    Chicken Mole
    Jeanelle J.

This place is truly a hidden gem. My husband and I were in the Irwindale area meeting with one of our business vendors. A Yelp search brought us to Casa Buen Sazon. It is a small, very unassuming building sharing a parking lot with a convenience store right across from the Siracha factory. It's a small quaint restaurant and extremely clean. Food: You are given complimentary chips along with salsa plus a dip of beans/cheese/chorizo. The chips were nice and hot and loved their salsa and beans. I ordered the chicken mole and my husband and son ordered carne asada tortas. Everything was well made and well seasoned. The mole had a little kick which I loved. My husband and son loved their tortas and the carne asada was well seasoned. I loved that their tortas were served with steak fries! We've never seen tortas served with those a they helped to complete that meal. Service is on point! Sorry I forgot his name but he went above and beyond. They even packed our leftovers for us. Besides the authentic delicious food, the service was on another level. Now we have a go to place when we are out in the area again for business. As small business owners ourselves....these are the types of businesses we should support. You will not be disappointed. Can't wait to go back and try another dish.

The service is excellent! It's a small family owned business! The food looks delicious and tastes even better. I highly recommend their cafe de olla and chilaquiles.

I have to say, we dropped by after searching on yelp for a place to eat and it did not disappoint. My husband got the birria plate and it was so flavorful and meaty, not fatty. I got the chilaquiles and omg that steak was on point. It was so good and not a cheap cut of meat. The cafe de olla was good and I liked that it wasnt super sweet like some others I have tried, but that's personal preference. Definitely coming back to try other plates. To top it off the staff was great and she was very helpful. The chips come with salsa and a small side of beans which is always a nice touch.

Amazing customer service! Ordered chips & salsa, queso fundido, and enchiladas verdes -- all made fresh and DELICIOUS!!

This is a new family run Mexican restaurant. Honestly, this place is so delicious! It tastes super authentic and homecooked. This is the best mole that I have tasted here in the States since my trip to Mexico City. Also, the employees are super nice & prepared the food really quickly. 10/10

Don't judge a book by its cover...this hidden gem had a positive vibe, great service and delicious breakfast . On top of all of that the price was great! We started off with chips and salsa which was very tasty and a complementarycup of beans with chorizo. We had the Huevos Rancheros that was topped with a generous amount of sliced avocado. The presentation was fantastic to go along with the great flavor. We will be returning to try the shrimp plates and green enchiladas!

Went to this place yesterday with my mom. It's simply decorated with fresh flowers on the table. The service was great. I felt like an important guest in someone's home. The food was amazing and it looked very nice on the plate. I will share pictures. I would encourage everyone to try this place. It's across from Huy Fong foods in Azusa Cyn Rd and Olive next to a liquor store. It topped off a perfect day with my mom.

    Birria plate

I'm so impressed by this little hole in the wall. The food was so great. Customer service was great. The Birria had a good flavor and the meat wasn't fatty. I really liked their beans and salsa served as the appetizer. Definitely excited to have a walkable restaurant in the neighborhood.

Carlos took amazing care of us from start to finish--super friendly, attentive, and just has a great overall vibe. He greeted us right away, prepared our drinks himself, and kept checking in to make sure everything was perfect without ever being overbearing. The food was delicious, and the drinks really stood out--especially the spicy cucumber margarita, which was absolutely top-tier. Overall, fantastic service and a really enjoyable lunch. I'll definitely be coming back!

My friends and I had plans to go to ZAMA and found out it was closed so we had to find a new place…read more We ended up here just based off the pictures. Let's start with the margarita I got, I did not taste any alcohol in it (and I cannot have strong drinks! So that can tell you a lot) not worth $18. We basically paid for an expensive agua fresca! Then I ordered the carne asada skewers. The first bite was okay, not very flavorful, but I thought I could just finish it. As I go through the meat, I notice so much fat and very little meat. I grab another piece and bite into it, I start chewing and realize that it tasted like raw meat (with a hint taste of raw meat that spent too much time in the fridge) I immediately got nauseous and spit it out on a napkin. I told our server and he asked me what else I would like. I then ordered the fish tacos, he brought it out in less than 5 minutes (kind of fast if you ask me) I try a small piece of the fish and it wasn't bad, I give a piece to my friend and she only got fat. Why is there fat in my fish tacos! I tried to pick through it so I could atleast get full, but I couldn't do it. The server came to pick up our plates and asked me if I didn't like the tacos, I said no but that's okay don't worry about it. I was so disappointed because I was starving. My friend ordered the rib eye tacos and had to pick through it too because most of it was fat. The only good thing that happened was that our server did not charge me for the two plates that I didn't eat. We thanked him, paid the check and left. Unfortunately, this was not the best food and we were excited to eat and celebrate my birthday.

We had family in town and needed a last minute reservation on a Sunday for 12 people. The qualifications: AC and delicious food. Panxa Cocina fit all of the above and the entire squad left the restaurant raving about their experience. Our crew shared a bit of everything fried squash, queso, ceviche, enchiladas, and their verde chilaquiles with over easy eggs and chicken. Each of these items were delicious, but I'd return for the ceviche and chilaquiles. The ceviche was a delicious mix of sweet and salty. Their tortilla chips are made fresh in-house and paired perfectly with the fresh cut fish. I was also impressed by their cocktails. With family in town, we visited a number of fan-favorite restaurants across the coastline. Panxa stole the show for best mixed drink: the watermelon margarita. Excited to live so close and make this a consistent haunt.

However this location was not a nice experience. And with this early evening out experience, it was the first time I have ever pondered that tipping culture may be outdated and obsolete. I have really received better service from Denny's and iHop. When this is supposed to be fine dining I do expect fine service with it too. The food: It was good, but I order the same thing at all locations, the lobster enchiladas. So thumbs up with the consistency at the California locations. I do think the Cabo location has a little extra twist of tasty. Drinks: I don't remember them being this lackluster at locations. The restaurant is so beautiful and has a nice ambiance to it. It makes you feel like you have traveled somewhere outside of downtown L.A. but that is where the magic ends. Our waitress felt very matter of fact with us. She wasn't outgoing and welcoming. I wanted to try something different and was going to ask her for a suggestion, but she really made me feel like she just wanted my order and don't bother her with anything else. When it was time to collect the plates from the table, it was weird. The men helping to clear the table never said anything like excuse me when reaching across us. I am only 5'3 so me being chest to table is pretty normal. One of them came too close for comfort to my chest when reaching across trying to clear the tables. Slow down and pay attention to where you are reaching. At the end of dinner, we never even looked at the dessert menu because at that point we were just ready to go. Upon departure, we had to stand and wait for our vehicles. All 3 of use drove in separate cars. So, we spent almost what we paid for meals in parking. Please Javier group, figure this location out or give it up to a restaurant who is going to deliver food and service as beautiful as the place itself.
