First of all, the bartender is a really nice older gentleman named Mike. This is the second time I've stayed at this hotel, and their restaurant/bar is very welcoming. He was super friendly the last time too. Good menu options depending on your hunger. Good beer on tap choices too, including some local options. I got the Pork carnitas tacos. Delicious! Only $13. This was called something else before. Slipped my mind what. But if the change of name reflected a change from good to awesome then I was in luck! I had this huge craving for a Fettuccine Alfredo on this weekends trip to San Jose. Lucky me we're staying at the 4Seasons Hotel where Hangar Bar is located on the ground floor. I can write an ode to my most favorite pasta dish ever. But I'm also difficult. I want my sauce to be very slightly runny but not so much that it would take a sec or two before it will start running if you tip your plate every so slightly. The chicken strips has to be grilled and it can't overwhelm my pasta in amount. The sauce has to be covering both the chicken and my pasta when I start mixing them. But not too much where I have a bunch of extra sauces seating there. Well seasoned. No bland sauce. Makes me cray cray! The above I can achieve at home and when eating out I suffer in silence as long as the sauce tastes awesome. Here they hit the nail in the head. I almost took a moment of silence and said thank you to the One that made this possible. A tear almost escaped from my eye. This after not expecting anything quite remarkable. A reach at 4 stars but certainly way above 3. The restaurant came highly recommended by the front desk at my hotel. I walked the two blocks - when I got there, I saw a sign saying the restaurant itself is closed but the full menu was being served in the bar area. I wasn't happy but after searching Yelp and not finding that seemed better nearby - I settled in. And I'm darn glad I did. First, kudos to my server Arturo. His warm greetings and enthusiasm kept me here. Service was very attentive all the way through dinner. I started with chicken skewers chimichurri. I'm very particular about my chimichurri and this truly was among the best ever. For the main course I had fresh - not frozen - wild salmon with vegetables and rice. It was absolutely delicious. Hangar Bar & Grill is tucked inside the Four Points Hotel. I had never heard of this place until my friends suggested we meet here for dinner. Apparently, the restaurant has been around for a while. We came on a weekday. Separately, we were able to find parking right away in the adjacent garage. There was a security guard by the stairwell. Although they have a dining section, it's only used during lunch hours. We found out when they led us to the bar area instead. It wasn't communicated when we made the reservation. We were okay with it, just that we intended to dine and catch up in a different ambience. There were several TVs, all tuned to ESPN, in the room. Our waiter was a cool guy. He conversed with us, gave good recommendations on the menu, and checked on us regularly. Our appetizer was calamari which came out crispy and light. The sauces were good, too. The Plane Kobe beef burger was nicely cooked to order. The add-on blue cheese made the perfect accompaniment but they didn't put enough in it The grilled avocado quinoa salad was fresh. The dressing in the Spinach and Berries Salad had just the right acidity. No matter how full one is, it wouldn't be right to skip dessert. The tiramisu had quite a bit of alcohol in it. No complaints whatsoever :) It was decadent. But the berry cobbler a la mode stole our hearts. We ordered two! This was such a good find! We were impressed by how delicious everything was. The bar is good for small groups. They have happy hour 5 days a week. A drink and/or dinner after work surely beats being stuck in the DTSJ traffic. read more

Came down for breakfast since I was staying at the Four Points hotel. I ordered the avocado toast and it was nothing special. The avocado was diced instead of smashed, which I found odd. The breakfast potatoes also weren't great. The prices are decent for hotel food and I appreciated the free coffee but I was expecting better food based on the reviews. read more

Came here to eat before we did the paint experience in the room next door and overall, it was a pleasant enough of experience. Nothing that will make you foam at the mouth for more, but overall, a decent experience. The food is on the pricier side for what you get as they have to give you the tourist trap pricing as it's a hotel and tourists sometimes don't have any other choices. Service was a bit on the slower side and took my food about 20 minutes to come out, and by then it was paint time, so I had to eat and paint at the same time, which was a royal pain in the rear. Still, the burger I had was pretty good and flavorful. Worked out for me. I'm not sure if I would seek this place out, but if you're in the hotel, then there are plenty of places in San Jose that do a far worse job, so I guess give it a shot! read more

