We stopped by Carpet Man Flooring Orange Park because Hubby saw their roadside billboard advertisement. They're located in orange park just past O'Reilly Auto Parts. Make a right onto wells road from Blanding Blvd. We were met by a really nice guy. Didn't get his name but he's been there a long time. We were looking for laminate flooring that's waterproof. They didn't have a huge selection, unfortunately. They do have lots of floor carpet. This is why I only gave 3 stars. Maybe they'll be useful in the future. read more

First, let's say that Billie is an amazing man. Make sure if you're buying carpet go straight to Billie or ask for Billie directly. He is military friendly he will give you the best pricing even if there is any issues in your order, he will take care of you in the most diligent manner possible. I appreciate his tenacity and his workmanship. Completely unprofessional and unethical. Spoke with James Henley trying to verify a carpet installation invoice that was given by the landlord for a full carpet replacement. The landlord did everything to claim entire $3600 security deposit. Received email from mr Ron Ingram who said I spoke with him and impersonated the landlord and tried to claim I was trying to get landlord credit card info. He added landlord and property management company to the email so they could threaten lawsuit and went MIA. Landlords home went up for sale. Had several people Goto open houses. Carpet is not new. As a tenant we have legal rights and I plan to excercise every one of them. read more

I'm looking for a new area rug for my great Room. A friend suggested I go to carpet man flooring on Wells road. Walking in to this Establishment, it can be overwhelming given the amount of rugs they have. Though limited on area rugs they can custom-make anything you want from the remnants they have. The gentleman who spoke to me when I 1st came man was very pleasant and helpful, he was in installer and said that he would get someone to talk with me. I had the distinct privilege of talking with Ron Ingram an Army veteran (THANK YOU for your service to our country). In great detail Ron explained to me the various options and showed me what was already available. He took his time never once looked at his watch or rushing me off. He was open to negotiations and he was able to successfully explain to me the various grades of carpeting and what Would-be best for my situation. Hands down I will say that customer-service from Ron and the installer whom I spoke too when I 1st arrived was outstanding and warranted of my business. I am going to look at having something custom-made in the near future. If you need carpeting, tile, laminate or even a custom area rug go see Ron he will take excellent care of you!!! read more

The WORST experience ever!!!! I recommend you NOT use this service. I will never recommend them to anyone. I got pushed around from person to person. Then my install date got cancelled I had to call more than 5 days in a row to fix their issue (after my $1,100 was already paid to them) and get them to give me new date. Then I was called back by a whole new person telling me my sales guy was on a long leave of absence!!!! Finally got the install done and then I called 3 times to pay remainder after I was going to talk to them about the customer service part of my experience and felt there should have been even $30 taken off just to show they cared! I was then told my original sales guy was in jail and was a drunk they didn't know when he would be back and they would call me back themself! I never got a call! Over a month later my original sales guy calls me demanding payment & so being hesitant to give my credit card information to someone I have heard so much bad issues going on I tried to call managers and customer care! The ONLY one who even cared to listen to me was Janet in customer care. She was going to call OP manager and have him call me to talk. I get a call thinking he had talked to her and the manager Wade in OP. Tells me she is nothing but a secretary and it didn't matter what she had to say..... then tells me I have been over 30 days (remember my sales guy just came back less than a week) somehow it's my fault no one wanted to call me back for payment. They becomes very rude and tells me what happened to me didn't matter and I will have a lien on my house Monday morning! I called Janet back let her know and she showed some words of compassion and like I said from the beginning I never had an issues to pay, I paid her all owed. I would have at least liked if I could have gotten some respect or compassion but they place could care less about you! They are very unprofessional and they are not where I would ever spend my money again! read more

We needed help replacing our hardwood floor and subfloor. Carpet Man had done some work for us before and did a great job! So we are a returning customer. We worked with Doug, who orchestrated everything we needed. In the beginning, the overall experience with Doug was excellent! However, we had an issue with the sub-contractor (labor) hired by Carpet Man. The installers ran over the "well pump pipeline" that pulls the water up from the bottom of the well. It was hours before we realized we had no water. Of course, we called a plumber! Before the plumber arrived, I discovered the floor installers had cut and pulled out a portion of the PVC, trying to glue the broken pipe back together. I stopped them. After all, they were not plumbers. The pump ran (dry) for hours; it was fried! Long story short, their mistake costs us an extra $1,629.00. Since we didn't know the subcontractor's name, we had to work through Doug to try and re-coop the cost. Doug told us the subcontractor would have to submit the bill to their insurance company and wait for payment. Insurance companies do take some time, and we understand that. For two months, that is what we believed. After 90 days, we were done dealing with Doug. My husband finally got the subcontractor's name and phone number. We called the company; no claim was filed on our behalf. The Supervisor said the breakage was our fault. Who has been lying, Doug? Perhaps the subcontractor to Doug? We paid the Carpet Man $10,140.00 for labor and materials. There has not been any offer from Carpet Man to correct their subcontractor's mistake. All I can say is be aware of who does the work in your home. The bottom line is always the dollar, no matter whose pocket it comes from. read more

