Scammed by DGDG. Last year, I sold my fully PPF-wrapped Tesla Model Y to DGDG. During the evaluation, they told me they had to deduct $1,000 from the offer because the car was wrapped and they needed to remove the wrap before reselling it. I accepted the reduced offer based on that explanation. Months later, I was contacted by the person who bought my old Tesla. He found me on LinkedIn to ask some questions about the car. To my surprise, he told me the car was sold to him with the full PPF wrap still on it. I immediately called DGDG to understand what happened. Their response was, "You agreed to the final selling price, so there's nothing we can do now." I spent over 90 minutes trying to reach a manager. Everyone I spoke with said, "I'm not responsible; I'll connect you to the manager," and then the line got disconnected. When I tried to call back, I received no response. When I finally got connected with a manager, she said, "The buyer wanted to have the PPF, so we didn't unwrap it." And while I was still talking to her, the phone got disconnected again. I called back, but no one answered. This was a clear case of deception. They reduced the price claiming they had to remove the wrap, then sold the car as-is with the wrap still on, profiting from my loss. Avoid doing business with this DGDG. If they ask to reduce your car's value for any reason, demand clear documentation that explains the breakdown of the final offer and the reasons behind any deductions. I was so frustrated with DGDG Buying Center I had to write this review. First, when I submitted my car information DGDG did give a little higher price than Carvana. I decided to sell to DGDG. They made me take pictures of the car, payoff information and registration (all the information) prior to coming there. When I got there the person I have been dealing with is A.J. The said he needs to check the vehicle and test drive it. He proceed to check the tires and told me I need all four new tires. It felt suspicious already but I said okay let's see what the number would be. Then he went inside told his superior Nicole who tried to tell me that the tires would be $1600. I said the tires are not $400 each. This Lexus has different size tire in front than the back by design. I knew it didn't cost that much. So I told her I don't like people playing games with me to waste my time driving an hour there. I left frustrated. She texted me saying I put the tires were very good and that's why she wanted $1600 now for all new tires. My tires were between 4-5/32 in front and the back was 3/32. 2/32 is consider worn out. I can see if you want to replace the back tires but the front are still good. I sent her a picture of the pricing from America Tires website which show the front tires are $172 and the back are $232 each. She immediately reply that's not your tires. She would not even acknowledge that she was wrong on the price. I cannot believe the way these people work. I think they probably try to quote a higher price first then when you get there, they will try to find something to get the price down. It also could be that I gave them the payoff first which was lower than their offer so they probably thought I would agree to a lower price. So unethical. Introduction, then a quick walk around the car. With some unprofessional comments. 2.) Test drive. We bought a new Kia last year from this dealership. It was a great buying experience. The one star is due to what happened next. We purchased an extended warranty and prepaid maintenance (never again). Our car was TOTALED on August 15th. We requested a refund from DGDG shortly after on 9/4.. They said they needed proof of the totaled vehicle and we sent the letter from CSAA. Then they said they needed proof from Kia finance (even though they ARE Kia) for the loan payoff proof. Kia finance took forever to get this to us. We finally got the letter from Kia on Sept 11th and sent it to the dealership. They said refund would be processed on Sept 14th. Nothing since. I phoned last week and they said it was sent on 9/30. Then they said they sent on 10/2. It's now Oct 6th and no check (it's in the mail they tell us). Buyer beware! When you inquire about a refund you'll have someone try to sell you a car. No one cares about the customer there after the sake. This place is a joke. More specifically, the sales guy I had my car appraised by, Cameron Wagstuff, is a joke. After being there for 3hrs, he gave me a low ball offer. I wanted at least $500 more. He told me if I change out my tires and come back, we would have a deal. Less than a week later I swapped my tires and attempted to contact Cameron. Was told he's helping a customer so I left a message with his coworker Daniel and was told he would call me back, which didn't happen. I even emailed Cameron and didn't get a response until a day or two later. He told me the market "is changing a bit" and he will try to "work his angles". I knew this was a big fat lie because that same day I was at CarMax and they actually gave me a HIGHER offer than DGDG. I ended up selling my Tahoe to CarMax. The whole process at CarMax was way smoother compared to the DGDG buy center. I was in and out within 1 hr and 20 mins, on a weekend too! If you want inferior customer service and low ball offers, go to DGDG. Otherwise, take your business to CarMax. read more

