We came to eat on a Sunday around noon. They have a small parking lot and we paid $8 for the valet. We were seated almost immediately as there were only 2 of us. We were brought water along with the menus. The waitress was very kind and checked in on us consistently. The drinks were really good and the food was delicious. After we placed our order, the food came out within 15 minutes or so. So it was pretty quick. They have a really cool seaside ambiance with the decor. We had a great view of the ocean and boats where we were seated. Food was overall delicious, the drinks were good, and service was excellent. Definitely a place to try if you're around. Best Happy Hour in Newport Beach! We had such a great experience at Woody's Wharf! Amanda was our server, and she was incredibly kind, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our visit. The views are amazing, especially with a great view of Newport Pier, and there was plenty of shaded outdoor seating, which made it even more enjoyable. The happy hour food and drink prices are honestly some of the best you'll find in Newport Beach you really can't beat the value! We went to Woody's Wharf for their Prime Rib night to celebrate my friend's birthday. What a disappointment. We brought birthday balloons to place at our table and not one employee commented about the birthday. However three separate patrons stopped to wish her a happy birthday. Mike was the only server for the whole restaurant so we had to wait a long time to order drinks and food. All three of us ordered our prime rib medium rare. Two of them arrived very well done. We advised the server and they brought two more which still were not medium rare. We asked the busboy if we could speak with the manager but one never came by. We were later advised that the cook left the prime rib in the oven too long. Unfortunately none of the three prime ribs were very flavorful or tender. At the end, we waited for about 20 mins to flag down someone to request our bill. Then we got our bill it was incorrect bill as they charged us for four meals instead of three. Our server never apologized for the poor service or food, nor asked us if we wanted dessert. We were so disappointed that I feel like I need to take my friend for another birthday meal because tonight's was so awful. read more

Awesome place. We came here for their happy hour specials which range from $6 drinks to $5- $10 meals. We came in a big group and ordered a little bit of everything. We got clam chowder, shrimp, ahí tower, wings, calamari, chicken nachos, margaritas, and a beer. We also got the kids fish and chips and kids tenders and fries. Everything was so delicious. The drinks were strong. The food came out fast and our server was very attentive. Everyone here works as a team. They all helped each other running out food, seating, setting up tables and checking in on guests. I think we orderd 10 plates and 4 alcoholic beverages and it came out to $120. While this place has a dive bar field, it's a little nicer being right on the water and has a good diverse menu. For the area it's pretty affordable and the happy hour made my stop worth it. The fish in my appetizer was fresh and all the flavors came together with crispy chips. I ordered mahi-mahi tacos to go and they were just OK in my book. I've had better. The fish was a little too peppery and they were served on corn tortillas - still good just not my favorite. The staff was friendly. Docked our duffy to order food to go here and we love it. We placed our orders inside and waited in the duffy. Food came in a timely manner and the best part is they delivered the food on the dock. Huge menu but we love their shareables especially the sampler platter ($38) where you get to choose any 3 of their apps. We were surprised of how generous the servings were. Our favorites are the bang bang shrimp, buffalo cauliflower, calamari, asada fries, nachos, and fish and chips. The staff took care of everything and made sure we had sauces, napkins, and utensils. From the Moment we entered this Dive Bar in a great location of Newport the greeting was cold. Scott one of the 2 bartenders was a total jerk , acted as if he was superior to us and gave us the cold shoulder . It's surprising there's not a young hot male bartender since it's patrons seem to be older rich men with a lot of young Beautiful 20 years old ladies hanging out for the free drinks and yacht rides lol . I'm sure they would love to look at a handsome young bartender not an old unattractive guy with attitude and a personality like a bland salad . I will never go back . Looking for a new experience, my wife and I made the short trip from Long Beach to Newport Beach to try Woody"s Wharf. We found the short trip to be pleasant. Traffic on the peninsula was moderate. Instructions from Yelp were perfect! The restaurant has quite a bit of on-site parking. We were there for a Friday lunch and parking was not an issue. I would imagine evenings may be another issue. Upon entering we were seated promptly. Our server promptly brought menus in short order and took our beverage orders. My wife and I took a different ordering path that day. We shared 3 appetizers, rather than individual entrees. We shared the small Nachos, Brussels Sprouts and Cevichi. Each of these plates were very good and the portions were more than expected. I had asked for a glass for my beer. Sorry to say, it took a good 20 minutes for my request to be fulfilled. This request was the sole blemish. Im not trying to glaze or overhype but genuinely in comparison to other brunch spots like Ramos House or Laguna Beach spots, this hands down had the best brunch for your buck. The seating is both inside and outdoors and if you choose outdoors you are literally seated on the water next to the yacht clubs. It's $35 for brunch which comes with the bottomless mimosas, an entree of your choosing and a complimentary starter (they gave us muffins). Super cheap for a broke college student like myself who still likes to go out every now and then. The service is not super personal but that's fine because they get pretty busy and there's not much you need for mimosas haha. Overall I would highly recommend if you havnt gone yet. read more

I kid you not, it was so windy at our table that it was actually insufferable. All the other walls had panels to avoid the strong wind, but for some reason the wall by our table had no panel so it was insanely windy. Food and liter kept flying away and into the ocean. This restaurant should be fined for all the trash that flew into the ocean with nothing holding anything down (trust me we tried holding as much as we could down). We sat there for a exhausting 3.5 hours just to get through basic service--drinks, food, and dessert. Meanwhile, we watched multiple other groups, including large parties of up to 15 people, arrive, order, eat, and leave long before we were taken care of. I don't know if it was because of our casual beach attire (which is standard for this area), or something else entirely, but no paying customer should ever be made to feel invisible or forced to wait hours for basic attention. Stopped by Woody's Wharf for exactly what it does best -- a cold beer with a buddy and some Newport Beach atmosphere. First things first: I skipped the $8 valet (no thanks) and parked around the corner for a couple bucks. Small win, more beer money. This place is iconic for a reason. Waterfront views, relaxed dockside energy, boats cruising by, it's one of those spots where you instantly feel like you're on vacation even if you're not. Perfect place to post up with a drink and just watch the harbor do its thing. What makes it even cooler is knowing the history. Opened back in the mid-60s as a fisherman's hangout, it later became a regular stop for old school Hollywood...names like John Wayne and Cary Grant floated through here. At one point Chuck Norris even owned it (and apparently had Jean-Claude Van Damme working the door... only in Newport). Plenty of great places around Newport to grab a beer, but Woody's hits different when you mix the view, the vibe, and the stories baked into the walls. Casual, classic, and very Newport. read more

My group of 4 adults and 4 children were sat at a booth in the back corner that is used as the DJ booth. There's no air flow reaching this corner. No air conditioning... Celebrated my friend's birthday here with bottomless mimosas this past weekend and we had a great time! Parking was almost impossible to find so we opted for valet for $8. The wait was also over an hour, so I would recommend making reservations. We were seated in the back and had a good view of the water, which was nice. They still managed to come out with all of our food at the same time. We ordered muffins for the table with our bottomless Mimosas. They were pretty diligent about refilling our glasses. As someone who doesn't like mimosas, I knew bottomless would've been a rip off for me with their deal.
