This is my go-to spot whenever I'm craving Mexican food. I frequent this place when I'm working since the service is quick, and the customer service is great. There's a reason why this place is a perfect 5 stars. The food is tasty, filling and the meat is tender and not dry. I've had the chicken burrito here, which is really filling and packed with meat of your choice, beans and rice and you can add any extras you want. The street tacos are also delicious and the salsa on it has a little kick. The Torta sandwich was a generous portion. The bread was toasted and packed with meat of your choice, lettuce, tomatoes and cheese. I would definitely recommend this. Great service from the man at the front named Marco, he gave us some delicious chips and salsa dip while we waited and made sure we were very happy with our food once we got it, it took about 10 minutes for them to make. This is the first Mexican restaurant I've been to that has featured empanadas. The soft tacos we tried we're solid and well seasoned, but being of Peruvian heritage, my parents and I focused on the empanadas. They were large, fried, and filled with savory goodness. We walked in on a Friday or around 3PM to find a couple patrons, good sign, and received prompt service. When we left more patrons entered, another good sign. We were already quite pleased with the food when proprietor Marco provided us very warm and generous attention, engaging my parents in discussions about both Peruvian and Mexican cuisine, and more. it will be hard to top this experience, but we will be back for more, I suspect many times. PS I believe we paid $3.99 for each empanada not $2.50 as pictured on Yelp, but they are worth it. Like with any tasty meal, chew slow and savor the goodness. read more

Finally we were able to stop by and try Casa Papi, and we were not disappointed. The tacos were amazing. Definitely recommend the Carne Asada and Carnita tacos. They have this amazing chili oil hot to sauce to add to your tacos, if you're into spicy food . My daughter loved the beef empanada. I didn't even get to try it. The service was amazing after our meal, the owner offered us ice cream we didn't even have to ask. It was a simply delicious. Hearty and filling. Spinach & cheese empanada was phenomenal especially with the chimichuri sauce. The shell was flaky and fried perfectly and had a great flavor overall. Can't beat the price for what you get. Chicken empanada was a miss for me. There's a herb used either thyme or basil I couldn't quite pinpoint it but something was amiss on my palate. I was most excited for the $1.50 tacos. I ordered 2 asada and one pastor. They were good especially for that price, certainly not the worst but not the absolute best I've had in comparison to tacos Reyes' tacos. The salsa was also mediocre but not horrible. I'm so glad I came across this hidden gem this weekend, everything we ordered was awesome! From their authentic Argentinian empanadas, to their stacked nachos and tacos, everything was cooked and prepared fresh. I was super impressed! Most people love pizza, I love tacos. I've been to the sketchiest, bougiest, cheapest and most expensive taco spots, and Casa De Papi is certified Bomb. Prices are solid, flavors on point, I really can't think of anything negative to say. I ended up chatting with the owner for a bit, and I loved the passion and energy he has for his business. This guy knows customer service and knows how to keep customers coming back. Marco, if you read this, thanks for being such a stand up guy! This taco spot is settled in a good sized strip mall with plenty of parking. There are handicap spots as well. Inside offers a few seating options, with a couple tables outside in the front to take in some fresh air while having lunch. My wheelchair wielding buddies will find they may need to ask for some assistance to move a table or chair to get settled inside, but everyone is so nice and professional, they will most likely take care of you before you ask. read more

No complaints here. Went in because of the reviews and glad i did. The gentleman at the register was very welcoming. I got there as soon as they opened and had the place to myself. I didnt feel rushed. 9 ordered 2 carnitas and 2 asada tacos... both were very flavorful. The carnitas were soft and crispy at the same time. The carne asada had good flavor. No chewy pieces like you normally get from other spots. Less than a week later i went back for lunch amd ordered an all meat burrito.. and again, i was very satified.. Oh... they offer you free nachos, (chips with sauce and cheese) while you wait... they're pretty good too. On thing i do appreciate is the simplicty of the menu.. they have a good selection of items but not too many. I have been living in woodland hills for over 20 years and was never aware of this gem Casa De Papi. I was looking for a place to cater for my pastor and group of guests 12-15 to my house. The place is little difficult to find it is situated in a small shopping center behind Nico's. As soon as I entered the place it is rather small but was greeted by a server. The place is very clean it has several areas for table and chairs. When i inquired about catering the owner Marco, avery pleasant man came out to greet me. He listened to the needs of my guests which are alittle challenging as they are some that are gluten free, low fat, vegetarian etc typical in Los Angeles. Within minutes he was able to accommodate all their diets and made me a menu at a very reasonable price. He allowed me to try some of the food very good and the empanadas were excellent. So I'll be ordering my menu from here and I will let you all know how it goes. So far I'm so impressed. I wish I knew if this little joint before. Stay tune I will update you in 2 weeks. read more

From their breakfast burrito, all their tacos, to their empanadas, everything is so flavorful and delicious. Im very picky when it comes to trying new places especially when it comes to meat for a taco. Their asada, pastor, and carnitas was some of the best I've ever had. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. And their green salsa is my favorite. I have to order at least 2 empanadas each time I order as well. STREET TACOS = had 1 each of carnitas and pastor. What a great deal at only $1.50 each, and this is the everyday price, not just a Taco Tuesday special like everywhere else! They are not shy on the meat here at all. Had to eat some filling with a fork before I was able to actually pick up the taco. Default toppings are salsa, cilantro, and onions. This eatery offers some of the best values I've found in the area at lunch time. I gorged myself on 2 tacos and 2 empanadas for ~$8, not including tip. I had skipped breakfast that day and was starving, so I probably would've been satisfied on a regular day with even just half of the items. Service is friendly, welcoming, and fast.
