I have been coming here for years because of the great service and friendly customer care. I feel like I am part of the family each time I visit and never felt pressured to have any work done, they tell me what I need and what can wait. The owner, Kevin and I always kid around and have a running joke about a bench outside for when I visit so I have a place to smoke my cigar. Even now that I have moved far away from Cillis I still drive up for all my service needs. They do take you home and pick you, within a reasonable distance of course, but because I am so far away I either Uber my way back home and back, or go hang out with friends for the day. Quiet a while ago I had about $10K in damage from a read end collision, they made my vehicle look like new, and service after the repair is without equal. read more

Lack of professionalism in handling client interactions. Neglectful in maintaining transparent and professional contact. If I could give, 0 stars, I would. Seems like no one knows how to properly communicate the deadline for getting a vehicle back to their client then complain & make remarks of how "your wife called like 10 times today" I called 3 haha. Kevin (estimator) did his best to relay information from Miguel (I believe mechanic manager?) Xochil (manager) was on leave and tried her best effort to ease my frustration of the constant push back, I asked to be updated, yet never was. Said car was needing a test drive, I asked for a picture of the odometer, received no response after we were in "constant" communication via text (I say this loosely as she wouldn't pick up my calls, but would text me while I was on hold). Paid our deductible after a month our vehicle was in the shop, get inside with incorrect tire pressure from 2 of the 4 tires. We go inside, they put air in, just for us to circle in their parking lot to notice there was a knocking sound. Go back in, yet again, for them to tell us "oh yeah xyz is also broken." Wouldn't that be something to bring to our attention before we pay money to get our truck back? Also as we requested a rental since we turned it back in (obviously) the white girl inside had an attitude. We shouldn't have to ask for updates, but again, when we ask, they're annoyed and give vague answers. Then the Hispanic lady wasn't any help either. Funny enough, the owner Kevin Williams, comes in at the perfect time after the verbal altercation and assisted it well; but when I was telling him what happened, the white lady says "that's not what I said but okay" funny she had a lot to say when confronted to her boss yet little to nothing when asked for an update. Don't bring your car here. I waited almost a year for a replacement hood for my car and it still doesn't look right. Carstar didn't communicate wait times or updates. Carina is argumentative and Kevin the owner doesn't pay attention to work going in and out of his shop, apparently. Truly a miserable experience getting my car fixed. I wouldn't wish this type of service on my worst enemy. Do yourself a favor and take it anywhere else. They're a total joke of a repair shop. You can go to a circus to see clowns or come here, the choice is yours. There's no star in Carstar here, period. Dealt with PJ. She claimed my car needed teardown and they were too busy to look at it. Sometimes people are a victim in a collision and just want a decision made. The customer shouldn't have to come up there for an estimate to be written and teardown isn't needed when you can clearly see the panels separating. I'm so sorry you didn't get 4 hours of labor paid for totaling my car that was an obvious total. I'm So Sorry. This place is an ethical joke. Either they are lazy, incompetent or hurting for that gravy teardown labor they get every time. I'm just glad it's totaled so I can move on since I couldn't total it myself. What a joke. I'm low key hoping this place replies and tries to tell me how a shop works. That will go real well for them. Apologize, and don't be such a prick to people and just do your job. Customer service lacks and following legal procedures doesn't seem to be a concern. They avoid your calls when they don't want to take accountability. This place is the best. A family owned busy who actually cares about their customers. I dropped my car off there yesterday to get work done. I was waiting for Enterprise car rental to come pick me up, of course they took forever, so without me even having to ask the owners daughter gives me a ride over there. She even waited outside to make sure I got a car. The lobby was clean with snacks and drinks. Gary worked on my car and he was really cool. I appreciate how they kept me updated, and didn't speak to me as if I was a woman who know nothing of cars. My car was already go to go within 24 hours. My car went in for repair at CarStar - Champions - Schroder in Houston, TX. Upon pickup Xochill - the shops "estimator" and daughter of the shop manager was not very poilite and was cursing while doing a half thorough walk through of my vehicle. My car was returned with multiple parts in bad condition. I immediately returned my car to the shop after having it in my possession for 10 minutes. Why was my air intake sliced? Why was my radiator panel not bolted in correctly? Why was there no power steering fluid? When I got the car AGAIN my left headlight was loose and there was a grinding noise when I would go over 60 MPH. Instead of saying, "Oh bring it in and we'll check it out" Xochill's response was, "I had 3 people check out that car." and no resolution was offered. I personally called back and asked for a supervisor. I was directed to Kevin - The Manager - who really did try his best, but the shop is completely out of control. My vehicle was returned to me once again not put together properly. Kevin had the shop fix the problems and unfortunately yesterday my vehicle had to be towed due to my low coolant notification coming on. I had only had the car completely in my care for less than a week. When I arrived at the shop last night, NOT A SINGLE PERSON GREETED ME and when I came out of the bathroom Xochill and her sister - also employed there - were speaking negatively regarding how "customers" should act. Then the group went outside to see how the "repair" of my vehicle was going and I heard them speaking about me and my mother. I drove to work this morning with a rattling door panel and quite a bit of coolant missing AGAIN after this was all apparently looked at and "fixed". read more

