Walking in, accessories and handbag are to the right, register into the left. The shoes are categorized by heels, sneakers, flats, boots and separated by gender. It's easy to identify and I know where to go immediately when I'm shopping. And they have mirrors in each area to try on shoes. They have a free VIP membership to sign up and for every pair of shoes donated, they give you 50 points. 2 pairs, you get a $5 reward, 4 pairs, $10, etc. The only gimmick is you can only donate once a week (the new week starts on Sun). Parking in this plaza is okay. Depending on how busy it is, sometimes I have to park further away but I don't mind the walk. Overall Service: The staff I've interacted with here has been super friendly! I haven't had a single bad experience and I go here a lot. They also pretty much charged the same price if not more despite the prior models that are offered at this location. All were done excellently, and at a very reasonable price. (Sam charges before the repair, so there's no surprise high cost). Once I went in to have a shoe stretched to have room for a bandaged toe, and he said that the shoe material would spring back within a couple days. So he recommended instead, that I remove the thick inner pad until the bandage came off; he cut a thin leather to replace it, at very low charge. Another visit, I was second in line when a lady came in to pick up a glossy red shoe that had been severely scuffed. Sam had matched the color perfectly, but no one could have restored the full gloss where it flexed. But the lady was not satisfied. So Sam refunded her money completely, despite having done a couple hours' work. He is competent, helpful, and ethical. That's the way he does business.

The elastic strap on my favorite Doc Marten mary jane's started to break, and I needed a good shoe…read morerepair place to fix them quickly. I found Bay State and called the store to find out their hours and talked to the owner. Luckily, they were open on Saturday morning just long enough for me to drop my shoes off and possibly pick them up on the same day. The store is in downtown Haverhill (not in the heart of downtown, just on the edge) and has ample free parking. It is a an older building and the repair shop is a bit worn, but I don't really care about how it looks as long as my shoes get fixed correctly! The owner looked over my shoes, said he could repair them in 1/2 hour and even offered to replace the elastic strap on the other shoe before it failed as well. I asked him to clean them as well, and his estimate was just $15. When I went back after 30 minutes, they were indeed ready at the stated estimated price. He did a great job on the stitching (it is even and looks professional) and they are fixed and look like new! Great price and great work = 5 stars.

I had bbb with me, and we browsed around the shop. The employee was very friendly and helpful. Everything in the store was very reasonably priced, and lots of fashionable finds from vintage, to pre-loved, to new! Store opened first week of June and seems to draw in a lot of people who are looking for fashionable finds that are priced well and/or reasonable. Some fashions from elan and Ya. I ended up getting a pre-loved blouse that I will sport later this week! The vintage rack had a nice variety, and all the truly vintage christmas sweaters sold out this past weekend! I would say the pre-loved rack and vintage rack had the same amount of clothing, and each is a simple 1 rack. I like how the store is very simple and spaced out nicely.
