Trista the waitress was warm and welcoming. We had initially decided upon eating at an "upscale" restaurant up the hill but after terrible service there we followed advice and wound up at Casa Del Sol. WOW! This will be a destination spot for us from now on. My boyfriend loved his meal so much he went in the back to thank the chef/owner. If I could give this place 20 stars I would. I really like the shrimp tacos with mango salsa. It's the one thing I ever order here. I don't eat in so I can't say much about the place, but I almost never go to Fort Bragg without getting those tacos, and I've never had any complaints about anything there. read more

Strolling down the street during the dinner rush, my son and I decided to check this restaurant out. He ordered the kids shrimp and chips and I ordered the seafood pasta. The outside of the restaurant is deceiving - inside is nice, the food is fresh and the service is outstanding. We came around 3pm, but they were kind enough to accommodate us with dinner menu. First time here and we had no idea how it would be. Nothing fancy inside but the food was excellent! We started with a bowl of the best clam chowder I've had in years. Comes with yummy garlic bread. Tucked down in the harbor area of Fort Bragg nestles Casa Del Sol. The highlight here is the freshness of their ingredients and of course, the seafood. Lots of attention comes out from the kitchen, as well as from the floor staff. Everything feels like it's made from scratch...even the table salsa is very tasty. Here are some of the dishes we've enjoyed: Chicken Enchiladas (3) are super fabulous! Homemade tomatillo sauce, moist chicken, yum beans and rice make for a huge satisfying meal--I feel this dish is 5 stars. You can substitute a salad for the rice and beans, which is quite nice. The Fish Tacos (2) are marinated in lime anchiote sauce, covered with cabbage, sour cream and Pico de Gallo, served with rice and beans. Can order with chicken, veggie or steak. YUM. Camarones ala Diabla is a good dish. Moist large shrimp sauteed in garlic and chili sauce. If you're in the mood for prawns, this is it. Served with rice, bean, tortillas. Fish and Chips is a large portion of fresh rock cod in a crunchy batter served with nice thick potato fries. Service is friendly....if you're wondering where to have lunch or dinner, I can recommend Casa del Sol in Fort Bragg. A casual restaurant where the flavors are big---a mixture of Mexican and South American cooking, with coastal sensibilities sprinkled throughout the menu. read more

Loved it , great flavors, hospitable and clean. The bean dip was really good lots flavor the salsa was also very fresh. The habanero was awesome worth paying for. Had the wet burrito with steak, recommend, the steak was marinated and grilled, plentiful with steak. Wife had the Camarones diabla, she also her meal, had lemonade too delicious. The worst! To start I ordered a bottle of Corona beer, waitress comes with a beer in a glass not in the bottle! I accepted it without mentioning anything because I was tired of a 270 miles road trip. Then my wife and I ordered shrimp fajitas, both plates came with Luke warm rice and almost room temperature black beans. I had the opportunity to visit Casa Del Sol for lunch. Located in the Noyo Harbor, the restaurant was easy to find and surrounded by interesting old fish markets and rustic local restaurants. Upon arriving I noticed their daily specials and the shrimp fajita burrito peaked my interest. I finished the order with chips and salsa and a side of guacamole. Overall, I had a great experience. The food was fresh and flavorful, the salsa tasted uniquely homemade, and the service was prompt and friendly. I will definitely add Casa Del Sol to my list of favorite local eating spots. read more

Had the fish tacos and they were exceptional. My friend had the California burrito with chicken and it was huge- you definitely get more than what you pay for! They have a great selection of beers; their margaritas are not that great since they come premade and are quite sugary (don't recommend at all). They have a quaint little bar as well as table seating too. A bit pricey but it's located right in the wharf. Plenty of parking and all seafood is fresh from the day. Our server Jennifer was really nice and offered fantastic service along with great conversation. And we didn't have to wait very long for our food- although we came in during off season. read more

We hoped this place would be good based on high ratings. It isn't. Black beans were straight out of a can, not even drained. Fish tacos were a few small pieces of fish on 2 low quality tortillas covered up with some pickled onion slices dyed a sort of lavender color and a few bits of cabbage. One came with some bits of mango. Both came with some gloppy boiled white rice. And for these two poor quality taco plates, an unbelievable $51. Avoid this place. Maybe it was an off night. I ordered the fish in lemon caper sauce. The fish was fresh but the sauce was terrible...way too heavy-handed on the capers! The accompanying veggies were over cooked. I ordered a glass of sangria and what I got was a wine glass with what tasted and looked like Hawaiian punch with a little wine mixed in and an orange slice on the side. The price was $12...for what I swear was Hawaiian punch. My husband ordered fish and chips. The breading was somewhat soggy. Obviously they had tried to cook it in oil that was not hot enough. I make fish and chips at home, so I know what can go wrong. I would give Casa Del Sol two stars based on the service and cleanliness, but I have to drop it to one star because of the sangria, which was a total rip off. Shame on them! read more

We had a mediocre dinner here despite expecting much better from the Yelp reviews. Sangria ($12/glass) was syrupy and didn't taste like there was much wine in it. Caesar salad was oily and vinegary with no "classic" taste. Veggies tostadas were fresh tasting but bland. Fish tacos special with halibut were not only tasteless but the fish was overcooked and dry. I ate less than half of it as the fish wasn't edible. We were shocked to see on the bill that they were $25 for two tacos! Salmon quesadilla also featured overcooked dry salmon. My daughter ate 1/2 of one and later i the evening developed a severe intestinal reaction to her meal. The guacamole also had little taste but the rice and beans were good. . The only happy camper in our group was my husband who really enjoyed the Enchiladas Suizas with cheese. At neighboring tables the fish and chips looked good--that's probably the best bet at this place. Service was spotty--the waitress seemed annoyed and unwilling to answer questions when we were ordering. In summary, we spent $40 per person for bland and barely edible Mexican food. My husband and I came here for supper on Valentine's weekend ! I ordered the steak taco plate and the first two bites I had were all fat and quite frankly disgusting! I did not like but I'm giving this place 2 stars as my husband got the fried seafood plate and he said his was delicious ! My rice was also bland and the beans were not home made / they came from a can I'm sure ! In my opinion these were the worst tacos rice and beans ever!!! I'm also giving this place 2 stars as the two waitresses were amazing despite having a constant flow of people - they were both just amazing and continually smiled and kept a great attitude! Fantastic Rock Cod, a huge shrimp California burrito and a good sized BCR for my daughter. Great portion sizes. This restaurant had the absolute worst service i have ever encountered in a restaurant. While I was eating my food which was terrible, cold and undercooked (calamari) I witnessed the owner of the establishment get into an altercation with another guest because the guest complained about their food. She called the guest all sorts of names and told her to get the 'f' out of her restaurant. She was very unprofessional and my kids and myself felt very uncomfortable, not any situation I would have liked to subject my children to during an evening out. The service for ourselves was terrible and while the restaurant was not busy, it took forever for our food to come out and it cake piece by piece. I would not suggest this place to anyone. Horrible service, TERRIBLE food, bad experience. The owner had no etiquette nor professionalism. Would have rather eaten at Taco Bell. read more
