My first visit to American Dream Mall and came with a friend who recommended this restaurant! We made reservations for 12:00pm and we're seated right away. The restaurant is big with spacious outdoor and indoor seating. They provided us with two menus a drink and food menu. We placed our cocktails order - the Santa Muerte was amazing and strong ! One of my friends ordered a cappuccino and she said it was good as well! We started off with some appetizers, they added oysters to their menu so that was a must to try! We also ordered calamari. The calamari was by far the best I have had. DELICIOUS ! The oysters came with some sauces and they were good. For our entree's we ordered spaghetti bolognese which was flavorful. My friends son definitely enjoyed the spaghetti! I had the chicken parmigiana and it was a big portion, cooked perfectly, there is a small side of mashed potatoes that comes with it. Lastly the meatballs and a salad were good! The meatballs were a good size, comes in 2. My friend said it's one of the best salads she has had. Overall, great experience, reserve if you can. All the way around - from the moment the host greeted us and showed us to our table to our waiter, Enrique making great recommendations and was attentive throughout. During my visit to north Jersey, a good friend and I got together and decided to explore the American Dream mall, which I had always been curious about. It is definitely an enormous complex and all the walking and browsing put us in the mood for a light bite and some wine; Carpaccio definitely fit the bill. The restaurant had an elegant but not intimidating ambiance. We decided to sit in the patio area and ordered salmon carpaccio (I thought that was appropriate, given the restaurant's name) and a white wine suggested by our very friendly server. The carpaccio was so fresh and melt-in-your-mouth good, and the white wine paired exceptionally well with the dish. These were accompanied by crusty artisan bread and olive oil dip. So we came back to the mall... to try it and get a few 'steps' to help what we figured was going to be a filling meal. We started with the Insalata Parmigiana (marinated portobello mushrooms, shaved parmesan cheese on arugala lettuce. Pretty yummy. I love parpadelle pasta, so I opted for the parpadelle / lamb ragu. I couldn't get enough of this great dish. My wife had their linguine seafood, which she too enjoyed. A couple of glasses of wine and we were off to finish getting our 10,000 step. We did the comedy / dinner night because we had heard that carpaccio had opened a second location in Jersey after their one in Miami was so successful. This was supposed to be a "high-end" Italian restaurant. My wife ordered the salmon and it came prepared in a cream sauce which I assume was their attempt at a Tuscan salmon. It was inedible and she left the whole thing on the plate. Quite possibly one of the worst dishes I've ever tasted. The waiter came and graciously offered to replace the dish. I urged her to choose the veal piccata which was not quite as awful but still bad. The apps (meatballs and calamari) were good not great. The only dish that was good was pappardelle with lamb ragu which saved my dining experience and explains my 2 rating. At this price I could have had an incredible meal in NY and caught professional comedy at The Comedy Cellar or Village Underground for $60. Extremely disappointed. We started with a round of drinks. I ordered a Jane's 26, which caught my eye because it had an interesting combination of flavors. Condensed milk, mango purée, and cinnamon... I wasn't really sure what to expect, but I was intrigued enough to try. Not my favorite drink in the world, but it did have enough cinnamon flavor that I would put it in a holiday drink category. It was a fun try. Next, I ordered the gondoleta pasta. What a great choice. This dish is well presented and packed with flavor. I was very full by the end! The sauce was so good that I found myself scraping my fork along it to taste more after the pasta was gone. My partner ordered the chicken Caesar salad and found it to be a solid meal, although beware that the chicken in a $10 up charge. Our friends seemed equally pleased with their mixed drinks and meals. Cons: they're at the end of the mall where nothing is, so it is an out of the way walk. Prices are slightly above what I typically expect for mall restaurants. It's all the way on the 2nd floor of American dream building C yet well worth the walk which you'll work up an appetite. Our server was John J.P. Very nice and easy going as he was able to have the chef make a kid friendly item just for our kids. The desert was a awesome designed apple pie with powdered sugar cinamon and a chocolate drizzle by the vanilla ice cream. We paired that with 2 expresso martinis. The manager Michelle was more than kind. You have an eclectic delicious creative menu subtract the snobbiness that other establishments of this caliber would have. Family friendly date night. Apparently tables by the bar are served by the bartender. (Even the low tops.) Second day of opening at the American Dream Mall in NJ. Offspring of the Villagio from Miami, Fl. Bravo loved every bite. Fresh, tasty and perfectly portioned foods. I was a bit hesitant at first but trust me come and enjoy the cuisine. Menu is not too large which is a testament to the quality control and freshness of the food. Every single item we ordered was seasoned just right. Will definitely visit again so worth it. This has the potential to be a really cool place but for now, the pandemic and poorly occupied "Avenue" portion of this mall seem to have pushed this place back to the farm leagues at the moment. This was the most amazing Italian experience! And in a MALL nonetheless. The environment and ambiance is beautiful and right near Saks, Hermes & DG. There's also amazing natural light it feels like eating outside. This food is absolutely incredible. Best Italian in northern NJ & NYC metro area that we've had. The staff is so kind, personable, and attentive. James is the best!!!! We also brought our dog Chip, and the staff was so pet friendly. We had the branzino special and would highly recommend. Located in the high and quiet corner of the mall this gave a peaceful and pleasant atmosphere for lunch, versus the food court in the middle of the mall, which was chaotic, to say the least. Beef Carpaccio was okay, felt it had too much "dressing" which overpowered the beef flavor. Didn't feel like they use fresh ingredients for the salad and the salad dressing as it left a bad aftertaste which lingered overnight. Pizza was a bit undercooked, which left it soggy in the middle. The fish dish was not stellar for the price, as it was bland and a bit over cooked. Pasta dishes were over cooked, which resulted in broken pieces. Also felt all the dishes were oversalted. Service was a little sparse, but really no fault to our waiter as he had to manage tables both inside and outside restaurant. Seven dollars yes $7.00 for a bottle of soda from Mexico which was flat. I've had better from the food truck for a fraction of the cost. Probably only come here to avoid the craziness in the food court, but wouldn't come back just for the restaurant. read more

They try serving upscale dishes with upscale prices but the quality of the meats etc are just not on par. Plus the fact this is in a mall. The service was the worst part about the experience. Last weekend was my second time here (I always give places a second shot in case they were having an off day) and both times went similarly. Staff is plain rude from the servers up to management. If you aren't spending big money they can care less about you or your experience here. My steak was ordered as medium rare and it came out almost well done. When I asked the server to fix it she sent over a manager, I explained the mishap to him and he sent over another manager. I again explained what happened and just asked for it to be switched out. He began repeating the word "no" "no,no, no, no" I don't even know what that was about. He told me to wait and he sent out the chef. The chef said that's what I ordered so that's what they made. I began to explain that I could ensure I ordered medium rare as I never order any other way and I said it could of been a mistake when entered in which is fine I just wanted it to be fixed. Well, he said "we don't make mistakes here. I know how to cook meat properly and what you have is fine". He then walked away. Baffled, I asked the waitress for the check and we left. I still left 20% cause I'm sure it was an honest mistake by the server. I'm more upset with how upper management treated me. Honestly if you need to eat while at this mall I suggest going to Yard, Best Pizza, or Doner. You'll get a better meal and have a better experience.
