TLDR; skip this horrible carvel and go to the East rockaway one I've come here a few times and it just never goes well. This time really just destroyed any chance of me being back. This carvel always has either young teens working who don't care at all and don't know how to do anything, or the entire owners family working who also don't care. This time was the latter. Clearly the owners son and daughter were working while he was just sitting there watching them. The son, who had to be like 14, took the orders. He had no idea what was happening, he kept looking to his sister who wouldn't help him at all. He didn't know what any of the toppings were, it was just a disaster. Every time I go in here I try to get a fresh bonnet (I just don't like the frozen as much) and they tell me they are out of the bonnet sauce but that the ones in the freezer were just made. As someone who worked for carvel, they are just lying because they are too lazy to make it. Those cans are huge and lasted a month. It's just not possible they are always out. Usually I don't complain about hairs in food because humans are humans and it happens sometimes but pulling out a long hair of the ice cream right after all of this was just the cherry on top for me. I will not return. I have been going to Carvel for years, the worst experience ever. I ordered 1 small cup with 1 topping, then 1 Large sundae with 2 toppings. The guy put the same amount of ice cream in both and then said he had to put less in the large cup because he needed more room in the cup for the two toppings. The ice cream did not reach the rim of the cup and he wanted to charge me more. it was so outrageous and that he sought to adamantly defend it - because the black cherries are large... it became a joke. Zero stars. Just finished having Jersey Mike's figured I'd get some ice cream and I could just walk down the street big mistake. The young man behind the counter, just now, obviously hates his job. This place is honestly a sh** show. I go in there to get a Ice cream cup and the man and a women were just standing behind the counter not helping me. I walked into Carvel and saw 4 young kids working behind the register and 2 or 3 of the friends on the other side as customers. Besides their friends we were the only customers in the store and it took a few minutes for someone to take car of us. Someone finally took my order (a small oreo milkshake) and the person taking our order asked what was in the milkshake and I had to tell him. after my milkshake was made the kid put it on the counter and then his friend took the shake and walked out the door with it. she came back and said "this isn't my shake" and then put it back on the counter and immediately left. i then had to ask for them to make me a new one because i don't know if she took a sip out of it already, and they didn't even offer me a new one until i had to ask for one. then my girlfriend asked for a shake as well and she wound up getting the complete wrong shake and the cup that she got wasn't even half full. i was very upset at what happened at carvel today and those kids shouldn't be allowed to be working together and having their friends come in as customers and distracting them and causing a scene! read more

This is now the second time that I've had an incredibly bad experience at this carvel specifically so it's time to write a review. I'll spare you the explanation of the nonsense we experienced during the first occasion, but let's just say the owner is non existent during peak hours. This time around I asked for a very simple standard order: 2 small vanilla sundaes & a Reese's dasher... The person had no idea how to make the dasher and asked me if I wanted Reese's cups in it... I was confused so i repeated my order. After being charged for the full order, I returned home to two incomplete sundaes and a dasher that had only Reese's and peanut butter sauce in it. I'm sorry but this carvel needs to get it together and maybe the owner needs to take some time teaching the staff how to make orders.
