My husband had asked if the cheese was moldy, but since I had just purchased and cut it up I knew that couldn't be true. At closer inspection it was clearly the grey/black color of the slate. Maybe that stops happening after multiple washes? Maybe I didn't give it a good enough first scrub? Not sure, but as long as that doesn't continue to happen I see myself putting out this Slateplate at pretty much every party I host! It even comes with a little piece of chalk that you can use to label all your charcuterie items on the plate.

Turns out I probably need a New machine instead of a repair. That is based on the age of the machine and leak issue.
