Don't get the ropa vieja empanadas as they often have fat globules in the meat. I had to send one of these back.

Tried to go to Cafe Bembe today. Restaurant was NOT busy, but there was no service to be had. Gustavo, this is the second time this has happened. This restaurant started off great and we went many times. The service has been slipping however. We had issues with carry out that was the wrong order. Then we have had VERY slow and sometimes unwelcoming service. Do NOT trust reviews more than four or five months old. We want to support restaurants in our neighborhood. Management has got to get it together. We sat down for nearly 10 minutes, and the people brought us the menus and two waters, but we're party of four. Service person was also rude and did not even say good afternoon or anything else. When we got up to leave, sometimes you might expect a service person to ask if everything was OK, but in this case they all three just literally looked at us with indifference. So we went across the street to Bartaco, where their service is consistently good. My ratings on the food above are from prior visits Gustavo - we have supported Cafe Bembe and Polanco and want you to do well, but Cafe Bembe is going to lose clients with this kind of service. I'm sorry to leave a public review, but I have emailed you from your card, and no one replied back.

I decided to try this establishment because it was within walking distance from Zarminali Pediatrics. It's a quaint restaurant with outdoor seating that's dog-friendly. I consider this to be an establishment which you can meet coworkers there or go on an intimate date. There's just enough seating and a bar located towards the back. I ordered the shredded chicken congri bowl with Cuban rice and added avocado (I need my green vegetables). It comes with plantains which I don't eat so I can't tell you about those. The bowl overall was really good and reasonably priced. I wish I knew which of the three sauces that I poured over it. The next time I visit, I plan to dine in because of the service I received while I waited on the food I ordered to-go and to figure out the name of the sauce ; )

Casa Bembe brought out a full Cuban spread and I'm still thinking about it! The tostones rellenos were easily my favorite bite of the night - crispy plantain cups filled with slow-cooked ropa vieja that were packed with flavor. I could've eaten a whole plate of those by MYSELF. And I always find myself coming back for the Cuban sandwich. Something about that perfectly pressed bread and savory filling just never misses. Thank you!!

The experience at Casa Bembé was fantastic! I highly recommend the veggie sandwich with yuca fries. Everything about this combo was delicious. The yuca fries have mushroom seasoning on it that takes it to the next level. I will definitely be back!

Great new little space in Tuxedo Park shopping center. Love the outdoor seating option, service out there was great (sometimes in similar setups the outdoor seats get ignored) Everything I've tried so far has been delicious, do not missed the fresh mango or pineapple juice- I'd try the both if I were you go

Super cute way to deliver the check and free stickers!

Love Cafe Bembe! My husband and I came here on a weekday for lunch because we were looking for a good Cuban sandwich in the area. Claude for the win with thru recommendation;) As soon as we go out of the car we could hear the Cuban music and instantly made me feel at ease, as if I were on vacation! We sat inside by the window. The server was very friendly. We ordered the croquettes, Cuban sandwich and steak sandwich, plantains and rice & beans. Cuban sandwich is one of the best in ATL, steak sandwich is better than some on Buford Highway, plantains cooked perfectly and the sauce that came with the croquettes was delicious! Oh and the rice and beans.. simple but flavorful. Most Mexican and Cuban restaurants' r&b are so bland. We also had the guava pastry- perfect pastry, not too flaky, just right. Oh and the plantain empanadas far exceeded our expectations. Better than the chicken :) We even met the owner who was super friendly and my husband and him clicked right away (they're both Colombian). Will definitely return and hope to try their Mexican restaurant down the road

Absolutely loved the aesthetics and vibe. A nice casual spot for a catch up or date. From the main entryway to the bathroom, the vibe definitely checked. Located in a busy plaza with parking spots even though it may get full pretty quick. The server was friendly. He didn't speak English properly so when we asked questions he was a little uncertain. But he was open to providing his opinions. The espresso and mango juice were absolutely delicious. We also got the trio from which the mango/pineapple salsa was the best. The cheese dip was really bland. Got a side of the yucca fries which was also bland and dry; it didn't quite taste fresh and was kind of cold. The cuban sandwich was delicious and filling; it can definitely be shared if you get other items. The chicken bowl was his recommendation and I don't think I'd get it again. The rice and beans had absolutely no flavor. The roasted plantain was the best part of the bowl. We had an overall great experience so I won't discount that. Probably give it another shot and try something else.

Great portions for the price. Cubano is incredibly flavorful. Check it out, show them some love!

