Did a group order pickup and the location was recommended by my coworker after he had a great time eating at Carriage Court Pizza Fried Pickles - $6 Half Order - Colossal Crown Nachos - $11 Whiplash Speciality L - 31.90 Red Sauce, crumbled sausage, bacon bits, pepperoni, garlic, mozzarella, parmesan, and brew sauce The fried pickles were very salty to the point once you ate 2-3 you were done eating them. These were for three coworkers to split but after eating a few we were done. No one wants to eat overly salty pickles to the point that everyone was grabbing for their drink or trying to dumb the pickles in ranch due to how over salted they were. Colossal nachos - were good my coworker loved them he couldn't finish with how much there was to consume. These nachos are the only reason this review is two stars. Whiplash pizza - this was the most disappointing pizza I had in a while. With the pizza being more money and the description you think you are getting your moneys worth. But tell me why am I eating a pizza to little to no cheese on with no sauce on it. It's also weirdly dry due to the pizza having very thin red sauce as well. The photo shows as how disappointing it looks. The pizza still tasted decent but definitely wasn't worth the money. I have learned my lesson to not order out from this location here again. We had a very solid carry out meal from carriage court! It's always super convenient when a pizza place is attached to a brewery, and you can grab a beer while you wait for your order. We got a regular pepperoni pizza, some bbq wings, and a cauliflower crust margherita pizza. The pepperoni pizza was solid and definitely scratched the itch if you're not a pizza snob and just looking for a normal pizza. The wings were maybe a pass as they kind of were just chicken nuggets doused in sauce. As someone with a gluten allergy I constantly am impressed at the offerings the CP square has for gluten free options, but that doesn't always mean they're going to be stellar since gf bread related items have a long way to go. The cauliflower crust pizza was perhaps one of, if not the best cauliflower crust pizzas I have ever had. It made me almost overlook the 6 dollar up charge. It was such a perfectly crisp crust and the pizza was incredible. I will be coming back for this. I stopped by here yesterday early afternoon. I had never had the pizza here. Family members who live in CP say the pizza is "just OK" but my family here will eat just about anything, and it shows in their waistlines. I had to try this pizza out myself. I was here last year late at night with my dog and enjoyed an Alfredo pasta and liked it, so I know the kitchen staff is good. Carriage Court Pizza shares real estate with Crown Brewing. I like their beer, but will write a separate review for Crown Brewing. I will focus on the pizza here. I ordered a large (eight square slices) "Detroit-style pizza" with carmelized cheese with added spinach and onions . Never heard of a Detroit-style pizza. I thought Chicago-style ruled. I was not disappointed, though. What did disappoint me were the skimpy toppings. There were EIGHT spinach leaves on that pizza, ONE PER SLICE. EIGHT!!!! All that for $1.85? Add on another $1.85 for sliced onions, and we all know how inexpensive onions are. Sauce was also skimpy. Those eight slices turned into two meals for me. I did, however, like the airy crust. The edges were browned as per the "Detroit style," and the sauce was tasty and the crust melted into a buttery feel once in the mouth. I must admit I liked the crust very much. This is no Domino's or Gelsosomo's. I just wish there were more spinach and onions. I sat outside with my dog early afternoon during this meal. The sun was slowly shrouding the patio in shade. The new covid rules require every other table off-limits. Dogs are no longer permitted on the patio past 4pm. I forgot to ask why the change. Was it because of a chihuahua that had had too much of the "award-winning" Dude Porter and lunged and attacked an unsuspecting customer? Service was good, food was good (except for the skimpy toppings) and came out in a decent time, and the beer from Crown Brewing was good (as always). I would order a Detroit-style pizza again but not order any toppings. This was a solid four-star dining experience. read more

What a disappointing experience. I really wanted to like this place. We sat on the patio and enjoyed the cool evening air. I ordered a glass of "Special Force's " it was quite enjoyable. That unfortunately is where the good ends. The staff although friendly was very forgetful. We would place an order for an item, it would take a second engagement with our server to ask for a status of the order. The length of time to seemed excessive. We ordered the Detroit style pizza and an order of wings. Super disappointing!!! The wings were so small you would have to look around for pigeons. If you like a thick bread style crust, then these Detroit style pizzas won't disappoint. I will be hard pressed to return. read more

Heading home from Chicago with family and we needed to stop some place for dinner. Since we love local spots and craft beer, Carriage Court was a great choice! Not too far off 65 in Crown Point, this little spot is connected to Crown Brewing. We ordered their new cheesy bread. It was amazing. Gone before I was able to get a picture. Since they are connected to the brewery, we were able to have a large selection of beers! There wasn't a beer we didn't like. I had three different dark beers and all were wonderful. Finally we ordered a large Detroit style pizza and it was cooked perfectly. The sauce was great and the crispy edges were great. Our waitress was so friendly and knowledgeable. She told us her fav beers and what she liked from the menu. If I am ever back in the area, I will definitely stop in again!! read more

I feel it's time for an update. I have been here several times since the waitress blatantly hit on my husband (boyfriend back then). I was here last Saturday after a convention in town. The place was somewhat busy but it was easy to get a spot for 5. The waitress was friendly and upbeat and the place was clean (which is important to me) but I will mention that the place is VERY LOUD. The acoustics in that building must be set for that because no matter how slow they are the place is always loud. Food- boneless wings are a nice size and are tasty. Pizza- one half was just cheese and the other half was sausage. It was made a little messy so maybe carry out was super busy. My friend had asked for the cheese to be brown, it was beautiful on one side but on his side it barely looked cooked. The food isn't great. I think we come here only with groups because friends want beer from Crown Brewing and want to snack with a larger space to sit. I'll come here with friends but it's not a place that I would seek out for pizza read more