However, times change and the DGDG buy center is legit. I have no problems selling my own cars on the private market and have done so for 7+ cars by now so I am not new to the process. Team Chevrolet Vallejo: We were so excited when we test drove the car we wanted to purchase. We decided to wait a day to decide. They called us several times. We went in, did all the paperwork and sat through a tutorial of all the features. On the way home and the next day we couldn't get the navigation to work. Then, we couldn't get the car doors to open or the car to start to get to work. Turns out, what they showed us was a demonstration of what other models could do if we had bought the package. The doors wouldn't open because both keys had non working batteries in them. What kind of pre-certified inspection do they actually do?!?! We should have known then and stopped there, but we gave them the benefit of the doubt when they played dumb and said they had no idea. We then took the car back and traded in for another car. When we went to trade the car in, the new car had an electric issue with the door. They fixed it and delivered the second car. What we didn't know, until we received the notifications, was they ran our credit 9 times. They began calling asking us for our social security card, yes the card not the number. They also asked for passports. I had never been asked for anything like this when buying a car. They also charged us for a full year of registration when the car had an expired registration, so we were paying for a registration during the time we did not have the vehicle. Several weeks later, we are receiving bridge tolls on the first car that we no longer have in our possession. Plus the new car we ended up buying is now having more electric issues. The managers do not call us back, they have the sales folks call and offer a possible trade in for a different car. We came out on the losing end of this deal already. It is unfortunate that we had to deal with unprofessional sales people, they are the definition of "used car salesmen." We will not be doing business with them again. read more

WASTE OF MY TIME. We were looking on KBB for the value of my car so we can sell it. It quoted us and within 5 minutes we got a phone call from Mike at DGDG asking us if we would be willing to sell our car to them if they paid our asking price. We said yes and he said we can come in the next day to take a look at the car. He said we would get our asking price if the mechanic passes the car. We had just taken our car to the dealership and had inspection and maintenance done so we knew this wouldn't be a problem. Upon arrival at DGDG, Mike was unavailable and referred us to his associate Henry. He took the car for a test drive and then reevaluated the KBB pricing. Our car is in excellent condition with the exception of a minor fender bender which was fixed. But yet he super low-balled us. We are not ignorant or in desperate need to sell the car but to offer us half of the initial KBB price is insulting. On top of that, Craigslist with cars similar to mine with almost double the miles are listing for way more than what we are asking for. Henry was unapologetic and not willing to budge. Neither were we as we know the value of the car and are not going to be taken advantage of. Mike spoke with us afterwards and said we should have scheduled an appointment with him and apologized that it didn't work out. This meant that he would have been willing to work with us on the pricing but he couldn't have now that Henry already did. Next time, please don't waste my time and have me drive all the way out here just to low-ball the value of my car. And please be consistent with your offer prices between salesmen. Bait and switch! I leased a Fiat 500e on Jan 2 2018 with the intention and understanding that I would be able to benefit driving in the HOV lanes for a full 3 years, per California Statute. When I was denied the HOV renewal, I requested a title search, and learned from the DMV that the car I leased was already registered to DGDG in October 2017 and was issued HOV stickers. There were no stickers on the car when I leased it. They were brought to me later by DGDG. Therefore, I now miss out on a whole year of not being able to drive in the HOV lane as expected. Not only is this a major inconvenience (I reside on the 101 corridor on the SF Peninsula), but a failure on DGDG's part to accurately disclose all facts about the car that is known to them. Failing to disclose such information about the Oct registration was a no brainer. If I had known that I would only be allowed to drive this car for two years, I would have not lease this one. Dgdg claims they are not at fault, that they can't keep up with the California statutes. I find that an odd statement since they are in the automotive business. I have tried to resolve this issue with DGDG since January of this year. My request was to exchange this car for a car that has HOV status for 2019. They said they could not do this, suggested I lease another car for a longer period, which is unacceptable. Last I heard from anyone at DGDG corporate was in March. It has been 5 months since I have been able to drive the car in the HOV lane. Though the car works as expected, I can not recommend DGDG given my concern for questionable business practice. I have filed a complaint with the BBB and will notify other government entities. Hi - I am writing this report because you because it has been over 3 weeks and the retailer CONTINUES to say they have ordered the part and then "forgets" and then tells us it will be in shortly. I am currently on hold with the retailer and the part supplier in order to schedule this. Our part has not been shipped and has not tracking numbers. Everytime we call your service department they just keep making up dates 3-4 days out. I regret every experience I have had with this company from purchasing and now to service I am literally ready to start picketing in front of the store so that everyone understands how poor the service is. Bait and switch. I posted my car on Craigslist for sale, and got emails from someone looking to purchase. Turns out it was someone from DGDG Buy Center. Okay, no problem, he's willing to offer me X price and going through DGDG will make the sale easier than to a private party. He tells me I need to schedule a time to come to the buy center. He emails me an offer and we meet in the middle. He calls me and we schedule a time--I ask if this price is "locked in" or there would be further negotiation. He specifically says "I have a buyer" and