We stopped into Carrabba's for an early dinner on a Saturday afternoon. I had my 90 year old mother with me and she doesn't get out much so she was really excited about dinner. I will say that, as always, the food was great! They do a really nice job and we've been coming to this restaurant since it opened. However this is the first time that we have experienced a staff with attitude. Talk about not caring about the customer experience. The hostess that sat us put the silverware on the table and walked away. My Mom is on a walker so by the time we caught up to her she was gone and we assumed the table with the silverware was for us. We then asked if there was a good place to put her walker and the wait person just said "leave it here" which was right in front of another booth. We wanted to enjoy a leisurely dinner (part of the reason we go early) but that didn't sit well with the waitstaff. She kept rushing us every few minutes to order when there really weren't many people in the place at all. We ordered so we could continue our conversation without her attitude. She brought the salads and then entrees not even 5 minutes after. At the end of the meal, Mom's walker abruptly appeared in front of our booth like "it's time for you to leave". So much for leisurely. In the end we had a delicious meal but it was in no way relaxing or even enjoyable due to the attitude of the employees. I know we're living in different times but when someone who has been confined in her home for so long finally gets out to a nice dinner you want it to be enjoyable. Since our family has enjoyed this restaurant for so long and we've given good reviews I felt like I needed to provide this feedback. On my quest to find more Italian places, I finally got to try Carrabbas. Was it a mistake? Quite possibly. When you walk in, it honestly feels like you're either walking in an Applebee's or an Irish pub. Don't know why it gives that essence, but it did. Definitely needs a makeover considering it's an Italian restaurant, didn't give the vibe at all. The waiter was very attentive and friendly. They had a happy hour menu which I am a sucker for. They provide complimentary bread which is good. The appetizers/happy hour food was good, however the pasta was extremely disappointing. Almost no sauce, so plain tasting. The portion was massive though - but it really was just a carb overload. The mussels looked so great on the stock photo, tasted absolutely amazing, but they were so tiny! Pleasant, slightly upscale ambiance, polished professional service. It was a refreshing change of pace to see pasta with a variety of seafood preparations. The food for the three of us was excellent. We had no complaints on food. So....you are wondering why no five stars?? They tried to rush us and we were having none of it! They brought the entrees when we weren't even half done with the salads, then brought the checks when we were half done eating our entrees. No asking us if we wanted dessert or coffee. We previously have been to Carrabbas in East Plano some 300 times since 2006: it's our go-to place for their kind of food. We had one bad experience with a curbside order we placed on the telephone (the online service was down) in which the order really hadn't been placed and I waited another 25 minutes to find that out. We never heard from Carrabbas after I wrote a one star review. On our own we decided to go back assuming the one poor day was an anomaly. It was! We had an outstanding curbside experience. We had Tuscan port chops, Metzzaluna, Spaghetti with meatballs (which we have the next day) and their Cannoli cake--all cooked to perfection: incredibly flavorful, great portion size, attractive visual appearance. We're delighted that Carrabbas is back to being the superlative restaurant we have previously found it to be. read more

we always come here hungry and leave super full. the service is great, the food is always yummy. we try to get different things each time we go. we are never disappointed. my go to dessert is the cheesecake which usually i have to take to go because i am so full. they are at full capacity and they do clean after each customer leaves. super. read more

This is a nice Italian restaurant. Yes, it is a chain. It's a very good one. Carrabba's is a scratch kitchen and that means a lot. The customer service was top notch for our date. My boyfriend called ahead to have flowers delivered directly to the restaurant as a surprise for me and when we arrived for our reservations that bouquet sitting waiting at our table blew me away. He had coordinated everything in advance with the restaurant manager. The music is fancy like you're sitting in a movie, I loved it. We had the Mozzarella Marinara for the appetizer and it was delicious, nothing like the cheese sticks from some restaurants that taste like they came from the frozen food section of the supermarket and filled with plastic textured cheese. My boyfriend also ordered the Italian side salad and it was huge, for me that would have been my meal. He had the grilled sirloin with garlic mashed potatoes that was tender and cooked to his specifications. I ordered the woodfired pizza and used the option to create your own. You get the choice of 3 toppings so I selected Italian fennel sausage, Kalamata olives and mushrooms and it is on a thin crust and it was wonderful. I definitely recommend Carrabba's, I think it's a much tastier experience than some of the other Italian chains. I won't name names. read more

