This is the place to go for super inexpensive and delicious food. Tacos at 1.75 and Super Burrito at 8.50. Not the place to expect organic saffron or fancy pants dishes. I came on a weekday for lunch. 8 small tables, enough to hold folks waiting for to go orders and to eat in if you want. Limited drinks selection as others have said. They have several beers and the CocaCola in bottles plus a few other choices. To try it out I had 3 tacos - one al pastor, one crane asada and one al pastor. The steak was generic tasting. The al pastor was tasty and had a good spice level. The Carnitas was very good, roasted well and tender. I also tried a pollo sopes. The chicken was good - it tasted like the same marinade for the carne asada - but unremarkable. I didn't care for the sope itself - tasted like a generic supermarket frozen sope with generic tasting cheese inside. I didn't eat half of it and would not order that again. All of these had fresh cilantro and toppings on them. There are three salsa choices - a smoky mild, a weird green avocado sauce that was medium and a green spicy salsa. Liked the red and green, but not the medium. Bathroom was okay, not filthy but could use a deep clean. Dishwashing soap for hand soap was a miss. Excellent place for inexpensive tasty food. Specials every day - $1.25 Tacos on Tuesday! I took home a burrito with the carnitas, I liked it so much. Give a try, like it for what it is.

Nice little taqueria keeps to traditional style of food, so not your normal american enchiladas. Great daily specials. Meats awesome. Could use a better beverage selection and or fountain drinks.

Food was so good. A little off the beaten path but worth it. And the cashier was so friendly and accommodating.

The food is not very good and don't sit outside. It smells of urine and drunks sitting around begging for money.

My favorites are their carnitas tacos (taco tuesday = $1 each), but their quesadillas, floutas, nachos are killer as well.

The house speciality seems to be bowls - but they have tacos and burritos as well. Menu does not do a great job of describing what the bowls are like, but we decided to give those a shot. While we waited we enjoyed the salsa bar. They had a wide assortment of salsas and jalapeños, limes and other goodies. Salsas were fairly good. Bowl itself was like a burrito without a tortilla - just some crispy corn chip strips give it some flavor and texture. Cilantro rice and beans were tasty - but the carne asada was excellent! I like the addition of kernel corn for flavor and texture, although the "avocado" was a drizzle of green goo that wasn't exactly guacamole either. Overall not too bad, but not sure I would return here either.

The counter service was good. We had the street tacos and tried the el pastor, lengua, and birria. The el pastor was greasy, yet dry. The lengua and birria was some of the driest I've had in a long time. Given that the meats were uninteresting, the small sprinkling of onion and tired cilantro didn't save it. The only thing that made them edible were the sauces from the salsa bar. All of them quite good, so that's the silver lining. Oh yes, they serve the tacos with a small side of fried onions that were also very good. My search for Santa Rosa's best taco is still on.

It's a small and casual operation - there's a large seating area behind the restaurant with self serve water. Limited parking out front, and the back lot (with the seating) also has some space for parking, but it's not hard to find parking in the surrounding area. The food here is awesome - deep flavors and genuinely a ton of craft in their work (tamales and tortillas made fresh, you can see them making it through the window by the register). The food is pretty classic, but just executed so well - I really don't think you can go wrong. My personal favorites are the mole enchiladas / tamales (gently sweet, smoky mole, not overly chocolatey and really balanced, especially with a side of pickles) and the fish tacos (GIGANTIC).

I felt it had all the components to be successful. I liked the texture of the batter. It also wasn't plain so that was nice. Good ingredients and flavors for sure. What came up short was the ratio of batter to fish. Way too much batter for the amount of fish. Also it was totally the wrong fish for the batter. Way too soft. I don't know how you eat these in the restaurant but they are a mess. If I'm paying almost twenty bucks for fish tacos. I think I might expect slightly more elegance. Menu did look very interesting. I could see coming back but the fish tacos are a pass
