Horrible experience! I suggest you book a restaurant elsewhere and spend your time and money at a venue that honors the customer experience. Long story short, it was my wife's birthday. We reserved a table for 12. We get to the restaurant and were seated fine. We placed orders for drinks then later for dinner. Drinks came out fine. However, dinner took 1.5 hours. Yes, 1.5 hours! We placed our orders at 8PM and they didn't come out till 9:30PM. We asked our server several times what the issue was and he simply told us that it was a large order and there were several big parties ahead of us. We looked around and there really weren't any large parties around. But ok... So we ask for the manager. The first manager, a gal, comes to let us know exactly what the server told us: there were several big parties ahead of us. We questioned this but she had no empathy and quickly wanted to dismiss this without an apology. We asked for another manager or owner. So Francisco came to see us. He introduced himself as the head manager. He heard our complaint and somewhat apologized. He also mentioned they would "help with the bill". Lo and behold, our dinner comes and we quickly ate since we had 3 kids under six years old and it was past bedtime. I eagerly awaited the bill and when I received it, it was a shocker to see Francisco took off the two lowest priced plates amounting to a combined $40 or so. I didn't want to make a scene and ruin my wife's birthday. So when I asked him if they will bring something for her birthday celebration, he mentioned they will bring 2 small samples of ice cream; when we asked about the flan, he said they will have to charge us. I really questioned this and told him that after giving us such a horrific, miserable experience, it would have gone a long way to -- as a gesture -- do something above and beyond a $40 credit on such a large bill. He, too, was very unapologetic. No empathy. I let him know I will leave a review so others recognize this restaurant's incompetence. So, please save your time and money. Go somewhere where they care about the customer. This restaurant is new and does not have their house in order -- in more ways that one. read more

My friend and I visited for the recent opening of Casa de Onda, beautiful atmosphere. Great music awesome food. The decor was top notch. We had the loaded nachos and tropical margarita. I will say the ambiance is really nice but the food is tasteless. The sauce for the enchiladas seemed to be from a can and the beans as well. Definitely not authentic, and I get it, but at least add some salt or seasoning to it. We ordered 4 different dishes and they all were very bland. Definitely would not eat there again. Really disappointed with the false marketing at Casa de Onda. What they advertise online is not what you actually get. When we brought this up with the manager, his response was unbelievably unprofessional, he literally said, "It's my Instagram page, I can put whatever I want," and had a terrible attitude about it. Tulum vibes with friendly and knowledgeable staff. The food was definitely beyond any expectation. Didn't take many food photos because after the salad we just dove in. I didn't know deep fried avocados was a thing but it added the perfect textures and creaminess to the Little Gem salad. Highly recommend the vampire taco and the steak frites with that mouth watering chimichurri sauce. The dishes were well prepared and packed with flavor that made you want to go keep going back for more. I don't usually like tres leches but I would go back for this one. The Como la Flor tequila hibiscus cocktail was delicious and refreshing. We went during soft open and they are clearly on the path to greatness. read more

I visited Casa de Onda Friday night to see what the hype was about. I used to frequent La Vida, which it was before. Let me just say it has transformed into an oasis of bright colors, cute coves to get lost in, and there was amazing music right when I walked in. We had such a friendly, fun server, Rochelle. She guided us through all the delicious food we ordered. She even offered a vegetarian menu for my plant-eating bestie. I loved the salmon and ceviche. The bartenders could use a little more experience making better drinks-- just a suggestion. The atmosphere was nice, but I would say the music was a tad bit loud. We went for dinner @4 and it was a challenge to talk to people at our table. I love music and know they play it, so that's why I really wanted to come here but it was just too loud for dinner time. Also, DJ was "ok". Wish he had played more latin and hip-hop music to match the crowd and theme of the restaurant. Would love to see menudo/pozole added to the menu as well and--- come on, free chips and salsa! We came here to celebrate my boyfriends birthday and called 2 days ahead to hold a table for 20 people. We knew they had lots of seating outside, so we thought it be perfect and they said yes and took our name and number - 2 days later, us and the crew show up and they don't have a reservation for us -_- annoying...but not a problem as they have tons of outdoor seating available and they quickly put some tables together over by the firepit and had us seated. I want to express that the staff here were incredible and attentive and kind, and they were the highlight of our experience, along with the ambiance. I believe we had Sergio as our server. Aside from the service, the food was OK. My biggest gripe was that there were no chips and salsa included and you had to pay $13 for chips and salsa. The guacamole was also $14 and NOT GOOD. Actually the most disappointing thing of the night lol. It was super creamy almost blended, zero chunk, and there was no seasoning in it. Bland as heck. Everyone at the table ordered different things, I won't try to pretend like I can speak for the table as I'm pescatarian and have a biased opinion, but I didn't love my shrimp enchiladas. (They were dry and I didn't like the sauce much). My friend ordered the steak and frites and she said it was good but it was $42. Cocktails were delish but on the $20 side. read more

I'm only writing this review because we were there last night. I made a reservation for four people. We arrived at the restaurant, were served, and placed our food order. We sat for almost an hour. The waitress came and told us the food was taking longer than usual. After two hours, the owner came and apologized, saying he didn't know what was happening in the kitchen. We waited for over two and a half hours, and nothing ever arrived. We decided to leave, and they charged us for the drinks and food that never appeared on my friend's credit card . Today we'll have to call to resolve this problem. I definitely don't recommend this place. It was a very bad experience, especially for being our first time. Terrible service. read more

It's a bummer you have to pay for chips and salsa but it's worth the extra $3. food is to bland ​"I've been a fan since the Friends & Family event, and the food back then was incredible! The mango shrimp ceviche was a standout that mango sauce was such a unique and flavorful combination. Sadly, things have changed. ​The ceviche is now just lime and chili oil, and you can tell the lime juice is bottled, not fresh. The consistency is gone; sauces are either too salty or too sour. While the beef is clearly high quality, the new seasoning is overpowering and way too spicy it masks the meat instead of enhancing it. Even the burger, which used to be a perfect sweet and spicy balance, now just tastes like maple syrup and bacon on an unsalted patty and when i say maple syrup literally i order a side of the bacon jam and i was just maple syrup with pieces of hard bacon the food start sucks at the same time the bamboo came another one the mole before it tasted like i was back in Oaxaca it tasted like true Mexican dish now tasted horrible... ​On a positive note, the cocktails are still excellent and very well crafted. The new decor and vibe are also stunning. It's just a shame that the food doesn't have that same soul or flavor anymore it feels they care more about the looks .. food looks great but the flavor is not there anymore. read more

We didn't know where to go and ended up trying Casa de Onda I loved the drink called "Como la Flor." Husband and I had the fajita quesadilla which was delicious...full of tender carne asada (although you have the option of chicken or shrimp), onions, and bell pepper. We loved the seating outdoors. The heaters kept us warm on a cool, breezy night. The outdoor bar is very nice with plenty of seating. The service was great...Sergio took good care of us. Chef karlo came out, kissed my hand and presented me with the most decadent ranchero steak and eggs. He raised, wrangled, slaughtered and braised the cow himself. He also recommended the pollo truffado, which was a creamy cranberry explosion on buttery, soft bread that danced around in your mouth.