Moving from Fl to ATL I've been missing the Hispanic food scene and this place knocked it out of the park. This tastes like the food I grew up with, absolutely delicious and super fresh. Would give 5 stars except their tostones were a little burnt so very hard, but other than that 10/10. The service was very nice and the vibe of the place is very cool and loved the music they played. Hopefully they get their liquor license soon because I will be back very soon!

"Zamn Zaddy!" is right!…read more It took me 2-days to consume the huge Classic Chicken Caesar "Sammich" but it was worth savoring EVERY delicious bite! Additionally, I purchased the Kale Caesar salad as I've been on a long hunt for an all-Kale Caesar salad. Thankfully, social media led me to try this place. The customer service was excellent. She was attentive, patient, and made me feel very welcomed (felt like a hug). This vendor is located inside of Politan Row at Colony Square, so the ambiance was lively but not too loud for a Sunday. Can't wait to return! I'll take more food pics next time...ya girl was hungry LOL!

You place your order at the register and when your food is ready they call your name out. I ordered the chicken Caesar salad sandwich, the bread pudding and my friend ordered the tuna melt . The food came out fresh and did not take a long time to be prepared. I enjoyed every bite of my sandwich. It was flavorful and the portion size was great. Essentially you can eat 1/2 of the sandwich and save the other half for a second meal. Now the bread pudding was a disappointment. It was dry and lacked flavor, I would not recommend. My friend enjoyed her tuna melt, the only feedback she had was that the press did not allow for the inside of the sandwich to be warm. She thought the entire sandwich would be warm. I will be back for the chicken Caesar salad sandwich for sure !!

I just had a great meal here. I had the mortadella sandwich. I was apprehensive because a few of…read morethe reviews mentioned a small amount of meat on the sandwich. I can tell you they were wrong. The sandwich contained a great portion of meat. You can see from my photos that it was a substantial portion of meat. The meat itself was tender as can be and was good Italian mortadella that almost melts in your mouth. It also had excellent pesto sauce on the sandwich and some of the best cheese around. I just got back from 2 months in Italy and this sandwich was as good as anything I had there. While I was there I had to try one of everything so for pastry I tried a sfogliata which is a multi layered pastry filled with a vanilla custard. This was either brought in directly from Italy or made by an Italian chef. It tasted just like it should. Then I tried the gelato. I had the stracciatella which was very good. Just two notes here though 1) the gelato temp is too cold. You need to let it warm a little before you eat it to get the full flavor 2) the pistacchio gelato served is bright green. This is not a sign of good pistacchio. Good pistacchio should be more of a khaki brownish green color Then I tried the espresso. It tasted great It was very nice inside. Simple setup looking like a gelateria. The service was friendly , fast , and efficient. The best that can be asked for. The highlight of the visit was actually running into Mr. Gio DiPalma that owns the establishment and other restaurants around town. He sat at a table and watched operations. It was nice to to see him personally checking on performance at his establishments

The Panini bread with some of the best I've had in a long time... soft, yet crispy-ish on the outside. Everything about the sandwich was fantastic with one exception: there was a slightly fishy taste on some bites. Needless to say, with the only ingredients being fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, prosciutto, and arugula, not sure where the fishy taste came from. The shop is average looking. I did not eat the gelato, but it looked very good. Service was efficient, but not overly friendly or personable. Person at the counter was more of an order taker, but there were no social greetings exchanged. The bread was so good that I would definitely go back if I had a craving for an Italian sandwich.

The homemade sides follow that same theme: simple dishes done very well, the kind of comfort food that feels nostalgic and reminds you of meals you've had at home. At the same time, that simplicity can cut both ways. Since the ingredients and preparations are fairly straightforward, it does feel like the kind of food you could recreate at home without too much trouble. Because of that, it may not be somewhere I'd go out of my way to visit frequently. That said, it's still a great spot overall, and I'd definitely stop in from time to time when I'm in the mood for something comforting and well made.

There are basically 3 separate lines - one for sandwiches, another for pastries/cakes and to pay. We were greeted once it was our turn for the sandwich line. I opted for the egg and cheese on gluten free bread. My hubby got a chicken sausage, egg and cheese on an everything bagel. The egg is definitely not fresh, and made from a carton, so it was okay. We watched as our sandwiches were getting made and were ready within 5 minutes. We then proceeded to the check out line where we can place drink orders. I got a decaf latte with almond milk (but the cashier didn't hear me say almond milk so ended up getting whole milk and my tummy was not happy about it afterwards). The decaf latte was decent and I enjoyed it for the most part. We were able to enjoy our breakfast outside!
