I've been a Carson Dental Family patient for over 3 years. During that time, I've been treated by all three of their dentists: Dr. LeRoy (father), Dr. Derek (son), and now by the new partner, Dr. Mike Acasio. During many decades, I've seen scores of dentists. Based on my experience with the good, bad and the ugly, not one can hold a candle to the Carson practice. They are honest to goodness professionals, and caring, compassionate people. I can remember way back when, as a college student, I had to have an impacted wisdom tooth removed. Two hours and several doses of medication later, the dentist resorted to using pliers and a hammer to try and remove the tooth. With sweat dripping from his brow, and on to me, he finally took me to an oral surgeon who finished removing the tooth in 15 minutes. A little over two weeks ago, I had three teeth removed by Dr. Mike, and I opted not to do the sleep sedation. One tooth had been fused to the bone. I was amazed that I felt no pain, and I didn't bolt out of my chair. A short while later I was on my way home. He didn't even need a hammer to remove the tooth. I had an infected tooth that went into my neck and Dr Carson opened his office on a weekend to treat me !! He is a pain free specialist and he turned my fear of going to the dentist into a non-issue. I started my braces journey last year in may and had all my pre ortho work done within a month after my first consult the orthodontist is super nice and The ladies at the front desk are so friendly efficient and helpful it's amazing and the ALL the dental hygienist I've eve encountered through out my visits have been such amazing sweethearts! I've had 4 extractions do to crowding and they rubbed my ears and have me warm blankets while I was being number and after walking me out.... on 3/28 I had my oral surgery with their new surgeon Dr.Solomon Poyourow who was so nice so patient explained everything throughly and without rushing my decision, I was sedated within minutes and I was unaware of my wisdom teeth being taken out within 2 hours I was awake and had my pain medication in my hands and I have no swelling and they gave me a doctors note to be off from work to recover so I'm at home having a staycation looking like a baby chipmunk. She took the time to explain everything clearly and made the entire check-in process easy and stress-free. Patty, the dental assistant , was absolutely amazing. I tend to get nervous during dental appointments, but she made me feel comfortable, reassured, and well cared for throughout my visit. When my nerves started to kick in, she was patient, understanding, and very helpful, which made a huge difference. The doctor was also excellent. He took the time to thoroughly explain everything, answered all of my questions, and made sure I understood my treatment options. OH I wish I had found Dr. Leroy Carson YEARS ago. He's a genius when it comes to dentistry--practicing for years and at the top of his game with leading edge techniques and equipment. He's an artist. I've never experienced shots before without some kind of pain before. YAY! no more painful shots!!! Yes, still get shots but he uses a different approach that has almost completely eliminaed the pain for me. Terrific work on replacing my broken crown and cleaning up an issue with another crown I got a few years ago elsewhere. Also leading edge diagnostics that picked up some issues missed by my former dentist, now cleaning those up too. Congenial office staff, too. Very pleased. I have been Seeing Dr. Leroy Carson and His Son, Dr. Derek Carson for few years now, and all of my visits have been exceptionally fantastic! No pain, quick, and efficient, Took care of eight cavities, four at a time with no pain, even the needle did not hurt unlike my previous dentist. I would definitely recommend Carson and Carson, DDS to anyone who needs dental work. My favorite part even though i have never had to have it done is they can sedate you with more than just a needle from my understanding they can use Nitrous oxide (Laughing gas) so you don't remember a thing or feel a thing one of the two. I found Dr. Derek Carson in the phone book a year ago and needed dental work done so decided to go to his office . The experience was wonderful - he showed compassion and overall concern for his patients. In addition to be being very educated and professional, he is very gentle and his entire staff is friendly and understanding . Also, his Mother works there who is charming and delightful and his Father is also in the office who has been a respected dentist a long time- Dr.. Leroy Carson . Dr. Derek Carson is the nicest and gentle dentist I have ever visited. My first encounter with Dr. Derek was an emergency visit 6 years ago, and I've been going to him ever since. Best Dentist in the 805, no doubt about that!!! All staff are super friendly and very gentle and caring. Dr. Derick Carson AKA (by my husband) Dr. Gentle is the best. They all understand your needs and will work with. The quality of work is magnificent! You will not be disappointed. One stop shop, you don't have to go see other "specialist" at different offices. Dr Carson has been replacing a few crowns were done elsewhere about 5 years ago that became problematic, including one that developed a root infection. I am very impressed with the state-of-the-art equipment in this office that enables him to complete procedures like CT scans, crowns, and root canals in a single visit. But who likes dentists, right? This is a pleasant and comfortable atmosphere and I've been told that if a patient falls asleep during a root canal or a crown prep it is a compliment to the dentist - my compliments to Dr Carson! read more

This is the first time I have ever had drilling on my teeth with NO pain whatsoever!! Dr Derek was even able to numb me without pain-you know how normally it feels like they're injecting you in your nose! Ha ha Ha I went here with my new insurance because I needed some things replaced in my mouth and I could not be happier! I highly recommend either office, I have been to both Camarillo and Oxnard and the staff at both amazing! Honestly I've always hated going to the dentist all my life. I got recommend by my sister and knowing I needed the work I decided to try it out. Wow..the staff is very kind and both Dr. Derek and LeRoy Carson know how to do painless dentistry. They did my root canals, extractions, and implant all while I was asleep. I cannot believe I did not do this sooner. Their office is affordable and yet has state of the art equipment. This place is amazing and no longer fear the dentist. They do not make you wait a long time like other offices and do nice work. My friend had her teeth taken out with sedation so I checked this place out. They mad me feel at home so I did not need it. Painless root canal and crowns done.
