My Dominican husband had a moment in this restaurant. I mean he literally started tearing up. We don't get to eat Afro-Caribbean food too often so our visit here hit a soft spot for him. This place represents Cuba and much of the Spanish Caribbean very well! Let's start with the ambience. The playlist was phenomenal, and included cuban son, guanguanco y más. It was so good that we suggested they open up a space for dancing on certain nights, although it might be a little too tight in there for that to happen lol. The overall decor is thoughtful but doesn't try too hard. This place reminded me of a gorgeous hostel I stayed in while in Habana. It's upscale but far from pretentious. Bathrooms were clean and luxuriously beautiful. The women's restroom has an ornate full length mirror... we love a full FIT CHECK for the ladies! Again, thoughtful decor but not to the point of overdoing it. I hope they paid their designer very well. The place is stunning. Yet somehow still casual. Casa Bembé truly brings new life to the cafe scene in this area. For one, they have a well-stocked albeit intimate bar area. They have great coffee prices and it's amazing quality. Add a shot of liquor to any coffee beverage ($3-$5) for only $3.50. They beautifully and intentionally plate food, which makes you feel like you're spending a bunch of money but you're really not. The burger, for example, is brought out on a historical newspaper printing that's fun to read as you're working away at the meal. My cafe con leche was too cute to NOT take a picture. They serve beer with a cold glass. The check is brought to you in a little treasure chest with some mini merch added. It's the small details that make this restaurant's experience unique without being over the top or obnoxiously kitschy. I loved it. Our server was also great. This place is new, cute, and very tasty. This venue sits in a strip mall and it does not face the main street. It is tucked away in the back. The inside of the venue is not that big. This was my second visit and I decided to swing for the fences. I ordered the steak with salad and Yuca fries. The steak was decent for the price but nothing to brag about. The salad was fresh and the best part of the meal. The Yuca fries are not for me. The fries taste bland and are full of oil. Service is great and I love the decor. The server brought me 3 different dipping sauces. The garlic sauce was nice. The pineapple sauce was the best in my opinion. I thought the food would be better than it was because of the reviews. Sadly not so. The waiter was cool and friendly, but the food definitely not memorable. He recommended the ribs...very disappointing. My side was yuca fries, also disappointing. Smh. And the ribs came with a salad but it was never brought out, and I didn't even ask for it because I was just not looking to be disappointed, yet again. Rewind a bit, we ordered appetizers, the plantain chips with 3 different dips..., also disappointing. So now you can understand why I wasn't keen on following up on the missing salad. The tostones rellenos were easily my favorite bite of the night - crispy plantain cups filled with slow-cooked ropa vieja that were packed with flavor. I decided to try this establishment because it was within walking distance from Zarminali Pediatrics. It's a quaint restaurant with outdoor seating that's dog-friendly. I consider this to be an establishment which you can meet coworkers there or go on an intimate date. There's just enough seating and a bar located towards the back. I ordered the shredded chicken congri bowl with Cuban rice and added avocado (I need my green vegetables). It comes with plantains which I don't eat so I can't tell you about those. The bowl overall was really good and reasonably priced. I wish I knew which of the three sauces that I poured over it. Absolutely loved the aesthetics and vibe. A nice casual spot for a catch up or date. From the main entryway to the bathroom, the vibe definitely checked. Located in a busy plaza with parking spots even though it may get full pretty quick. The server was friendly. He didn't speak English properly so when we asked questions he was a little uncertain. But he was open to providing his opinions. The espresso and mango juice were absolutely delicious. We also got the trio from which the mango/pineapple salsa was the best. The cheese dip was really bland. Got a side of the yucca fries which was also bland and dry; it didn't quite taste fresh and was kind of cold. The cuban sandwich was delicious and filling; it can definitely be shared if you get other items. The chicken bowl was his recommendation and I don't think I'd get it again. The rice and beans had absolutely no flavor. The roasted plantain was the best part of the bowl. We had an overall great experience so I won't discount that. So happy we stumbled upon this place! It's in the same shopping complex as CAVA and Menchie's. We went for an afternoon treat across the parking lot and noticed this new place. We peeked at the menu and came back the same night. Super friendly host greeted us. Prices are very reasonable. We tried the slow roasted pork bowl and the shredded chicken bowl, both with the congri. They were moist and super well seasoned. The accompanying salsas were delicious as well. The bowls also come with a healthy serving of plantains. We will absolutely be back and hope to spread the word to others. We really need more quaint, reasonably priced and authentic restaurants like this in the area so I hope they do well. We visited here spontaneously on Valentine's Day and received such friendly and welcoming service despite how busy they were at the time. It is a small restaurant but is decorated beautifully in an unassuming plaza with parking. We tried the espresso, fried cheese appetizer, veggie sandwich, and ropa vieja sandwich, which were all flavorful with plentiful portions. Our server also unexpectedly brought out the passionfruit and mango juices for us to try, both of which were delicious. This is a great new addition to Buckhead for a more casual Cuban meal with reasonable prices. read more

Moving from Fl to ATL I've been missing the Hispanic food scene and this place knocked it out of the park. This tastes like the food I grew up with, absolutely delicious and super fresh. As someone who has spent time eating my way through the Cuban dining scene in Atlanta, Casa Bembe offers a fantastic entry with flavorful food and great value. My family and I have been a couple times and while they are working through the kinks of opening a new resturant, we have been very impressed by the bold flavors they deliver. Congri is often a great test of a Cuban kitchen as there is no sauce to cover up bland flavors and man does their Congri deliver. The first time we tried it, it was easily the most flavorful and moist congri I have had in atlanta, the second time, it was a tad dry but still the best I have had in atlanta. The Cuban Sandwhich is great, far better than any in atlanta (although I do love El Super Pan). The Vaca frita is great although I do prefer their Lechon aside. We haven't had the chance to try much of the back of the menu yet but excited to try the Picanha. The owners are great, and I know they are likely making a concerted effort to build champions of their brand but they have been very generous, kind and helpful on both trips. They brought a couple deserts to try on our last visit and man let me tell you the Churros and Tres Leche are worth the splurge. The ambiance is cool and the resturant has a great vibe. I do worry as it gets more crowded how they will be able to accommodate the noise and lack of space but those are good problems to have. read more
