On Saturday morning I went through the Carvana website to purchase a car. I went through their preliminary credit approval process, and it said that I was approved for the purchase of a car I selected. The website then asked for my bank information so they could verify the funds for my deposit and the shipping charges for the car to be delivered. When I completed the process the website said that the car is mine and gave me the date it would be delivered. On Saturday afternoon I got a call from Carvana saying that they needed some additional information to process my loan. I told them that I wouldn't be able to get that for a week or 2. They told me they would need to cancel my purchase. When I asked about my deposit and the shipping charge, they said that those would not be withdrawn from my account. On Sunday night the deposit and shipping charges were withdrawn from my account. When I called them about it, they said "oh, that happens" and it could be weeks before they would be able to get the money back to me. My brother is a banker and told me that ACH transfers commonly process within one business day, and there is no reason for them to hold my money for weeks. It has now been 4 days and I'm still trying to get my money back. read more

Recently I sold a vehicle to Carvana. I was hesitant at first because of the negative reviews all over You Tube. Maybe those owners had a terrible experience, but mine was great. Carvana is outstanding. This review is only on the sale of my vehicle to Carvana, and not the purchase of a Carvana vehicle. After weeks of procrastinations and hesitations, I completed the process through the app. They asked for copies of my license, the current registration, title (Pink Slip in California), and a few other pieces I can't remember but it was pretty stock standard. I was most impressed when they asked for a selfie (when I say they, I am referring to the app).The selfie was for the left side, right side, and front of my face. This is to ensure or at least cut down on fraudulent activity. Finally you can opt for a paper check or electronic deposit then confirm your appointment date and time. Carvana will pick up the vehicle, but I chose to drop it off since I was picking up my new vehicle from the same area. The Carvana rep, Nathaniel was very polite, professional, and personable. He called me to confirm my arrival and once I made it to their facility, the transfer process was less than 15 minutes. I was soon out the door with a check in my hand. The facility itself was immaculately well maintained and clean. I have no complaints and would seek Carvana again for my next sale and maybe a new purchase. read more

I bought a car from Carvana a 2023 Honda HR-V Sport and the purchase process initially felt seamless. They delivered my "new" car and picked up my old one, and for a brief moment, I was thrilled. Today is also my birthday, and as a single mom working both a full-time job and a full-time internship, having a reliable car is it's a necessity. I had the car for less than 2 hours when it completely failed. I tried to start it and the RPMs just revved uncontrollably. It sounded like it was going to explode. A brand new car should not do that. I immediately called Carvana, and they offered to send a mechanic or have me take it to a shop. I declined this isn't a minor inconvenience, it's a serious issue. They then offered an exchange, but with zero credit or compensation for the massive disruption and stress. I decided I just wanted a full refund. That's when they told me it would take 15 business days to process but only after the car is picked up. They can't pick it up until the 16th, and the pickup window is from 8am to 8pm, meaning I have to be home all day. Not only am I now without a car, but I'm stuck rearranging mine and my sons life because of their failure to deliver a working vehicle. No help, no urgency, no accountability. Carvana made what should have been an exciting milestone feel like a nightmare. Please beware this company is not prepared to stand behind their vehicles or support their customers when things go wrong. read more

Very frustrating experience, ordered a car two weeks ago for pick up today at 10:15, we got in a few minutes early. When we get there were greeted by a very lively gentleman who held out screw drivers and let us know to take our license plates off... but we're here for a pick up.... He apologized, and asked to see the confirmation, then said he'll have to check, then the car isn't here maybe it's for daily city, etc etc. Finally a manager comes out and we're told the car IS here but it was just delivered this morning so the pick up is rescheduled to tomorrow... well we both took time off work for this purpose so this isn't ok. Faced with two options, pick up today with no detailing and $100 so we get it detailed ourselves or pick up tomorrow. Very frustrating as option number two is not going to work out, we can't take yet another day off work, and $100 isn't the going rate for car detailing these days. After standing around for 45 minutes the lively gentleman told us if we want coffee there's some in the break room (right off the lobby where we've been standing this whole time) .... you'd think this would be one of the first things people offer to a customer. Anyways, we got to drive off with the car after an hour and 15 minutes total time being there. Started an online search at Carvana online a week ago; found a vehicle we wanted; input my location/zip and it said we would be charged a $390.00 delivery fee, and $3,599.00 taxes. Then proceeded to get qualified for financing thru them, and check on a cash price. Found out Carvana does not take reasonable offers for purchase, and our delivery fee went up to $690.00, and taxes went up to $4,800.00; no trade in. They already charge more base price than comparable vehicles at Carmax; may go there next. Bad form. If you are happy with the offer price, you can then schedule an appointment to drop off your car. While there were some snags in the appointment process (our first booking got canceled due to insufficient information), the overall procedure once you physically bring your car in is very quick and seamless. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM CARVANA! After starting a trade in and purchase from these crooks I changed my mind and formally cancelled the purchase. I also NEVER SIGNED THE CONTRACT. Since it would have been a cash transaction, I gave them my bank account information for their purpose "to check that I had the funds." I never authorized them to wire transfer the money out of my account, but they did (!) Luckily for me, I checked my account balance on the day that they attempted to make the wire transfer and was told that it was pending. After having a mild heart attack I talked to a banker who informed me that the transaction had already taken place which added having a stroke (lol) to the situation. I told them to stop payment and get my money back ASAP. After not sleeping well I called my bank again in the morning, and luckily the stop payment worked. But no thanks to Carvana, who said after I confronted them with the fact that they committed fraud and stole money from me that "we apologize for the inconvenience" and they will return my funds "in 10 to 15 days." Buyer be ware. This outfit is not exactly conforming with the law. Go elsewhere to buy a car. I did and I am much happier for it. Carvana, I hope that for the sake of the public you go out of business in flames. It's not nice to steal money from senior citizens. read more