It's sucks there's only 2 Carrabbas in the whole Frisco/Plano area, when the first thing I mention is done rewards and getting my order correct you'd think those would be prioritized. Nope not even close, from the lackluster service in Togo, to the male manager (I think his name was Martin) working the night of 1/15 at the Plano location having little to no personality let alone understanding the importance of getting the darn order checked before you bring out the wrong order to my car, only to return with my right order but half of it and you guys expect a tip for that? Joined a couple friends here for lunch as this is their usual spot on Sunday's. My friend requested a table in the back away from people as we can become overly excited....aka WE ARE JUST LOUD!!! Lol...anywho this was my first time dining at Carrabba's, so I asked our waiter a multitude of questions about the menu. He was really patient and sweet with me as he had a response for every single question. I finally decided to go with the Grilled Chicken Marsala w/ alfredo pasta and asparagus. I must say this was some of the most moist chicken I have ever had. The Marsala sauce was rich and creamy a great compliment to the alfredo pasta. The asparagus were cooked to perfection... After traveling all afternoon from our home in a small town in Southwestern Oklahoma we were ready to enjoy some fine cuisine here in the big city. While on our way to our hotel here in Allen, Tx we were looking at the nicer looking restaurants and narrowed it down to a few to conspider based only on appearance. After checking in, we decided that we wanted to try Italian since we hadn't eaten Italian out since we moved from California over a year ago. So, off we went exploring the reviews on Yelp while concentrating on the few that we had spotted from the highway. We checked the reviews of one of our favorite places several years ago in California but after reading the reviews it appears that they are still In a downward fall since the ownership change a few years ago - too bad. Anyway after reading the reviews, we chose Carrabba's Italian. The reviews were a little low, but the comments about service, atmosphere, and the moist chicken tipped the scales. One reviewer mentioned the outstanding service they received from Cruz. So off we went. All I can say after enjoying a great evening and terrific food is than those other reviewers must have been in a horrible mood or maybe they just like to be a hard to please amateur food critics. First of all, as luck would have it, Cruz was our server. He was warm, friendly and a 5 star server. We ordered a bottle of wine and enjoyed the wine and hot bread dipped in herb olive oil without being rushed to hurry up and order. 5 stars for that. Cruz returned at just the right time to take our orders. I ordered the Chicken Marcela with a side of oil and herb pasta and my wife ordered the Chicken Bryan. Both dishes were amazing and the chicken was tender and moist. (I have to figure out how to do that.) Also the salads and entree's were large enough for leftovers foe both of us. New to the DFW area. This was the first COVID curbside order. I ordered online and it was easy to use. We ordered the Chicken Parm and the Lasagna. Salads were Italian and Greek (Along with fresh baked bread). While the bread was fresh, I was a little disappointed that it wasn't "true" Italian bread (In Carrabba's defense, it did come with a packet of extra virgin olive oil colavita that you can spread the bread with and was good.) The main dishes were extremely delicious and very filling. When I submitted my order online, it gave me an estimated time of 30 minutes. I received a text in under 20 minutes that my order was ready. I pulled into the restaurant's curbside parking was greeted within minutes with my order. Considering the COVID drama, this place NAILED it! I can't wait for my next visit! Okay. I used to love going to Carrabba's in North Dallas with my coworkers back in the day. The food was always good and they always catered to serving us quickly (even when there were 7 of us) and bringing all the dishes out at once. We didn't have have a long lunch break. This 2 star rating is for my most rencent visit to the one on highway 75 for dinner on a Friday evening, 5/1/09, 7:30pm. The waiter brought us a loaf of bread and seasoning for the olive oil. This is the best part of the meal. The bread is extremely soft on the inside and crusty on the oustide. Just how bread should be. It is oh so delicious with the olive oil. My son likes butter on his bread so we asked for some butter too. The butter is whipped and easily spread. We ordered the antipasti platter. There was calamari, fried mozzarella sticks, bruchetta and two types of marinera sauce. I think one was supposed to be spicy but it wasn't. The sauces were on the sour side. The calamari was so so. It was nicely crisp, not too oily. The mozzarella sticks were good but the bruchetta was not what I expected. When I think of bruchetta, I think of nice garlicy baguette with some tomatoes, basil and garlic on top with some melted cheese. This was just a baguette, very hard, with garlic butter brushed on. There were two on the platter and no one finished it. The mozzarella was probably the best item on the platter. My husband and I decided to spilt the pasta weesie. The pasta weesie consists of shrimp sauteeed in a garlic, lemon butter, white wine sauce with sauteed mushrooms and scallions, served over fettuccini alfredo for $14. I am so glad that we split this order. First of all, it comes with a side salad and they split that for us too. We chose the house salad. The pasta weesie and salad weren't as good as I remember them. I finished the salad but could not get myself to finish the pasta. The fettucini alfredo seemed a bit overcooked and the noodles stuck together. Even with all the twirling I did, they wouldn't come apart. I had a feeling that the entree had been sitting under the heat lamp for a while before it came out to our table. Back in the day they had incredible creme brulee and tiramisu. I found out that they don't make the full size desserts anymore. Instead, they followed the crowd and now have these mini shooter desserts. The glasses were a little smaller than the size of the pepper shaker on our table for $2.25 each. I got the creme brulee and my son got the fruite creme one. Both were very good. Our waiter had no personality. He did everything right but he just wasn't friendly. No smiles, no frills. The place was a lot darker than it use to be too. I used to be able to see the art on the walls but it was very dimly lit this time around. It was hard to get a good picture of the food with the type of light. All in all, I was disappointed with the food and the service but not the bread and dessert. TIPS: Call ahead and put your name on the waiting list for a table. It's well worth it. I knew there would be a wait since it was Friday and dinner time so I called ahead. When we got there, we sat down pretty quickly. There were about 5 other parties waiting for tables when we arrived. We've been a customer of Carrabba's since they opened in Plano. Over the years, they have eliminated a lot of great menu items we loved. On our visit last evening (probably our last), I ordered the Tuscan Grilled Chicken with the sauteed spinach ($1.00 upgrade), my wife ordered the chicken piccata also with the spinach. My salad was slightly wilted and had enough dressing for two salads, my wife's soup was just warm. My entre had a minuscule overcooked 1/2 chicken breast and about three bites of spinach for $19.29. My wife's had the same sliced 1/2 chicken breast with a very bland flavor for $21.99. We thought maybe a desert would better. We ordered the Tiramisu. We received something that looked as if it had been prepared in a pan and dipped onto a plate and covered with chocolate sauce. Regardless of which Carrabba's you go to, I have found the food and service to be top notch at each one. This is no exception. Went in for a quick dinner and sat at the bar. Quickly greeted and order taken with fresh warm bread and dipping oil and spices shortly following. Went with the Spiedino de Mare and Caesar Salad. Food came out quickly and it was very good. Finished it off with some ice cream with caramel and candied pecans and I was good to go. Good place for good eating. read more

