The daughter that works there is the worst if you don't like something she treats you like shit and calls you names. I asked for a refund of the food that I didn't get or what we didn't like. She then gave me attitude and told me she wasn't going to refund everything. I told her that's not what I was asking for and she started to Yell at me and tell me to get out of her restaurant and proceeded to call me more names and to tell me to shut up! This is a horrible place to go because of the service of the daughter that works there! She should be ashamed of herself for treating her family business like that and disrespecting her mother like that! I work in a restaurant I even manage one and I sure the hell know never to treat a guest that way but obviously she doesn't view people as a guest they're just customers! Not a place I would ever go again! That little girl needs to be tamed! read more

Some of the best fried calamari I've ever tasted. Noyo Harbor has some other great places to eat, but this is our new favorite in Fort Bragg. read more

Had a terrible encounter with one of the staff. A young woman behind the counter with a terrible attitude. She told myself and my two sweet adopted girls from Africa to 'Go eat somewhere else'. As I was leaving she called to me to 'get my n**ger kids out of her place'. I turned around, incredulous and angry. We exchanged some pretty adamant name calling and she actually came from around the counter, charging me, hit my phone out of my hand and proceeded to hit me about the face and upper body. The rest of the staff came quickly and pulled her off of me. She continued her racial slurs, yelling "f**king N**ger kids!!!". It was unbelievable. The staff, I must stay, were extremely apologetic and embarrassed. They whisked the young woman (the staff is all related family) to the back and bought my lunch. I really should have pressed assault charges against that young woman. It was very traumatic for myself and my poor little 3 year old girls. I am still sick to my stomach. There is NEVER, EVER an excuse for violence nor racism. One of the staff members had suggested, "Well you called her names". As if that somehow justified her actions. I repeat. There is NEVER an excuse for it to escalate to violence. Unbelievable that something like this can happen in this day of age. EDIT: I just read the response from the owner and I am speechless. I KNOW they don't have security footage because it would NEVER have shown what she is suggesting. It's unbelievable that she would just blatantly fabricate. Unbelievable. I had purse and phone in hand and toddlers in the other when this woman ran at me and attacked me. I was at the door when she charged me! And the staff (all family though) witnessed it all, hence the profuse apologies and lunch. In fact, because you all were SO apologetic and pulled your screaming, fist-swinging counter girl into the back room quickly, asking me what you could possibly do to make up for what she did, for what she SAID---I didn't call the authorities. I have a video of the woman coming at me. I just caught her coming from around the counter, running at me and knocking the phone to the ground. I am 61 years old. I am not looking for confrontations! Yes, after her racial remarks, my attitude was bad. I was yelling back at her the same explicit names she was calling me. But nothing, nothing excuses violent PHYSICAL attack nor racial slurs. I had hoped my girls would never have to hear things like that. And you, Owner, should have owned up to that fact. NOTHING. You are asking for a law suit. And that is a fact. read more

My favorite ciappino around! Whenever we go to the Mendo/Ft. Bragg area this place is a MUST for me. I've eaten a lot of ciappinos and this is 1 of my all time faves! We found this place on accident because another place we were going happened to be closed. I was mildly disappointed not wanting to eat Mexican at that time. Much to my surprise i saw the ciappino, which was what i was wanting and thought why not? So glad i did! My guy are his usual super burrito and also found it to be 1 if his best. So we both go back and order the same thing every time. Based on our food, I'm willing to bet everything is great. Last minute trip to get out of the bay area lockdown during this crazy pandemic. Loaded the RV and stayed at the Harbor RV campgrounds. We just drove around looking for a good seafood place. Randomly picked the Casa Del Sol and was pretty happy we did. Wife had the fish tacos that were excellent with all the veggie toppings. My seafood platter was OK. The batter was dark suggesting maybe the chef needed to change the frying oil or cut the frying time ??? Anyway satisfied that we could even get out and take a short vacation. read more

My boyfriend and I ate here yesterday and were not pleased with anything. The chips were cold and stale, the salsa was bland. I got the chicken wet burrito which was ok, but my boyfriend got the three meat fajitas and said none of the meat had any flavor. Both of our meals came with white rice which also had no flavor. I was surprised after eating here of the positive reviews. I ordered a draft beer while pondering the menu. Being a Mexican seafood restaurant I assumed we would get complimentary chips and salsa. Seeing that was not going to happen I asked the waitress who said yes they have chips and salsa and quickly brought both to our table. The deep fried chips were cold not warm but cold! The salsa was very, very bland no heat or even spice to it. I decided to try the ceviche and the other person in my party ordered the deep fried shrimp. The shrimp order seemed to be ample and well fried however it did not come with any cocktail sauce instead the waitress brought ketchup. Ya ketchup. The ceviche order was on a plate and seemed to be dry for a ceviche dish. For drinks I ordered 2 beers and my guest ordered water with lemon. It was $11.00 ish for the 2 beers and $3.50 for the water. Very disappointing and I will not be back! read more

We were two (a couple) sitting with three friends that were paying separate..they scored big time on tip and charging us this..we will not be back because of this. however...we just looked at the receipt...and I know we gave the waitress a nice tip, and so did the party we sat with,BUT(!!!), the restaurant included an 18% "service charge" for our party of five or more. Our waitress scored BIG TIME! I tipped her 25%, plus her "service charge" of another 18%. I've ordered the cioppino and the Brazilian seafood stew. Both had good flavor...BUT. I'm sorry, but if you overcook seafood...shrimp, squid, fish, muscles, clams...get tough. There's a range, of course, and Casa Del Sol's cioppino and Brazillian seafood stew were both overcooked and had relatively tough seafood (but I've also had worse). It's such a shame. It just requires attention, possibly adding different seafood at different points, and making a POINT of not overcooking. Tough seafood in a flavorful broth makes the experience so much less satisfying. In the end is it worth $29 (Brazilian seafood stew) or $33 (cioppino)? I would say no. read more

We had a most excellent lunch here. Got the blackened fish sandwich but not AS a sandwich due to food intolerances. It came on greens with house made ranch and a side of house made aioli. This was one of the best meals I've had in years. The fish was perfect, the greens were crisp and chilled, the dressing and sauce absolutely excellent. The restaurant was simple and comfortable, nothing outstanding but pleasant with great photos on the walls. The service was impeccable - granted we were the only customers at a VERY late lunch, but the young woman who served us was charming, informative, helpful, and prompt. The house white wine was very fine. When you find a place that does the basic extraordinarily well, it rates a high mention. Good food doesn't need to be trendy or incomprehensible. It needs to be what Casa del Sol does - outstandingly well prepared and delicious to eat. I recommend this lovely place in Noyo Harbor without reservation - it's well worth your visit. read more

What a great find! Before last night my family had never been here before and we were not disappointed. We started with chips and guacamole which were both awesome! The chips are thick and delicious. My husband and daughter had calamari as an appetizer as well and loved it. I had the wet burrito with chicken and not only was it perfect, it was huge! The chicken is marinated in lime and their green sauce was phenomenal. My husband and daughter had the fish and chips, and both agreed that they were better than what they normally get at the Sea Pal.