I hate this company with my entire being. Yes some people had good luck with this company and it seems easy compared to buying at a dealership but ITS NOT WORTH IT. I bought a 2016 honda civic and they charged me TWICE (46k) and took ten days for them to refund the money. Then when I got the car I took it to get inspected again upon hearing that carvana doesn't do thorough inspections. The guys at the shop told me they'd never usually advise someone to return a car but they felt bad not telling me to because the ENTIRE underside of the car was fully rusted which would've cost THOUSANDS to replace. same with all the metal parts in the hood of the car. How the hell do the inspectors miss that? They definitely saw it, just didn't report it. Then I scheduled them to pick up the car for return at my house, and they NEVER SHOWED UP, even though i called them TWICE to confirm the appointment. This has wasted my time and honestly DO NOT work with this company. it isn't worth the risk of buying a damaged car and wasting time trying to figure out how to return it because they don't make that easy either. -10/10 experience. do better. read more

I have never had a smoother car buying experience! i was going to buy a Tesla and trade in my car on the Tesla App, they were offering $19,600 I thought I would check what Carvana was offering and based on the criteria I entered they offered 22,600. I owed about 3k on my prior loan. I initiated the sale around 5 pm, I had already taken a picture of the odometer, license and uploaded payoff note from other lender. I had the option to have someone come to my house for $190.00 or drive to the Carvana office. I chose to go to the Carvana office which was very clean and spacious and the representatives were friendly. within minutes they confirmed the value of my car, they did not try to change the deal, we signed via Docusign on my own device to accept the offer. when we accepted the offer the representative said he was going to initiate the transfer, I immediately received a text the transfer had been initiated and that it would take 1-2 business days, the next morning I received a text that the transfer was complete and verified the funds were in my account already! This was the quickest easiest car transaction we ever did! we started by 5:00 pm and including traveling from Santa Cruz to San Jose we were back home by 7:15 pm no hiccups, no wheeling dealing, no pressure, no pushy salespeople, no bait and switch! My dealings with Carvana can be best characterized as corrupt. I bought a vehicle with them in January 2025. I put $12,000 down on a car costing $27,000, arranging through them a loan for $15,000. They took my $12,000 but failed to apply it to the loan. After sitting on my hard-earned money for 3 months, they said, essentially, "oops" and refunded me the money. In the meantime, their loan vendor, Bridgecrest, was collecting my regular payments on a loan of $27,000 (the one that was supposed to be only $15,000). Somehow Carvana failed to apply my downpayment and give it to the loan vendor. Although they admitted it was their error, they refused to redo the loan for the correct amount, saying essentially that I could just stick with the big loan and apply the refunded down-payment to it (keeping the conditions of the loan at the higher interest rate and larger monthly payments). I have, at this point, spent countless hours on the phone with them, being transferred from department to department. Although they admit it was their error (and there are lots more details of the way they screwed this up), they will not fix the loan. Shameful business practices. Shameful customer service. I'm embarrassed I ever initiated business with them and strongly advise others to avoid same. Read up on them. Lots of evidence that they are not a reputable business (class action lawsuits, etc). read more

I purchased a suv on carvana and upon delivery the gas cap was missing plus I was told by the delivery guy if I'm not home by 230p he WON'T deliver it n there was a 3 hr window 2 to 5pm, then noticed cracks in windshield 2 days later, which he apparently did NOT notice??? My experience is terrible. I purchased a 22 Subaru Outback and I found it was leaking oil. They had me call a repair company which happened to be Firestone. I called and explained the problem and set an appointment. When I got there I was informed,, (we don't work on oil leaks). I informed Carvana, and luckily I was waiting the 7 day return policy. So thinking it was an anomaly ordered another Outback 24. I kept hearing a noise. So I thought it was mantinance issue. Appointment was going to put me past my 7 day windows but what can be wrong with a 24?? Come to find out, the car was in an accident that damaged the transmission mounts. Carvana said to bad and is leaving me high and dry. If you are considering buying a vehicle from Carvana, don't, it's worse than the old slick salesman in used car lots. read more
