    Dirty salt shaker
    Rosie B.

Horrible experience. First they gave me extremely dirty utensils (see photos). The spaghetti carbonara was extremely salty, I took two bites and could not bring myself to take another. The waiter was kind enough to take it off my bill. My son ordered their Prime rib special, and while he enjoyed it, they gave him weird tasteless black beans instead of ranch style beans that he asked for. We also ordered mussels as an appetizer, and they served it the same time as our meals. Most of the mussels were spoiled and rancid and unfortunately I swallowed many because I had nowhere to spit them out. I am now extremely ill and have been vomiting and in the restroom all night. Terrible terrible dinner, and it's my birthday! I'll have to spend the remainder of the night in my hotel because my stomach is churning and in pain and I'm now starting to get a fever. I'm in so much pain and discomfort I'm considering going to the ER.

    Green beans from a can

We've been coming here for decades and it's gotten progressively worse. Not sure if it's the ownership or staff but the food and service are severely lacking. They are now doing a special steak menu on Wednesday and Thursday nights so we thought we'd try that. The prime rib and ribeye were good and cooked to the right temperature although the ribeye was very thin (see picture). The bigger issue though is that the sides were atrocious. They had ranch beans listed as a side and the wait staff brought saad instead. When told it was supposed to be rach beans, he said that wasn't on the menu so I pointed it out to him. When he asked another staff member, he was told it's ranch style black beans. When they brought out the beans, they were not seasoned and tasted like they came straight out of a can. The baked potato had zero butter or anything on it and we had to ask for some. The prime rib was supposed to come with horseradish but we had to ask for it. The ribeye came with green beans that were rubbery and tasted and looked like they came out of a can. Three wait staff waited on us and it's like they weren't communicating at all. One dropped off steak knives and our dishes came with knives so we had 4 steak knives on the table. Their house wine smelled and tasted sour and awful. Luckily we swapped out for a nice cabernet. That said, we had to wait about ten minutes just to get some water. After all the mistakes, our waiter never came back. We will not be back. Some of the dishes on the menu are actually quite good, but it's very hit and miss and not worth the risk. Eat somewhere else.

    Linguine Viareggio
    Debb L.

WOW !!!! The food and the service were even better than the great reviews I'd read looking at options for making reservations. The Linguine Viareggio was absolutely fantastic!!! Shrimp and the day boat scallops were cooked to perfection, with the scallops almost melting in the mouth. The fresh basil strips topped off the very flavorful and perfectly 'light' cream pesto blend. The butternut squash lasagna too was combined with great flavors and much love in the prep! Great Thanksgiving coffee and delicious lemon-pie gelato to top it all off.... We will be returning customers with no doubt- great job Team Verona!!!!!

Our first time here since we live out of town...what a treat! I had the butternut lasagna and my husband had the Lasagna Al Forno. Both were delicious, as was the Caesar Salad. Our server, Luis, was also great and attentive. On the way out we met Kathleen Murray, the owner of Cucina Verona, a very amiable and nice person. Hope to be back here again!

Petrale Sole is the birthday celebration dinner selection for the 79th year! accompanied by the Tuesday Family Dinner 11/18/25 with a cup of minestrone soup and spring greens with basil vinaigrette; pasta with delectable walnut sauce; and the fantastic goat stew on polenta. A memorable celebration evening.

Complimentary drink, we didn't get the name of it but it was sweet and went perfectly with our order!

This was our first trip to Cocina Verona, both the restaurant and their store. Both places have a warm and inviting atmosphere. The restaurant has some of the nicest staff and the food was absolutely some of the best I've ever had. We were so excited to go for the specialty mixed drinks but didn't realize they were only served at dinner. Our waiter came back after ordering our food and gave us complimentary cocktails that he made just for us! Was one of the kindest things I'd experienced on that trip. We loved the restaurant so much we went back for dinner that night. The store front has so many fun, authentic Italian imports, cheese, pastas, sauces, and their pastries were incredible! Please, if you are in the area and want a spiritual dining experience, do yourself a favor and eat here!

