While we didn't stray from the happy hour menu, Mortar & Pestle is connected to the Curry Up Now so they have a a huge menu to select from if youre feeling hungry. We did notice that the service was a little slow and it took a while to get a drink. We also felt slightly rushed by the staff. It almost felt like they wanted us to order more or leave.

The wagyu fried rice was delicious and I enjoy all their appetizers and sides. The home made kimchi, marinated cucumbers, seaweed soup, egg yolk dipping sauce, all delicious! Service got alittle slow when more large parties came but once they were settled with their order, service picked up again. I wish they had a qr ordering system to request items, that is one thing missing. Overall, loved dinner! The other waitress later dropped a plate and an empty beer bottle, while the bottle was bouncing on the floor and broke during the third collision. Uji Matcha Violet Cream Latte $8 I got the matcha and creamy lavender latte. Grilled Corn Ribs $11 For our appetizer, we ordered the grilled corn ribs with gochujang butter and mayonnaise. The sauce was too much so the corn was mixed with plenty of sauce and too wet. Korean Pork Cutlet $27 Crispy pork cutlet served with cabbage salad and macaroni. On the side there was steamed rice and a separate bowl of house-made tonkatsu sauce. After attempting to follow the directions on his paper, Angel seeked the advice of John at which point John says "just use syrup instead". Price tag = $18. The flavor, and lack of gin in the drink (he used the remainder of the liquor in the bottle, and didn't open another bottle to finish the pour) showed the laziness by Angel in making the drink. Based on the low quality of food served here, and the simple lack of effort and pride of customer service displayed by BOTH of the bartenders, I can't recommend anyone waste their time, finances, or stomach here.
