Closer to 4.5 stars than 4 stars. Super cool storefront with their decor and bar setup if you want to eat there. I added up getting the media noche with tostones to go. The tostones were fried perfectly and came with a chipotle mayo that went perfectly with it. The sandwich was packeddddd full of meat and came with a side of chimcihurri or maybe it was with the tostones but overall the sandwich was so good. It's hard to find mofongo so when I see it on a menu, it's hard to resist! This one was very tasty and seasoned so well, with lots of herbs and garlic. The pork was also very tender and juicy, and everything went well with the broth. It was very pricey for the amount of food, but that is to be suspected for a food hall. There is some seating inside the place but most of the seating is in the food hall, which makes it nice if someone else in your group gets food elsewhere. El Super Pan has a few locations in ATL and I dropped by on a Saturday afternoon looking for lunch at Ponce City Market. This location is on the first floor with a corner stall--you order at the front counter and then can take a seat at the small bar with a view of the kitchen or take your food anywhere in the shared seating areas in the market. The ordering process could be improved in that the menu prices aren't immediately available until you pick up a menu from the counter directly in front of the cashier. The signage above the cashier only shows the menu items, not prices. Otherwise the staff was friendly and gave me a recommendation when I asked which item they preferred. I went with their Cuban roast pork bowl $10.50 with mofongo $10.00 and a side of rice and beans $6.00. It's interesting bc it wasn't a bowl per se, the pork and mofongo came side by side in a box, which is really just semantics, but I was a little confused why they called it a bowl when it was more of a "plate" or "combo" if you will. Anyways getting to the food, the pork came with a jus/broth to dip it in, which you kinda needed bc the combo of the 3 things above was on the denser side. The flavor was there and the meat itself was pretty good, though I kinda wish I paired it with something lighter/more moist. It was my first time trying mofongo so I didn't realize how dense it would be, its garlic/herby flavor was delicious though! Absolutely phenomenal. As someone with Celiac disease, finding something to eat can be so hard. They were incredibly accommodating and they make sure to change gloves when prepping my food. Nice place to get a healthy Cuban/Puerto Rican style bowl in the Ponce Market in Atlanta's Fourth Ward. We had a grilled salmon filet served over what they call a tropical salad mix that included greens and hearts of palm. The salmon portion was cooked well, with the skin nice and crispy and the inside tender and moist. The salad was a good mix. Their own green goddess dressing worked very well with the salad and with the salmon. We also had pork belly with mashed plantain. The pork belly was tender and tasty. The mashed plantain was good but maybe needed a little something to give it more flavor. It also seemed a little heavy, but maybe that's just what mashed plantain is like. They make their own mango juice, which is very good. Service was efficient. Limited seating at their bar, but also plenty of other seating options in the Ponce Market food hall itself. The biggest reason this one is a 4 and not a 5 is based on value. Although the quality of the food was high and serving size decent for a lunch portion, the price seemed a bit too high (for example, $9 base for the salad, but $15 add-on for the salmon as the protein). $24 for a fairly small bowl seemed a bit pricey. While checking out Ponce city market for the first time I wanted to try something different and unique from my normal taste palette. So I came across El Super Pan during their happy hour. They offered happy hour drinks, at a very reasonable price. I believe they were about seven dollars and you had the option to purchase beer as well. The staff was super bubbly and attentive, the waitress was able to give us some suggestions and we genuinely enjoyed them. I don't have much experience with Cuban food, besides maybe sandwiches and on this occasion I got a chance to try a different sandwich along with a rice and shrimp dish. The portions were very large, as I was able to have leftovers for two more occasions. The flavors were so robust and flavorful with an array of spices and seasoning. We tried the lunch special and was very delighted with the flavors of all the food. The half Cuban sandwich was so juicy, flavorful and hearty. The half sandwich was the perfect size. The salad was very good and much more than just your run of the mill salad with creamy dressing. The Agua Fresca was a great departure from just a typical drink. They had mango and hibiscus available, but the mango was just more delightful. The cookie that they give is also fantastic. Walked over to ponce on the big icy Monday, pretty much everything was closed but El Super Pan and I'm glad it was! I had a great experience, all the staff was incredibly welcoming and kind. They gave everyone complimentary soup due to the cold, which was delightful. The cubano was also top notch and quite large. I would definitely recommend. Wow! I've seen this place a dozen times at the Battery and never went, but today while in the Ponce City Market, I stopped by just to see what they had to offer. Jada immediately greeted me and was so courteous and honest when I asked her opinion on the menu items. She even made a suggestion when I was stuck between a few menu options and man- her suggestion did not disappoint! The flavor profile is hands down one of the best meals I've had this calendar year. I'm not easily impressed, in fact- I'm usually quite critical. However, they were clean, prompt to serve, the food was hot, seating was comfortable and convenient but it's the food... the food is spectacular! I ordered a Beef Pastelito to start while waiting for my meal and the Shrimp Al Ajillo Mofongo bowl with a side of yuca fries made by Miguel and Alejandro. Perfect textures, seasonings, temperature and portion size (would only have liked a little more of the broth for the mofongo)! I'm also 9 months pregnant and very sensitive to smells and find a lot of aversions to random foods so this place was a pleasant surprise and was so good I started this review before finishing my food. I've been eating here for a bit. The Cuban sandwiches are a little pricey but are tasty. The moduros are excellent and the Empanadas are fresh and tasty. This is counter service, but they have a bar to the side that you can sit at. I'm not sure if they provide service at this counter or not. PCM is an open container, so you're able to take your drink anywhere within the location. I think there are clear signs to not go past if you still have drinks. If you're going to eat here, it's easy to park don't the first parking deck close to the entryway. Parking is through ParkMobile and usually costs $2-4 for the first 2 hours. :/ The PCM has direct access to the Beltline and as soon as you get on the beltline, there are several places to sit. It's a very viby and easy place to just enjoy people-watching if you're into that sorta thing. Overall, the experience is fun, I have had better Cuban Sandwiches but this is certainly better than Cubanos ATL at the Chattahoochee Food Works on the West Side by a star or two. We got the shrimp Al ajillo sandwich which was yummy but messy and the Monfongo bowl with roasted pork, loved it! The monfongo had green plantains with garlic and cilantro served like a big roll or cornbread loaf if you can imgagine the size? And it was soft but had somewhat of a crispier exterior that was perfect. I'm so glad I tried something new.
