Another great spot recommended by my barber, Joel, right across the street. Who would have ever of known this hidden gem would be in Healdsburg? So, there I was, driving down center street on my way to my haircut appt and smelled chicken in the air and noticed the plume of smoke billowing from the outside of Casa Del Mole. I asked Joel about the chicken and he told me the guy that runs it is family to his girlfriend. So what did I do? Yeah, I went over there to see what it was about. Being from Richmond, I'm use to seeing chicken, steak, etc being grilled outside of a restaurant and it's hard not to check it out when you got that BBQ aroma in the area. I met the owner, friendly guy and got an order of chicken. I did not know the chicken came with hot corn tortillas, rice and salsa.. all of this for only $14 and the chicken was FIRE, do you hear me!? Anyway, this is my third time back within a month, so that should tell you all you need to know. Go patronize this small business, they deserve all of the love and support. read more

I ordered from Casa because I really wanted pozole, and it was on the menu. Then I decided that nachos would be a good side. This is a grocery store and "deli" . It was delivered by Door Dash in a timely manner, but the food was not edible. I was afraid to even try the soup after two bites of stale nachos. The chips were stale, the guacamole was a liquid squirted from a plastic bottle. You don't want to know more. This was your warning. read more

Found this place on a walk when looking for something cozy on a cold day. Recommend the champurrado, was exactly the vibe we were looking for. The staff was very kind and attentive, especially considering it's counter service, and made sure we had everything we needed. Pretty sure that pozole increased my lifespan with its deliciousness. read more

I was Rolling Thru Healdsburg on Business!!! Then I got Hangry and I used my Trusty Yelp Application to find Casa Del Mole !!!! I rolled there in my Truck and pulled in to their Private Parking Lot and Parked my Whip!!! And rolled in. Casa Del Mole is a Locals Spot !!! It is located in a Mexican Market!!! It would be hard to find if you didn't know it was there!!!!! I proceeded to the Rear of the Market. Where the Taqueria is located!!! I strolled up to the Counter and Perused the Menu!!!! The Cashier took my order!! I ordered a Al Pastor Super Burrito Loaded!! I paid by Credit Card!!! I grabbed a Table and Chilled out!! A Server Delivered Chips and Salsa and a Glass of Water to my table!!! While I was Waiting for my Burrito!!! My Burrito came In 15 minutes!!! It was Pretty Good Sized and had a good. Girth !! For being a grocery and eating place I thought the price were a little high I paid 3.75 per and 15.99 for posole the tacos ate a Little more the the restaurant but if you ate on a rush then this would be the place to go. You can do your shopping and grab a good authentic Mexican food plate. Must say this is not a romantic or classy place but a good hole place if you want to go in and out. read more

I was driving down Center Street and found this taqueria tucked in the back of a Mexican grocery store. It's a hole in the wall which sometimes has the best authentic Mexican food. I never judge a book by it's cover but I might be tempted to at this taqueria. I looked at the menu which is hand written on a chalk board in Spanish. Ok, I was able to figure it out except for the title on the right side of the board that says "Fines de Semana". I knew what the food was and figured it meant "Weekends" as birria, menudo, posole, etc. take hours to prepare and cook. There are no prices listed so I ordered anyway as "hole in the wall" taquerias generally are not expensive. I was disappointed to not see al pastor listed. I ordered a super carnitas burrito to go and asked them to cut it in half. The order came out to $10.50 plus tax. The carnitas were ok, but I've had better. There was lots of meat in the super burrito. It had refried beans, rice, some raw red onion, lots of sour cream (too much), no guacamole, and a little bit of cheese. Some pico de gallo with cilantro would have been nice to round out the flavors. Go to Big John's burrito bar. Their super burritos are fantastic. read more