I contacted Carpet Man on a Monday to have new carpet and vinyl flooring installed. I was doing this all remotely as I live out of state. They came out on Tuesday for measurements, "Shelley" mailed me samples to see the product. They came and installed on Thursday & Friday. From start to finish it took less than a week, even with being out of town and everything being handled remotely. I arrived this past week to verify the quality and everything was perfect. All corners and molding was left undamaged and reinstalled properly. The entire process was seamless from start to finish.... We bought an 12 x 12 area rug from them. It needed to be bound so we didn't set a delivery date because the salesmen didn't have an exact time line for the binding, but he estimated the following Wednesday. A week or so later he called and said the guy who does the binding was sick, and it would be a few more weeks. Long story short we got 3 to 4 more delays, "my delivery guy will call you..." and never did. We tried to cancel the order but because the delivery date was left open on the invoice and the salesmen lied to my CC that there was never a delivery agreement I eventually had to go pick up the rug with my own truck. I'm so upset with this company right now. We paid 2 weeks ago to have carpet installed in our business on Oct 8th. (We are closed on Monday) We spent all night on Oct 7th moving everything out for the install at 9:00 AM on the 8th. At 10:45 AM we get a call that they aren't going to be able to install because the installer has a sick kid. Their solution is to push it to NEXT Monday. WE ALREADY HAVE EVERYTHING MOVED OUT heavy stuff! Desks, Filing cabinets, computers. Beware!!! While the website says laminate flooring installed (Bare room price $1.75) Actual was $2.00 Communication is about as good as you expect from the cable guy... After 3 days of phone calls and messages I finally got a response. We paid in advance to be put on the schedule for a timely install... 5 days later (After check had already been paid) it was "Guys will be on site between 9 - 11" Then it was "Guys will be onsite between 12 - 2" While the installers were very polite, I didn't feel accommodated in the least; when asked "Why are there ripples in the flooring?" we were told "They will pop after a while" 24 hours later NO POP! The floor looks like the surf at daybreak "Sets rolling in from the left" I wish I could post pictures of this inferior installation as they say "Pictures paint a thousand words" well here's a few more. I had an expectation of product and installation that I would be receiving from Carpet Man Flooring before I met Bob. I was moving from Seattle and needed the job to be perfect. This was a traumatizing experience moving so far away and not being able to oversee the job. Bob assured me he would have the job done perfectly. My hardwood floors are beautiful. The installers had a few tricky parts to layout and they pulled it off like it was nothing. I love the installers. We had a couple of gouges in the hardwoods during the furniture move and the installers came back and fixed it as if it never happened. It was noisy but worth it. My carpet is also looking REALLY nice. I have 2000 sqft of beautiful flooring now, thanks to Bob and Carpet Man. Roxanne read more

If I could give negative start I would. First they ripped my carpet and tracks out . Think it's going good but in all the furniture moving the broke a tile in my bathroom. My floors were done 3/22/19 . They said. A tile guy would call me it is 6/23/19 .. still waiting. They were late to the app so they were here till until midnight . Back to the tracks took them 1 month to get that fixed and a lot of phone calls .he missed multiple appts . Finally he shows now it was drilled in my sub before he said I'm doing this just. As a favor for you , I don't do doors .. I'm not asking him to fix the door but when u ripped out the carpet u pulled up the track . I would think u would be responsible to put that track back down . I'm asking u to finish the job .. still no word back from the tile .. don't think I'll ever hear from them wade was the the guy I talked to . And James is the tile guy that is supposed to be calling me . I won't hold my breath .... will never recommend them to anyone!!!! read more

The crew came out to install the flooring. When they were getting ready to wrap things up one of the installers asked if things were ok. I was very unhappy with the transition pieces. One was cut too short. Looked really bad. So he put white caulk to try to fill it in as there were at least 1/8 on both ends where it didn't meet the wall. I told him I didn't like his idea and he said that was all he could do. So I contacted the salesman and he scheduled a crew to come out first thing Friday 4/9/21 and they were a no show. I contacted him again and they were scheduled to come out a little after 9 today, 4/10/21. We got a call last night to confirm the appointment. It is now 10:45 and haven't seen or heard a word from the installers. We have things to do today and now we're ANOTHER NO SHOW!!! We've tried to call the store, lead installer and the salesman and just get voice mails. We are very unhappy customers with crappy installation. BEWARE! read more

UPDATE: After my review a few months ago, the manager called me and seemed sincerely sorry this happened. He said Adrian wouldn't be working there anymore. I don't know if he is or not, but the good news is, our local sheriff's office along with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, recovered my dad's items that were stolen!!! The company did a good job and the other carpet installer was fine, but watch out for Adrian! The last I heard there was an active warrant out on him. I just hope this doesn't happen to anyone else! read more