I was quite stressed over a situation that could have affected the sale of our Class A motorhome this Saturday. Last Wednesday, after the promise of our coach to the new buyers, we had an unplanned "meeting" with a fence and it scratched up the mirror cover on our pristine coach. We ordered the replacement piece and - as luck would have it - UPS lost our package for a few days and we didn't receive it until this Tuesday. I rushed it over to CarStar Champions and told Donny my predicament. Donny came to our rescue. He promised he'd have the newly painted piece back to us by Friday, which was our deadline. It turns out he actually under-promised and over-delivered because I already have the newly painted piece in hand! It was a one day turnaround! I am pretty disappointed because I selected this place partially on reviews and it was an approved State Farm shop. I will say they had my vehicle ready when promised.The good news stops there. They should have totaled my car because even the engine had to be replaced but apparently the cheap insurance company I have said fix. Then they purchased a used engine for my car and couldnt be bothered giving me the paperwork. Again didnt think I would want it??? Took off my oil sticker and said they changed the oil BUT my car does not say oil at 100% not just talking about light coming on. So not at all happy about this place and unless I have to use because they worked on my car, will find another place if needed. read more

Unprofessional and unreliable. I have had a bad experience with this shop. I took my car to them and they asked me to bring in after 3 weeks for body work. They told me that it will take 3-4 days to fix the car. I dropped the car on their designated date on a Monday. Their representative told me that it should be done by Friday. When I called in on Friday to check in on the car, oops....I was told that the work was not even started on the car and they will call me whenever.....this is so unprofessional and unreliable. I waited first for 3 weeks to get my car in and then another week - and no one there paid any attention to the car. I got my car back without any repairs. Never going to this shop again. read more

After getting hit in the back and dealing with the driver's horrible insurance I was ready for a wild ride. When I took my truck into Cilli's everyone was friendly and ready to give a helping hand. Maria helped me deal with the insurance company and all the paperwork. I asked them to flush and fill my radiator. When I looked at it a day later it was black. When I showed it to Kevin and Joel they lied to me and said it was supposed to look that way. When I went to do the job right, the petcock crumbled in my hand. My family has been using Cillis for 30 years since they started advertising in the Prince of Peace bulletin and this was a first. Since that day I have changed plugs, wires, u joints, bearings, transmission fluid, oil, and about 5 or 6 other things that Chrisfix taught me to do with tools I borrowed from Autozone and stuff I bought from Harbour Freight. Great, honest service! I finally had a moment to take my car in to Cillis after my husband hit some debris on the freeway and the fog light housing on my front bumper got knocked in. We'd taken it to another body shop and they never sent us a quote (so annoying). Then we talked to the dealership and they wanted us to replace the whole bumper! Uh, no way! So we tried Cillis. 30minutes of waiting and my car was good as new! I would have paid $100-200 for the work as my only other option was to take it to the dealership and pay for a new bumper. I paid nothing near that. :) I will be back if I have any issues with my car or my husband's and am so thankful for people who don't take advantage of people - especially women! read more

