Had dinner with the family at this restaurant this evening. well I have to say it was delish! The waitress Tricia V was fantastic the food very tasty, we had the chicken broccoli fettuccine, fusilli with meatballs, angel hair with meatballs, aricini, salad & cannoli. Needless to say we were very full and took leftovers home. We ate on the patio since it was a beautiful nite. The Italian music playing added to the ambiance. I highly recommend visiting on an off nite when it's not too crowed and take your time to enjoy the tastes of Italy at they capture so well. Brava! Bellissimo! read more

Casa de Pasta has been here for many years! The name sort of gives the impression of cheap shlocky chain. But let me assure you that it isn't! The decor is nice. It is an old brick home converted to a restaurant many years ago. Very comfortable. The wine list is fairly large, The menu has lots of choices. I wanted pasta and had trouble deciding what to order. I had Chicken Riggies and my wife had a Scallop over penne special. Both were very good. The service was excellent and the price was reasonable $65 for two entrees, a bottle of wine and coffee. My girlfriend and I went into Casa de Pasta right at closing time on a quiet weekday night in May. The kitchen was closing but the owner Joe and bartender Roger kept it open and were so accommodating for our late appetites. We had their meatballs and lasagna along with salads. Have heard good things about this restaurant. My son wanted to go here for his birthday celebration so I made reservations. Walked in the door that we just guessed was the entrance, and the bar was packed. We waited about 5 minutes until we were acknowledged. Got to our table and immediately someone brought us water. Then our waitress and her trainee came and asked us if we wanted something to drink. Good. So we ordered and we got our salads and soups. Our main course came and it began....constant scanning of our table to see if we were done. I mean, it was so obvious that they were pushing us. I had to actually ask for another glass of wine. Seriously?? We had only been there for an hour. Finally the woman who was checking the guests in came up to our table and asked if there was anything else we needed. I feel that if I'm paying $25 for some pasta and a few clams (one of which was not open) I deserve to at least finish my food. Absolutely will not go back. read more

The Best Italian food i have ever had period. My wife and i were visiting, were from chicago. BUt i have to say the dishes were absolutely amazing. I have never had such great home made italian cooking. Great red sauce and the alfredo sauce is AMAZING, the meatballs were really good too!!! We went in on a saturday, we were expecting to wait for a long time we were literally sat down within 5 minutes, on a busy saturday... Space is a little tight but maybe they do that to give you more of a home feeling. read more

I've been enjoying dinner at Casa de Pasta for decades -- Friday night spaghetti plates with my parents as a teen, romantic dates as a 20-something, anniversary celebrations with my husband, and family outings with our children who are now teens themselves. Despite having eaten dozens upon dozens of meals there, I can honestly say I've never had a bad one. Favorite dishes include the Chicken Riggies (Casa de Pasta's version is my husband's all-time-favorite iteration of this local dish), Caito's Calimari, Chicken French (perfect!), the homemade Italian sausage, and Seafood Fra Diavolo. Although the dining rooms are small and the tables are close together, we've always enjoyed the feeling of coziness and intimacy that the small scale of this restaurant creates: given the large number of regulars, there's always a bit of a Cheers-style "everybody knows your name" feel. The recently-expanded bar area has solved the congestion issues in the entryway, and we welcome the chance to relax over a drink while we wait for our table. read more

Food was very, very good. We both got the Friday night Prime Rib which was good but I like mine more seasoned. The sides, lobster bisque wedge salad were excellent. The amaretto cheesecake was amazing. Homemade and delicious. I was impressed with the service - excellent. Absolutely amazing!!! We were seated promptly, greeted by our server immediately, and served bread and water while we checked out the menu. Had the fried mozzarella with bruschetta which was the best we've ever had! Next was salad and soup; lobster bisque was full of lobster and tasty. I had the homemade gnocchi with the meatball which was simply amazing.... So much food we couldn't finish our dinners. They wrapped them up for us to take with us :) I'd recommend this place to anyone visiting. The staff is very friendly, almost felt like I was home. The place is cozy and romantically lit. Service was great. Two people ordered filet mignon and complain that they didn't think it was a whole and that it should have been served with a starch like potato or sweet potato. I ordered chicken French and it was okay but the macaroni and cheese they serve with it was extraordinarily dry, almost chewy. The salad was average. Someone with me ordered stuff shells and said they were so salty they were hard to eat and the saltiness burned her mouth. Another pasta dish was reported as average. I think it was average with high prices. I also feel VERY hard in the parking lot on ice. read more

I want to start by saying that I called about bringing a large party for a graduation celebration. First, the guy who took my call (sorry can't remember his name) was SUPER friendly and accommodating. The food was SUPERB and the service OUTSTANDING! We got a wide range of food from Pasta de Amore to Fish and a little in between. Desserts were excellent, price was very reasonable and portions ample. I can't rave about this place enough! This is the best Italian restaurant in canandaigua! The staff is incredible and the chef knows what he's doing. The Alfredo sauce is homemade (house sauce) and something to be very proud of. I came here last week with my father and two young siblings (ages 7 and 9) for our weekly family dinner outing and was not disappointed. We came on a weekday night at around 7 and were promptly seated indoors, but given the option to sit outside if we wanted. The menu had a good selection and the 'create your own' pasta section was great for the picky kids. Portions were fairly well sized, though I wouldn't have complained had they been bigger. We started with a calamari appetizer which was great. There was a bit too much sauce and it caused some of the calamari to be overly soggy which was the only downside. I ordered the fettucini alfredo and loved it. The alfredo sauce was the perfect consistency and what I didnt finish was perfect for leftover at work the next day. Overall, I'd definitely come back. The atmosphere was great, not too fancy, and the food was excellent as well as the service. read more

We have eaten at Casa de Pasta since the new management took over and really enjyed it. After returning from Florida we decided to try it again. My husband ordered veal parm and I ordered eggplant parm. Our first disappointment was that it was deep fried and very crispy, almost burnt. The second disappointment was that the bread coating was so thick, you couldn't taste the veal or the eggplant. In fact, I didn't even see any eggplant when I cut into it. It was like we were served fried bread patties. The portions were large, so we brought home doggie bags. I wanted to see if there was any eggplant in my portion so I pulled it apart to find the eggplant, and veal were sliced as thin as a piece of lunchmeat. A very big disappointment, and I threw them out. Obviously these things were not homemade and frozen, and stuck in the deep fryer to cook them. we arrived when they opened at 5 on father's day. I ordered chicken French. The chicken was tender, tasty , perfectly done. It had that zing that i look for. Its nice how it is served with zucchini and artichokes. The italian wedding soup....very good. The mac and cheese ....yummy it was a dry mac and cheese a little different from what i'm used to. The lasagna was good as well. The bread that they serve gets a thumbs up. Our server ,Faith is new, she's very sweet. She gets a thumbs up as well! We will def be going back. read more

This restaurant is a hidden gem in an area of Canandaigua that is off of the beaten path, but still close to the business district. The small, homelike atmosphere on a residential street is a fitting place to find the ambiance of a classic North Boston Italian restaurant with tasty dishes that make you feel like you are a guest in a traditional Italian home. The wait was reasonable and pleasant at their cozy little bar and we hated to leave the pleasant conversation with Roger the bartender to be seated at our table. Nonetheless, the waitress was helpful and attentive with a real flair for small talk which added value to our night out without the kids. The real value came when we were served a delicious prime rib and a wonderful chicken Parmesan with several side dishes that were out of this world. The salads were great too and the portions were generous, so you should definitely plan on leaving with a hefty container of leftovers for a midnight snack.