Would give zero stars if possible. James downplayed the importance of good padding - we just didn't know that at the time. Went in and selected a carpet on Friday. The person to come take measurements never called. We called James Wednesday, he then had her call us to schedule appt for measurements. She was fine, came out next day. Afterwards though, he called to tell us he sold all of the carpet we had selected. We then drove all the way back out to OP last minute after work to try and look for another carpet choice. They didn't have anything similar and we were told a very careless "Sorry" with a shoulder shrug. Mind you this entire time we're living on concrete in two bedrooms. They wasted a whole Week of our time and we were back to square one. Went to a nearby competitor around the corner and got better padding, better carpet and at a better price! They also got us in just as fast as James at the Carpet Man had said was what made their store so great. Laughable. read more

WE DO NOT RECOMMEND 'CARPET MAN' (along with other local families we have talked to at sports/community activities since our experience)!! We've found them very unprofessional and unethical - verbal assaults and threats. FYI - Read owner's narcissistic responses to unfavorable reviews, manipulates review to point finger at customer and uses CAPS to emphasize he will not accept fault for anything. (Sorry for long review, but trying to be fairly inclusive of our experience thus far - will update along the way). We are new to area and met/discussed our home project with them for over a month and hired them for services. Price seemed good up front (read below for final costs)... Product is typical/average as expected for medium grade LVP. After first day on job, they admitted to making a major error in estimate, which cost our family extraordinary time, money (including missed days of work for extra week of contractors in home)... let alone stress of 4 people and 2 large dogs confined to small bonus room and 1 bath for extra unexpected week, plus no kitchen/cooking or laundry hookups. Carpet Man management stated in email this morning that consideration to us for their admitted error is "not warranted". Overall cost for Carpet Man far exceeded other organizations/options. On day 8, contractor brought in someone to help with finishing project. They were here nearly 12 hours and came to me saying they were done and I needed to sign a paper and give them $7,870 check. I was home alone with my two young children and the installer (whom we communicated with during project) plus two other me surrounding me and telling me to sign a paper and give them a large check. Exhausted and uncomfortable, I signed under duress with enough momentary sense to make a note that credit card payment would be pending. The installer stated if we had any problems/issues to contact Carpet Man. After they left and we looked around house, we found incorrect product/installation and substandard workmanship. Contacting Carpet Man was a waste. They constantly tried to tell us that they "heard" our floors looked great. FAR from the truth!! We were and are still digging out from dirt and rubble from personal items/property and antiques not being covered at demo/install, as well as contractor damage to our home and the floors. Carpet Man demanded final payment and said they'd send contractor to fix things AFTER they received full payment. My husband and I reluctantly agreed to convey $6,000 in good faith until they fixed their errors and damages. They harassed me nonstop demanding I give date/time for installer right away. Unfortunately, we had so much school, work, etc to make up this week from missing last week that we could not take time off again right away. My first attempt to have a conversation with General Manager, Ron Ingram, to discuss situation and plan the resolution was COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL!! On speakerphone, Ron Ingram demanded payment, demanded that I right then and there give him date/time for contractor to come back, cussed me out, threatened me and hung up on me in front of my husband and other parents listening nearby. When my husband called him back on speakerphone, Ron Ingram cussed him out, referred to me as "the damn wife", challenged my husband to come to his office and hung up on him. We immediately contacted our Carpet Man salesman to inform him of the occurrence. When the owner, Chris Jackson, was informed, we received an email back ignoring the Manager's verbal assaults as if it was acceptable behavior and saying "I hope you are enjoying your new floors". Coming from a family business going on 106 years strong, we cannot fathom how an owner can be so disrespectful and ignorant of what is happening in the front lines. It's all about Carpet Man bullying and trying to push us to say the floors are "fantastic" and that we are happy with them. Again, SO FAR FROM TRUTH!! read more

They are just okay. We had new carpet put into our home. They did have the best price we found and the carpet is quality. I'm not sure about the padding. I would've like the 8lb but that wasn't something I had researched beforehand and the salesman didn't mention it to me. The salesman was actually the install manager, James. He did a pretty good job; he returned my calls promptly, he addressed my concerns, he got people out to fix things twice after the carpet was improperly installed and he handled the situation calmly. As for the carpet going in, it looked okay but when we really started looking, there were spots that didn't meet the wall or corner. Where the carpet met the tile looked awful and on top of that, the tile was chipped in several places from whatever they were doing to get the carpet installed. When they came to fix it I watched the guy make a long scratch down the baseboard. He basically said someone else did that and called me a liar. He blamed the tile being chipped on someone else too. (First he blamed it on me.) I know the scratches were made by the carpet installers because the whole room had just been painted. I guess that's a part of installing carpet but the scratches weren't fixed or addressed by the company at all. Nor was the tile. I would've appreciated being reimbursed for the broken tile and scratches but I don't want to deal with them anymore. The carpet looks good and they came to fix the issues. I don't know if I'd use them again. I wouldn't recommend them to someone else. read more

We were selling our house and he worked with the other contractors and was able to get 3 rooms of carpet installed on time and within budget.