Bad service, WAY overpriced, $15 Gordita (not a plate, just the Gordita) Carnitas meat was dry (sitting around forever I guess?), the masa tasted stale, this was served on top of a sprinkling of lettuce (just to make it soggy?), no salsa of any kind. no prices on the chalkboard menu or anywhere else (why?) Located in the back of a cute (but overpriced) little market. I eat Mexican food all over SF and the north bay and I'm particularly fond of trying the many food trucks. They saw this Gringa coming. The big sign on the building declares "Taqueria" but be aware that this is a little grocery store as well. I'm ashamed to say that I have never eaten a taco here, but I have many times bought items like pumpkin seeds, jamaica (hibiscus flowers) for tea, masa flour for making tortillas, dried chilis and various cans / bottles of salsas. There are bigger Hispanic markets in and around town, but if you need just a few simple items to complete your at home Mexican food dinner, then this place will suffice. read more

If I could do 0 stars I would. The staff is terrible. I grabbed two drinks from the store but then saw their restaurant and decided to grab a bite and pay for drinks there. There was a huge up charge for paying the drinks at the restaurant instead of at the front register. When I asked about the double price difference, staff had a distasteful manner. Casa Del Mole is a great little Mexican grocery store with a little unassuming restaurant in the back with a few tables. The menu is a chalkboard written in Spanish with no prices but 2 super burritos and a beer were $30 so the prices are very reasonable for Healdsburg. These guys make the best carnitas tacos in Healdsburg. The fish tacos are also good. Prices are great (especially for Healdsburg). I come in and order two carnitas tacos for under $8 (these are large tacos-not the tiny tacos you might get at a taco truck) or two fish tacos for around $9. and am full. That's lunch. Thank goodness for Casa del Mole--in a county where eating out (even at casual places), even just takeout, has become prohibitively expensive. read more

This hole in the wall taqueria is a hidden gem in the back of a grocery store, behind the meat counter. No need to bust out the Espanol diccionario, "se habla Inglés". It's my go to taqueria in Healdsburg and not surprisingly many of local friends don't even know it's here. The family who runs this is from Oaxaca, so you must try the namesake mole. If you've never made mole yourself from scratch, believe me, it's got about 20 ingredients and is very labor intensive. Trust the professionals at Casa Del Mole, don't try making it at home. Tacos and burritos are really excellent. The carne asada, pollo, pastor and lengua are all delicious and worth ordering. A wide variety of mexican sodas and beers are here, they have a mexican grocery store a few steps away. This is a reliable go-to spot. It's not the cheapest taqueria, but for my money, it's darn close to home cooked mexican and worth your attention. Decor is simple wooden tables and everything is kept very clean. On the way out, pick up a Mexican religious candle and some Mexican candy from the store and your visit will be complete. read more

I have to say I really love this little hole in the wall! It's a small supermarket with a taqueria in the back. The taqueria makes super authentic Mexican food ready to order. The set up is similar to chipotle where you walk up to the back register and order. It takes just a few minutes for your food to pop out. You may take it to go or eat there. We cam across this grocery market and I wanted to know what they were selling. I ordered 4 tacos (2 tongue and 2 asada), a bowl of their menudo and freshly made chicharones. I must say, the chicharones were good! They are ordered by weight so you can have as much or as little as you want. The tacos were plentiful. They had lots of meat in it. They also give free chips and salsa while you dine in and wait for your food. It is delicious. The price is a bit on the high end, but this tastes better than those fast food chains. Menudo was a lot. I got this ordered to go. It cost $14 and came with a side of fresh tortillas, chopped onions, cilantro and spicy sauce. I feel the soup can have more taste to it. Very cute interesting Mexican market with an eatery in the back. Looked intriguing with tables packed with local Mexican folks. Menu was all in Spanish on a chalkboard with no prices but figured a hole in the wall will hopefully be reasonable. We ordered a mole cheese enchilada, 2 chile relleno plates and a few cokes. Price came to $65...yikes. Order came with excellent chips and salsa. The enchilada with mole sauce was just okay, a bit heavy on the cinnamon. The chile relleno was horrible, almost inedible. Uncooked chile with no batter...none...so raw it was hard to cut and had a thick block of unmelted cheese inside like it has not been fried. The ranchero sauce also tasted basic like just plain tomato sauce with no seasoning. Not the flavorful accent iit should be. I've made better myself many times. Left most of my plate uneaten. Will never go back. The locals are maybe getting something different?? I cook and eat at home more and more these days because it's tiresome paying exorbitant prices for sub par eats. Disappointing. This is a sleeper. You have to have an over-active ability to sniff out the improbable to find this place. If you do find it, find the tacos. My former best taqueria in California was in Chular, Salinas Valley, Taqueria Hildalgo. Still a fave, but Casa de Mole is my new numero uno. Now why people order the conventional taco choices is beyond me. Try the lengua, tripa, or what's not on the menu, boche (boo-chay) which is pork neck. Three tacos is plenty. A few chicharones to begin with is good idea with a bottle of beer. I have tried the mole 'plato' which did not come close to the tacos because of their drab version of the rice and beans. I guess I don't understand Oaxacan mole, because it did not have the intensity of flavor and depth that I have grown to love. If you love mole, get yourself to Cascabel in the Montgomery Village in Santa Rosa. The rest of the store is so much fun with one of the largest selections of spices and herbs I have ever seen in a Mexican grocery store. Enjoy yourself. read more