July 2021 - We have wanted to try this place for several months. We were there on what appeared to be a slow business day. We sat inside this industrial looking building. Our server appeared to be very inexperienced. There was a good 20 minutes between the drink order and the food order. Once our pizza was ordered it was another 20 to 30 minutes before it arrived. Overall, the pizza was tasty! We had a crumbled sausage pizza. The crust was hard and crunchy on the edge. If it was hand tossed then I would be surprised. We tried this place out because we saw an ad for Kimchee Pizza. This Korean girl loves her kimchee so why not, right? The service was pretty chill as most places are during this pandemic but the pizza itself left much to be desired. Showed up with a party of 15 on a very busy Friday night. Raining, so could not sit outside. Ended up with our own private room upstairs, thanks to a friend who knew someone at the restaurant. Our server worked very hard to get all of our drink orders and food orders, and she carried them up a rather steep flight of stairs. The pizza was better than previous visits, so I am adding a star for the service and the food. It would be nice if they would take reservations, especially for large groups of people. One of the WORST restaurant experiences I've ever had! Most rude waitress I have ever seen! I'm going to timestamp this review so that readers can understand how ridiculous my experience was at CCP tonight- 6:15PM - arrived with wife and two small kids, seated PROMPTLY 6:17PM - waitress arrived and took drink orders, we knew what appetizers we wanted and started to order and she literally turned her back and walked away 6:25pm - drinks arrived, finally ordered appetizers. By this time we had plenty time to look at menu, kids were excited about pizza, told her we were ready to order and again, she turned her back and walked away!! 6:35pm - appetizers finally arrive, fries for the kids and some cheese sticks.. We still had not ordered our food! She dropped off the appetizers as quickly as possible and walked away to another table to take a group picture of some people for a birthday party, rather than take our order! 6:44 pm- she FINALLY comes back to take our order after us having been seated almost 30 minutes! She refilled my drink with a new one and left my empty glass on the table. 7:00 pm - walks by, finally grabs my empty glass and tells us pizza is in and will be up soon. 7:10 pm - walks by again and says pizza is coming out soon. Kids are increasingly antsy by this point and want their pizza, we are running out of ways to entertain them. 7:15 - walks by again and announces pizza is coming soon, by this time I had finished my refill and she simply ignores it. 7:16pm - she drops off napkins, silverware, plates, this means pizza is coming shortly right??? 7:25pm - comes by and tells me that it will be up "any minute" in her words. 7:30pm - still no food but we are told again that it's coming. By this time we are through. I have two kids under 5 that are hungry and were promised pizza! Wife and I decide to simply get up and leave, go to the counter and pay for our appetizers. 7:35 - as we get to the counter, they walk out with our pizza. Wife goes to tell her that we've been waiting for over an hour and 15 minutes and we are just leaving but will pay for our appetizers. Waitress looks at my wife and says, rudely, in front of at least 3 other tables in earshot, "You waited 46 minutes!" My wife explained that, no, you seated us at 6:15, took 30 minutes to take our order, and then 46 minutes on top of that! Her reply to this was, "well, I GUESS I won't charge you for appetizers.." We had no problem paying for them though since we ate them, and said that we would. She was rude again, still no apology, and told us to follow her to her computer to pay. I followed the waitress up to her computer to pay for appetizers, obviously since we weren't served, and she was so unapologetic and rude to my family I did not leave a tip, she looked at me and said, "CLASSY!" She then Waved her hand in my face and stormed through the kitchen door. At this point I asked for the manager and explained my experience to her- she was friendly, apologetic, and even offered the pizza on the house. By this time however I was so insulted that I didn't even want it. I just told her that I would NEVER come to this place again and we left. I don't care who you are, in this atmosphere you should always apologize to and empathize with the customer, and this waitress had the nerve to just blow us off and talk back to my wife!! We stopped coming here a couple years ago because of service, and thought we'd give another try, sad to say it's only gotten worse. read more

I picked this place because I think the food might reflect the beer next door. I was so disappointed that I skipped the beer completely. My 3 year old wouldn't finish her favorite dish of mac n cheese even after I gave some to my 2 year old. My Reuben sandwich fell apart as I lifted it from the plate. The "make your own bruschetta" looked like canned tomatoes in a cup and buttered buns. I dared to order an appetizer of this pasta stuffed with spinach after the waitress told me she never tried it before. That's a clue right there. It was like toasted cardboard and canned tomato sauce. I don't know if the pizza is any good but the restaurant wasn't full at dinner time on Friday night so that should say something. Very disappointed! Normally have great pizza so we had a beef sandwich and a shrimp dinner w/ side Greek salad delivered = $32 tip included. Beef sandwich was all bread with very little meat $9 because it was a $1 extra to add cheese and no a jus was included, even though I asked for it on side. It was also on receipt. Shrimp "Dinner" was a joke. A small bag of popcorn shrimp and a small bag of fries = $10. Forgot the coleslaw also. Not my favorite pizza place, but for some reason its around me more than I'd prefer. Carriage Court is a convenient local carry out pizza place, which is probably why people order it frequently. Carriage Court is greasy and the cheese doesn't taste very good. Sauce and crust are decent. There are just so many other pizza places to order from, Carriage Court would not even make my top 5. So if you are in NW Indiana and want to order pizza, I would not suggest ordering Carriage Court. On the other hand, some people favor here over other places. It's just personal opinion. read more

Holy freaking cheesy!!!! I think the sauce was good, and I'm pretty sure that the crust was as well, but I can't be sure as all I could taste was the freaking CHEESE!!! We ordered take-out, so I didn't get a chance to experience the restaurant, the service, or the neighboring Crown Brewery, but I will say that they were extremely nice over the phone placing the order.