We went here a few weeks ago and I forgot to post a review. We were initially greeted very quickly by a friendly host. However as soon as we were sat things went south. The restaurant itself wasn't busy yet we waited over seven minutes to be greeted by our waiter. He took our drink order and dashed off before we could inform him we were ready to order our food. It took another five minutes for us to get our cokes, which were accompanied by the bread and olive oil (which was actually pretty good). We both ordered soup and when it arrived the soup was luke warm. The vegetables inside when we bit into them were cold. We ended up not finishing our food and just asked for our check so we could go. Brought my wife and family to eat here last Friday night. Everything was going great service was great too but when I got the food I got shrimp and scallop pasta and my scallops were raw raw. I've had my fair share of scallop and shrimp and this was not cooked remotely. I ate one ate half of another and just had to pick them out and set them on the small plate. The shrimp was super fishy so I didn't touch them either after one bite. Everyone else was enjoying their food I ate some of the pasta but I've had food poisoning before and I didn't want to chance it and be miserable. My daughter had shrimp and pasta she ate hers up. Waitress came over sweet lady asked how it was I said ehh it was ok. I was the only one that had issues so I wasn't gonna say anything. We got home and that night it wasn't me that got sick from the shrimp and uncooked scallops but my daughter. Food poisoning for days throwing up the next two days non stop. She was a trooper through it all though but man couldn't take her anywhere without her throwing up every hour. My wife called up there and spoke to the day manager they wanted the receipt to give to the manager working that night or what not and said they were going to call back to make it right. Come to find out they've 86 them with some new boring UVstuff. Extremely disappointed. My bread was Luke warm an so was the second round. The service was horrible waitress wasn't pleasant at all so we left no tip. Also it seems like the portions of the food have gotten veery small. This is my 4th time being here. I really wanted to go to Chuy's next door, but my husband insisted to go to Carrabba's, because "it sounded good". First 2 times(approx. 2008 and 2010), I got sick both times after eating at this one and one other location in Dallas. My meal wasn't what I expected(seafood stew with linguine, but the linguine was overcooked and it was too much of it. I took it home with some bread and gave it to my dog children where they enjoyed it), but I didn't want to say anything, because I just wanted to eat some and leave. After the fact, I wished I went to Macaroni Grill(they have excellent items and the prices match the food they serve) or Maggiano's(food is excellent) as I would had much better dining experience there. Besides, there weren't too many customers in the restaurant and I've also noticed that the prices have gone up a lot. Our waiter was a ok. I guess I was expecting too much, this was no Pappadeaux's or Bucca di Beppo where I would not mind paying $20 plus for a meal, because their food is very tasty/service is excellent most of the time and well worth the price both in terms of quantity and quality. By the way, my stomach got very sour after eating there, so I think I'm definitely done with Carrabba's for good this time. I will not be spending any more of my money here. read more

Always Great Food & Stellar Service at Carraba"s Italian Grill. The fam and I went to have our wedding anniversary dinner and we were treated with the utmost care. Our waiter was amazing. The manager came out and gave us an awesome, yummy cheese pizza and even offered Lil Bear a job since she loves eating there! The kids settled though for the free t-shirt surprise on the way out.
