my mom flowers to her work for Mother's Day. They delivered in less than 24hrs of me placing the order! This was the first time I used CF, but I had previously used other florists in the area, and my mother was so impressed with the size and health of the flowers that CF used (even tho I just went with the basic flowers vs the better/best option)! They also send email updates throughout the whole process so I knew as soon as the flowers delivered. Bad flowers, horrible customer service - ESPECIALLY Joe Scola. I ordered FTD flowers for our 2 year anniversary. The bouquet was pictued to have over 30 flowers, including multiple large Lillies. The bouquet received was literally the cheapest flowers you can buy. It had about 20 flowers. Aside from 3 roses, all the rest were carnations and daisies and alstroemeria, and a bunch of green filler -. It was less flowers and the same quality as a "3 for $12" at the grocery store. When I called, the first lady was very apologetic and said it was clearly not up to standard. Joe Scola, who called me back, was rude, and had about 15 excuses. Throughout, he implied this was my fault, and that I should have spent more. He tried to say that alstroemeria is an equal replacement for Lillies, which is completely ridiculous. He said his cooler was empty, and thats all they had. He said it was FTDs fault. He said it was my fault. He laughed at my concerns and did not show any concern. DO NOT use this florist. UPDATE - per the owner below, no Joe Scola works there. That's the name he gave me over the phone after pausing when I asked twice. That's how much they care. Keep it classy, Carousel. The refund is appropriate given the experience, thank you. read more

I get a little nervous when ordering things like flowers online. Is it going to look like the picture or something atrocious? My friend's father passed away and I wanted to send something nice. I looked at the standard 1-800 places and it just seemed to be a crap shoot with them. I like to know who I am purchasing from, not random "local floral shop" listed on those sites. Yes, I need a face to the name. Here comes in Carousel. They had many beautiful arrangements on their site. Ordering online was quick, easy and convenient. You get an email confirmation of the order, then a confirmation the shop received your order and finally a confirmation the flowers arrived. Perfect for hyper people like myself. I did call to see if the flowers could arrive before 3pm and that was not problem. Funeral services actually get first delivery of the day. The flowers I ordered were even better than the picture. In fact, someone sent the same arrangement as me. The flower pieces were next to each other and (hate to say it) but my flowers looked fuller, had bigger blooms and more color that the other one. I was so pleased with it! Great to do business with a local florist who cares about their work. I will definitely be ordering from Carousel again. read more

I just got off the phone with the Carousel flower shop and they SAVED THE DAY! I ordered flowers for my friends birthday from an online flower express place, for same day delivery (I live in California). Just before my friends bday party was to start, the online flower place called and said that they couldn't deliver the flowers till monday!!! Heartbroken, I called Carousel's and related my sob story, asking if they could get flowers to my friend in time. The wonderful lady on the phone said they were closing in five minutes...but give her a second. She talked to the owner's son and they said that they would do it! They saved the day and got the flowers to my friend in time for her birthday party and they were gorgeous. I wish they were in CA where I live so I could patronize them!! There is something about flowers. Love them or hate them; everyone seems to have an opinion about them. Whether you have no clue or whether you can spout off every botanical name like Martha Stewart everyone seems to have an opinion about them. If you are like me, your opinion when receiving them is that you're delighted! Carousel Flowers is a tiny shop on the southern part of the main drag in Elmhurst. Amazingly, I have never ordered anything here, but I received a lovely arrangement from them. Magically colorful, all types of blooms, not chincy with the high end flowers, not loaded with fillers. It is so pretty. I drove by Carousel today and I almost missed it. It is very close to residential and the storefront, at least for me, had a lot going on. Very busy. Almost too busy. What did I tell you ... everyone has an opinion. But for me, the proof is in the product and I love their product. Though I'm clueless on their prices, I can tell you that what I received did not have the look of an arrangement that 375 other females received. That, as a lover of flowers, makes me happy. The staff at Carousel Flowers was absolutely amazing for my special day! Kyle was phenomenal! My wedding was last summer, and I really didn't give them much lead time at all. They did a fantastic job, kept me within my budget, and had everything done perfectly, seamlessly, and kept me stress free! They provided gorgeous bouquets (mine plus 6 bridesmaids), flowers for special guests, decor for the trellis we were married under which we were able to repurpose for our sweetheart table, and centerpieces for 22 tables and several highboys. I found thus flower shop online since it was in the area where I wanted a floral spray delivered to a funeral home. First, I placed the order on a Sunday, and Karen immediately called me to discuss and confirm. What great customer service! Second, Karen warned me about substitutions if the flowers came in "closed." She did sub different flowers without changing the integrity and beauty of the arrangement. When I got to the wake and saw the flowers, I was so happy as they were the most beautiful there, and the arrangement was as beautiful if not more than the photo online. Carousel did a fantastic job! I stopped in for the first time after many years of driving by and always wondering what's inside. They have a beautiful assortment of Christmas decor and are reasonably priced. The owner was very knowledgeable and helpful in choosing a fresh floral arrangement that I wanted delivered the same day.
