This place is a mom and pop place. Ambiance is casual but with black tablecloths and paper napkins. We ordered the lemon caper rock cod and the etouffe. We really appreciated that the seafood was fresh, not overcooked and was perfectly tender. The lemon caper rock cod was very zesty and heavy on the seasoning but it was good when paired with rice and bread to mellow out the salt. Fantastic lunch at Casa Del Sol! What a GREAT SPOT!! Everything here was so incredibly fresh & delicious. I ordered fish tacos & my hubby ordered the crab enchiladas (both came with fresh fish brought in right there in Noyo Harbor). We shared both dishes which were just amazing. My daughter & son ordered food off of the kids menu and really enjoyed their meals. My daughter loved drinking the freshly made lemonade. The service was outstanding!!! Very well run place. I just ordered food from casa del sol on food runners. Can't write a review there yet so might as well leave one here. Can't leave one on our restaurant reviews page because I'll get scolded by every local who takes a bad review personal. I'll never order from Casa Del Sol again. I ordered the seafood pasta that came with 99% of the seafood on the side in shells? That doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me, considering some shells were empty and not in the pasta. I also don't understand why they stated there would be scallops in the pasta when there is muscles, shrimp, clams and calamari. Didn't state any muscles would be in it. Calamari has tenticles which some wouldnt mind, and isn't a huge deal but I'm not going to eat them. The french bread they gave me was really small and hard but my main complaint is that there's something in this pasta that is cracking my teeth and slicing my gums? Maybe sorts of shell, that's all I can think, but every other bite I'm literally spitting out because it's cracking my teeth! My boyfriend ordered the battered seafood combo that comes with fries, beer battered shrimp, scallops and rockcod. We asked for extra scallops which they didn't provide. We would have paid more. He got a very little amount for $23. When you pay $70 on an order and don't get alot of food and everything just fudged up, you really don't want to come back to this place. I had the Chicken Marsala, they cooked it to order and even accommodated some of my food intolerances. It was excellent.

We tried Casa Del Sol for the first time last weekend. My husband had the fish tacos and said they were the best he has ever had. I was going to order the Lemon Caper fish but saw someone's Fish & Chips go by and decided I really wanted those steak cut french fries. The Fish & Chips were excellent and I was happy it came with coleslaw also which was good but not the best I've ever had. We will definitely be returning. I had the steak fajitas with flour tortillas. It was really good my hubby had shrimp camarones ala Diablo. He said it was good, but really hot. I did not like the sauce on his. This is my favorite place in town to get fish and chips and I've tried them all even sea pal and although sea pal is definitely good...The portions here are much larger the pieces of fish are thicker and the beer batter is not greasy ... the people that own this place and work here are very kind and helpful... Great dinner at Casa del Sol tonight. They have a MUCH broader menu than the name implies. Mexican food, yes... AND much more. I had a rock cod with mango salsa, mashed potatoes and veggies. Other dishes at the table included ...(a special) penne pasta w/ coconut curry & scallops (cooked perfectly). Also a chicken marsala. All three of us loved our meals. Great portions. Very reasonable. Fantastic lunch!! We were looking for fresh seafood, but something more than fried fish and chips. Case Del Sol had a creative menu with several options that fit our preference among other items that sounded wonderful as well. Our attentive server started our meal off with house made, delicious salsa and chips. Lackluster flavors. Had the taco salad of which the ingredients included hard boiled egg, garbanzo beans, and rice. Peculiar for a taco salad. I wish I had Tapatio in my purse to add flavor. Camarones a la diabla tasted like sauce out of a can, and the shrimp was fishy. Served with a ton of white rice and humdrum black beans. The chips were good, store bought salsa is better. My waitress,Janette, was very personable and helped with my request for grilled instead of fried Seafood Combo - the chef -Ben-even came out and talked to me to make sure I would be happy And Wow!!!! Super succulent scallops , prawns and local fish were served up in a delicious garlic and capers with fresh herb sauce- such a surprise in this obviously well loved Local's hang out . My sides of a loaded up green salad and fresh potato fries were the perfect way to top off this meal . Highly recommend for single travelers or dates and families . My family and I enjoyed dinner at Casa Del Sol for the first time last night. It was AMAZING! I was shocked to see only one other table seated when we walked in but it was a Sunday and we were ok the early side. Our server was great and the food was so fresh and delicious!! We started off with the calamari it was nice and crispy . The clam chowder was yummy and had plenty of clams. The toasted bread that was severed with the soup was perfection. My son had the seafood pasta. He loved it and they definitely didn't skimp on the seafood. My husband and I both had the fried seafood plate. Once again the seafood is fresh, the breading and oil used is obviously fresh as well. Great customer service and high quality food. This will be a must when in the area from now on. read more

Posted this on google a while back. Needs to be on Yelp too. I decided to try this place with my girlfriend for the first time based on reviews and pictures, and was extremely disappointed. Where do I begin.... I don't even leave reviews, but felt compelled to do so after this horrible experience. What struck me right away was the room's ambience. There was only one other couple tucked away in the back. There was no background music and no typical restaurant "buzz," which led to a very awkward and uncomfortable setting. The restaurant had dirty table cloths and did not provide basic dishware for our extremely rubbery and clearly previously frozen clam strips. We both ordered the tea which had a very acidic and chemical aftertaste. We reordered new drinks which were fine - so not sure what the deal was with the tea. I ordered the fish and chips, which came out as soggy as a wet diaper. My girlfriend ordered the camarones a la diabla, which was described to me as frozen shrimp in a tomato sauce with some garlic - not exactly appealing. For nearly $70 I would have expected very high quality and fresh dinners. It is extremely dissapointing to be right on a dock, yet still receive frozen, poor quality food. The other positive reviews are an inaccurate representation of the restaurant at this time. It is very safe to assume that I will never come back, and will recommend others to avoid Casa Del Sol at all costs. read more

We had an early dinner here today, and it seemed as if there is new ownership since the first time we were here some months ago. Anyway, I wasn't expecting anything amazing, we were hungry and I remembered liking this place from several months ago. I ordered the wet grilled veggie burrito and oh my gosh -- an impressive amount of veggies (sometimes Mexican restaurants don't always know what to do with veggie burritos) cooked perfectly - mushroom, peppers, onions, even carrots (cooked carrots, trust me it was yummy and not weird) etc... the sauce on top and guacamole and everything was so flavorful, even the flavor of the rice really came through...nice lime coming through as well. I was literally saying "mMmmm" the whole time. Obviously I'm very enthusiastic, haha, but it was so delicious I had to write a review, especially as they don't have many reviews yet on the web. But, the server was very nice, so we thought we would give it a try. The three of us decided to split an order the Nachos Grande with chicken. We watched a beautiful sunset in the Noyo harbor and then went cruising the fish restaurants in the harbor, and this place looked best, price-wise. It's a very clean, nicely decorated place. Very attentive (and also very cute!) waiter. My daughter had the shrimp wet burrito and it was huge; she had to take half of it home. Smothered with green enchilada sauce, our favorite. I asked the waiter about the fish tacos. They are made with local-caught rockfish, broiled, not deep friend. The ultra-fresh fish is what made these tacos extraordinally delicious. They were covered with shredded cabbage and lettuce and pickled pink cabbage. The waiter brought us about a tablespoon of their house-made Sriacca sauce. My daughter could stand it, but all I had to do was dip my fork in it to get a jolt! Very nice place, reasonably priced. read more