I've been going to Cillis for 5 years now. Every time I have gone, they have told me up front what the problem is, how much it will cost to fix it, and how long it will take. Not once have they deviated from what they've told me. For instance, this weekend I took my Camry in because the suspension was shot. Dropped it off at 4:30 p.m. Friday afternoon. They called me at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, told me what the fix was (new struts and shocks, front and back. About what I expected), gave me the quote, and had it done by 1 p.m. I shopped around a bit out of curiosity after the quote and couldn't find anyone in the area that was cheaper than they ended up being, even after they ended up realigning my wheels. The other major fix I had done was when my car flooded two years ago. We did all the seats and stuff on our own, but the OBD was shot. It's a part that's unique to make, model, year, and (I think) individual car. Getting one from the factory through a shop is expensive, and they quoted that amount. It's possible to find the initial part online for cheap (ish), but it has to be programmed (formatted?) for the particular car to work at all. We came back to them with that, and they said that if we brought them the part, they'd set it up and install it at just the installation fee, which is what they did. Summary: fantastic work, quick, good quotes, willing to work with you. Also, the friendliest mechanics I've ever gone to. read more

Cillis is not accredited by the Better Business Bureau and has two complaints that were recently closed against them for a reason. They scam customers in the Houston area, especially on 290, by towing cars to their facilities to "store." If you choose not to do your repairs at their facility, they will come up with about $2,000.00 in "administrative fees" and other storage fees that must be paid in order to release your car. If you do not pay, they have grounds to keep the car claiming that a work order with your name on it is a contract. Legally speaking it is not a contract, however most people do not have the time to take a business to trial, while their car is essentially held hostage. If you have the option to tow your car, and Cillis is mentioned, choose a different location if you have no desire to have it repaired at Cillis. read more

A hidden gem collision shop that delivers top notch service. Large and clean shop, they can do it all here. I walked by to empty my car which had been totalled, and I saw several workers on a hot day, not even looking up as people walked by. Usually when I'm at a shop, there are lots of joking, slow moving dudes and semi angry attitudes. I really liked everything I saw, especially the cleanliness. So, I had my first "fender bender" in the parking lot of a Kroger and my back bumper came off. This was technically my first accident ever and I had to deal with the other person's insurance, Fred Loya, who I have come to learn are pretty horrible. I think I may have looked up collision places in the area on my phone and stumbled upon Cillis while looking for a different one. So I stopped there, told them what happened, and Jason Baxter explained how the whole process would go. He told me how to deal with Fred Loya Insurance and other details to get my car fixed. So I felt a little relieved afterwards. That was ONLY 1 incident. I swear about 2 weeks or less later, I was in another car accident while working and I thought it was JUST my luck! 2 accidents in ONE month! I was depressed and just in shock! However, I was so happy with the service at Cillis that I brought it back to them. THIS time there was more damage but I was dealing with a better insurance company, State Farm. Just like the time before, Jason took a look at my car and and got everything prepared for me once again including calling Hertz so I could get a rental while I waited for my car to be fixed. Cillis was very courteous during the whole process, including but not limited to paying for small parts out of their own pocket when they couldn't get in contact with the claim adjuster, and even dropping me off at Hertz to pick up my rental and waiting until they knew I was able to get the rental before leaving! These were my first 2 accidents I've had to personally deal with and I don't think I could have picked a better place. I am very pleased! Been going to Cillis since it was on HWY 149 (now 249). Never been cheated that I know of. Don is a walking car encyclopedia. Prices are fair. They went above and beyond repair - my lights were yellowed, so they buffed them clear, also my brakes squeaked so they took them off and realigned them so that they don't squeak anymore. Not happy at all with my experience. My car was towed here in 11/9/16 and 41 days later my car was ready for pick up. Dirty inside and out. They left greasy parts on my leather seats and there was compound dust though out the entire vehicle. Arm rest, glove compartment you name it and it had dust. Not only did they not protect my seats during the repair there obviously was no quality inspection performed. Had to take it back 3 times to repair window, door handle and for them to detail the vehicle. And the Manager Chris was helpful until I told him I was not satisfied with the condition of my seats. "Well, the isn't new so...it's the best I am gonna do!". Worst experience with auto collision center. Haggling over $3 labor rate difference with insurance company, verifying supplement repairs, contesting adjuster multiple times...my time spent managing this process was more than their $43 hr labor rate.