Good option if staying at this hotel and not wanting to venture out for dinner. Not a huge menu but big enough to find something to eat. I ordered the Cesar Salad and added shrimp. It was my healthy meal of the week. It was pretty good and overall not that expensive. Wine was fairly priced though they were out of my first choice. They gave a couple TVs in the bar. Friendly bar tender. He didn't move that fast, though. I was sitting at the bar for a good 6+ minutes before I even saw him (apparently he was in the back). Nothing knocked me out of my seat here. I'm staying at this hotel tonight and came for dinner around 5 pm. Chelo was my waiter. He made me a really good mojito, and it was much needed after my long work week. I had the salmon with veggies and mashed potatoes. Also had a small cup of the best chicken tortilla soup. Home made too, so yummy!!!! The bar is nice and they gave tv's on with sports playing As well. They offer free kettle chips and Chelo even gave me some to go! If you want great food and service, please come here! Came back to San Jose and was craving a hangar burger but sadly the whole menu has changed. They no longer offer the life altering ginger aioli. This sauce was so good, I've replicated it at home. They also took the sweet potato fries off the menu and a few of the dressings. I used to have dreams about how good the hangar burger was, I'm sad to see it's no longer on the menu. There's so much beef that it kept escaping out of the bun, and you get your choice of cheese, along with real fixings and a deli pickle spear. So, I walked a few blocks to the Hangar Bar and Grill. I was warmly greeted by the gentleman who I remembered from a previous trip. He immediately brought me water, silverware and took my order. During an overnight stay in San Jose, decided to check out this restaurant/bar based upon the ratings on Yelp. This is a hotel restaurant and bar space. Half the patrons are hotel guests, but the other half is a healthy dose of locals that hang out here. The employees here were fairly friendly, although no one here moves very fast. The food was better than expected. The atmosphere here is not much worth mentioning. This is one of my favorite places to come for lunch during work. They make a mean burger. I've really only even gotten their cheeseburger here. Well we had a holiday party here once and I like a bunch of appetizers, the sirloin steak and cheesecake. It was alright. But back the burger. I think it's a half pound patty on a sesame bun. Lettuce, tomato, onions and a slice of a pickle on the side. Fries are crispy and on point. You can also get a salad, if you want to be healthier but you're already splurging on the burger - why not fries too. I usually get cheddar or swiss for my cheese but they also have ghost pepper cheese, which a lot of my co-workers love and get. They used to have it for a $10 lunch special but that's no more. I think a cheeseburger will set you back like $13-14 now. And just looking on yelp now, they just revamped their menu again last week. I still see a burger on there but hopefully it's the same cook/chef and it's the same burger. I'm sure I'll be back soon and let you know. read more

Hangar Bar and Grill is just right next door to 4th Street Bowl Coffee Shop which is where bro and I had breakfast last week. It's actually inside the Four Points Hotel only the name Hangar Bar appears on the outside of the front lobby. We got here shortly after seven though it was still dark and they do provide their own parking space in the back of the hotel. Upon arriving we got a every nice hospitabilty greeting from the waitress very pleasant gave us water and menu to see what specialty they have to offer. We both order the American Classic that's two eggs scrambled, two medium sausages, potato tots and two pancakes and that comes with butter and syrup. The meal was more than enough and we used the 20% discount which you get thru Yelp and the savings is just over seven bucks and worth every penny. From the inside it's very clean and modern with TV and an outdoor patio. They do have happy hours only on the weekdays and in the afternoons. Will add this to our list of go to places. PS there were only a handful of customers when we left around 7:45 in the morning. read more

We chose this place today for a team lunch because it was nearly our office and no one had been here before. Decor- cute, white leather, looks more like a cocktail lounge. Service-good but all food came out except two peoples meals which were about ten min later Food- I got the roasted half chicken and it looked a bit pink and lacked flavor. However, others got the fried chicken sandwich and all thought it was delicious. Overall-it's fine for a quick bite if you're staying there etc but not somewhere I would go if seeking great/amazing food. read more

It was assembled with care, including the touch of actually grilling the avocado. You can taste the quality with the ingredients... especially the blue cheese!
