I bought an 11 year old 17' Four Winns Horizon from Dodo Brockman, late August 2011. I'm new to boats so I followed my gut in regards to trusting him. He assured me that the engine was primo and the boat was in great condition. He offered a sea trial but I passed on it and opted to just pick up the boat because I was almost out of Summer and wanted to get it into the water. He assured me that the engine was tip top shape and that he would fix the trim indicator when the part came in. He also offered to do the Fall winterization. I couldn't be happier! I managed to get it into the water 4 times before it got too cold and discovered that Dodo is a man of his word, the boat is awesome, it's like new (amazing for an 11 year old boat) and he came through as he said he would on the trim. It runs very nicely and it is in like new condition - as he said it was. He obviously spent some time and money waxing it and assuring the engine and the boat are in top condition. He winterized it in October and did the trim work he promised. I'm very happy with the boat and with Freeport Boat Outlet. Good people. Dodo does what he says he will do. You can trust these guys.

Instead, nothing came. I made multiple phone calls and sent several emails asking for tracking information and an estimated delivery date. Each time, I was given excuses or vague responses. They never once provided a tracking number or proof that my order was even shipped. Days turned into weeks, and it became clear they were not delivering on what I paid for. When I asked for a refund, they refused. That left me with no part, no information, and nearly $12,000 tied up. I eventually had to file a dispute with my credit card company, which dragged on for months before I finally got my money back. Meanwhile, I was forced to source the lower unit from another dealer on my own just to get my boat back in service. I use that term as loosely as it comes ... that was there proceeded to ask me about the outboard engine and then went further to degrade me with idiotic questions to make sure I didn't know what I was doing. I quickly saw the red flag and thanked him for his time and exited. He followed me out the door screaming that I was an F'ing idiot and had no business owning a boat. I kept my composure and got into my car ... as I waited for traffic, I could hear him continuing out the parking lot yelling profanities until I drove away and couldn't hear him. NEVER IN MY LIFE HAVE I BEEN TREATED WITH SUCH DISRESPECT AS A CUSTOMER ... What could have been a life-long customer relationship, was a zero sale. Not only will I never return for a boat cleat or drop of oil ... I HIGHLY RECOMMEND NO ONE THAT KNOWS ME EVER STEP FOOT ON THE PREMISES.