When you eat at a place like this, you realize how most of the USA has little idea what great Mexican food is. Chains like chipotle, illegal Pete et al can make a fine burrito. But, having one with lamb, tongue or tripe? Now we're talking about a whole new level. Five finger thick burrito for $8. I could barely finish it. Their chile rellenos are the best I've ever eaten - and they make an amazing posole soup. When I eat soups, there is usually a little in the bottom of the bowl when I'm done because I get tired of it... but this posole made me want more! This place can be hit or miss. We recently had a big miss. I ordered 5 burritos and 3 tacos. It took almost 30 minutes with only one small order ahead of me. I ordered a few burritos without salsa so they wouldnt be too spicy for kids. All burritos ended up coming with spicy salsa so the kiddos didn't really eat anything. They don't list prices and the order was almost $90-most little taquerias are about 1/2 that cost in the Bay Area so that was a big surprise especially because much of the order was vegetarian. I love to support small local businesses but the food, price and quality were just not very good. read more

A shout out and kudos and enormous thank yous to hard working immigrants everywhere, but especially here in CA, where for example, today on New Years Day, I had a hankering for huevos rancheros early in the morning because I really can't think of a better way to ring in the new year 2021, than a hearty plate of huevos rancheros! So we dosome research and traipse off in search of this little gem: the people are super friendly and warm, we asked them how they prepare the dish and because they were just opening up the shop, and the stoves were not yet warm, they asked if we could wait 10 minutes, which of course we did. The lady was so diligent in carefully preparing everything, from making the chips to warming the tortillas and making sure to pack the sauces on the dude, not missing the little side salad that comes with it. She was so careful with so much attention to detail, we were humbled that in a New Years Day when everything else was closed, the town square desolate. This is such a gem of a place, neat and clean, where in the front there's a little authentic grocery store with green vegetables and fruits, walk all the way to the back and there's this little taqueria. The prices are insanely cheap and the quality and attention to preparation unbeatable. read more

PLEASE...AVOID...This store at all cost!!! In particular the deli. My husband went in early this afternoon to purchase fresh chicken from the deli and when he got home and opened the bag it smelled horrific(like rotten fish). He went straight back to the store to let them know the meat they sold him was spoiled and they should take the rest of the chicken out from behind the glass counter. He asked for them to open a new box of meat infront of him to assure the new cuts were fresh and safe. When he came back home we had a hungry family waiting for supper so we put the chicken to boil, not 5 minutes had passed and the entire house smelled like rotten chicken!!! I bagged the cooked chicken and took it back. They never took the chicken out from behind the deli from the earlier visit my husband made theycontinued to sell it and refused to give me my money back. They gave me a $10 store credit to buy what ever else I wanted. To top it off an elderly man was there with the same frustration as mine as he also had purchased their rotten chicken, how ever he spent $100 on his purchase and was denied a refund, the poor man was in tears and I can't stop thinking about all of this! What is most disturbing to me is that this market owns a couple of the higher end Mexican restaurants in Healdsburg and I can only assume they are cooking rotten meat that has expired it's shelf life at the deli to avoid financial loss. Our community must be aware of what is happening and the unjust customer service of not granting a refund for rotten food you purchase at this market. read more