that he's "approved for X price" pending inspecting of the tires and brakes. When I arrive, I am told this is not true and they cannot ever guarantee a price before seeing the car. In hindsight, this makes sense to me, but a complete contradiction to what I was told. Let me be clear: there was no ambiguity over the phone. So I wasted an afternoon (took work off) and was given a price $2k less than I was promised. The final number I was given was lower than my dealer trade-in offer when I bought my new car. Had they set my expectations better, this might have been a completely different experience (or I wouldn't have wasted my time in the first place). This might be a worthwhile service for some people looking for a quick sell, but I feel cheated. I've been around the DGDG brand for years, having purchased my last two cars through their dealers -- along with services, maintenance, etc. I was happy to hear about the Buy Center when I was thinking of trading my car in. The dealerships I spoke with had low offers (based on an AutoTrader quote), which was significantly less than KBB. I was contacted by Brittney Olsen from the Buy Center, who on our very first phone call, told me that getting more for my car was not only possible, but a reality. With an appointment set, I thought I'd give it a shot to see what I could get for my trade. After a short test drive, evaluation by the mechanic and a phone call to a dealer down the street, Brittney gave me an offer that was just $100 less than what she had estimated prior to meeting (due to the car needing a little brake work). I accepted and we were done with the paperwork in no time. The Buy Center is filing the forms with the DMV, handling the small payoff of my old car and automatically applying the leftover equity to my down payment at Capitol Mazda. (Note: You don't even need to be buying another car to sell to the Buy Center!) At the end of the day, I could have gotten a little bit more for my car had I sold privately; however, having sold on Craigslist before, you have to deal with scammers, flakes, test drives, scheduling conflicts, meeting people's mechanics, haggling and then all the paperwork on top of that. This process was a thousand times easier, and worth the small cut in profit. I don't know where the DGDG team is finding all this talent, but everyone is absolutely amazing, passionate and genuine -- not to mention can moonlight as a stand-up comic. The appointment process was easy and the center was clean. When my vehicle was inspected, the representative told me that my car was registering a check engine light for a cracked cylinder and this problem brings my estimated value down $5K. Although I wasn't thrilled about the price difference, I was more interested (and concerned) about the cylinder. I called my dealership (where I get my car serviced) and asked for them to check my car. Diagnostic costs and 4 hours later, my mechanic diagnoses my car: the rep at DGDG had a case of FOS (full of xxx). There was no light, no error, no cracked cylinder. They take care of the paperwork, title, transfer, etc. making the transaction fairly painless. Selling my car privately brought up so much anxiety. I first posted my Evo on Craigslist, and the first person to contact me talked a good talk, but he started to negotiate without even seeing the car. Red flag. Then, he started to tell me how he was "off shore" and that his "courier" would pick up the car for him after paying through Paypal. The dude might as well have told me he was a Nigerian prince. Well, DGDG Buy Center contacted me after they saw my add. Albert specifically. He gave me a price range at which the car sells for. He quoted that my car typically sells for $19,000 to $21,000 (which I actually saw on KBB). I brought my car in, but Albert was busy, so they sent Jeff over to take care of me. Their mechanic inspected my car, and told me that the brakes were shot (which I was aware of), and that the clutch felt a little "funny" to him. Despite these findings, Jeff was fair, and offered me the best price possible. They were friendly, professional, and not once did I feel like they were trying to lowball me. The other reviewers that are complaining have to keep in mind that they're not going to give you FULL KBB price for it; that's just bad for their business, and DGDG has to make some profit right? The service they provided me with is as follows: -No visits from strange people. -No one trying to scam you. -A worry-free method of payment (Jeff even offered to deposit my check for me!) -A quick quote. Long story short, I got $18,500 for my car even with the brake repairs that I was aware of. I was only there for 45 minutes, and they had a check ready for me in 2 business days. This review is months overdue but word of advice: don't sell your vehicle to this company. They use tacky salesman tactics, undersell you, make false promises, and treat you like shit. We left our car on their premises with the intent to sell, but paperwork wasn't finalized and these people thought it would be appropriate to empty the car of my belongings and move the car to another location. They only apologized after my lawyer boyfriend threatened legal action. They also promised a ride back to my place, but instead called a taxi which they claimed they would pay for, but surprise surprise - I paid out of pocket. Also, know what your car is worth. What can I say... This was probably the most satisfying and efficient process I've ever had in a dealership. Granted, I was selling my car, but still. Took 30min to sell my 2014 Camry Hybrid XLE. I sent a note to them and was contacted by Ali Bayat immediately. Having done the groundwork, I knew what to expect - ~30% drop or more of car value in first year. The process was straightforward - Ali did an evaluation & test drive (10min). Gave me an offer and we negotiated a bit (10min). That happened to be the best offer among all places. I signed the paperwork (10-15min).