    Valentines special
    Linyi Y.

Last minute decision to have a sweet Valentine's Day dinner at cucina verona during our Mendocino getaway So lucky they were able to squeeze us in because everywhere was packed! They had a special Valentine's menu, so we ordered the lamb shank and the red Cuori in heart shapes . But honestly, our favorite were the fresh oysters So good! Although the main entrees didn't meet our satisfaction, the waitresses were so kind and lovely -- such a warm and cozy night to remember.

Very nice and cozy space with love music. The server was very attentive and flexible. We got a dinner set with a pizza and the price was really good with the amount of food we got. The pizza tasted phenomenal and I also got a beef stew that came with the dinner set.

I got the burger and the Dungeness crap melt (make sure to ask for sourdough for this - a must) - both were delicious (and the home fries were crispy and well seasoned). My partner got the flying monkeys potatoes and the Dungeness crab omelette - both were also delicious to me, but the omelette did have noticeable use of butter so I would caution future patrons who are lactose-sensitive. Interior decor was very wizard of oz themed; it adds nicely to the charm of the yellow walls and warm/inviting energy in the small dining space offered. Definitely a memorable spot. The only reason I deducted the star is for the rewards system being unclear. I had my missing transactions caught up recently, but there are small placards on each table that advertises $10 off your next meal and $10 off on your birthday after you sign up for the rewards program; however, there are no clear instructions on how to redeem your rewards without having to explicitly ask the waiters/waitresses at the restaurant. I collected sufficient points to have $10 refunded for the second meal I had, but instead, I only collected points. I suppose I would be able to catch up at the future meal, but I live so far away, I would not be able to reap the benefits unless I decided to come out here to fort Bragg during my birthday. The likelihood is low since I live in the Bay Area. I would recommend making this clear, and for the rewards system/app to include clear instructions on how to redeem points collected for the discounts.

We decided to eat breakfast here because they have tables outside. (We have 3 dogs) We took a bench out front not a problem. The owner said that as long as the dogs stay in the stroller we could eat inside. This made our day (it was cold outside). I love that small town community feeling. The owner, who was on the premise totally made us feel at home and welcomed the dogs. The waitress seemed to know most of the regulars. I came here looking for the biscuits and gravy. The pictures looked great. Also got a side of ham. My wife ordered a ham and cheese omelette. Her's came out stuffed with ham. I was kinda surprised considering the price of meat. It's right behind the Sea Bird lodge sign and next to Chevron. Once you found it you can't miss it. From what we can see there is no signage on the restaurant with the name on it or we totally missed it. It's not a new restaurant. It's got that homey feel to it. I'm guessing it's a mom and pop shop, a small business. And we should support those local all businesses and not hit up Dennys if we can. We waked in at 7:08an in Wednesday, May 6, 2026. The place was quiet. One others gentleman was there. When we left a party of 3 were just settling in. They have a full menu two sided that they hand out upon entry that is laminated. You are welcome to sit anywhere. We chose a window seat in the front corner. The temperature was pleasant inside and I was able to shed my heavy jacket and was comfortable in my jeans and a light sweater. They have 2 whiteboards of additional specials. We got the bacon, cheese, and bacon omelet with a side of potato's and a biscuit. You have choices of toast, pancake, or biscuit. As for potatoes you could have gotten a potato patty instead. The servings were huge. We only ate half and were full. Now we have leftovers for tomorrow's breakfast. The potatoes were real fresh potatoes. Some still had the sling on them. They were cooked on the griddle. I should have asked for mine extra crispy as I like crispy potatoes. They weren't salty or really seasoned at all so I added some salt and paired it with ketchup. Very tasty. The omelette was chuck full of crispy bacon and avocado , it could have used more cheese. The biscuit was light and flaky, but it lacked the buttery flavor. It was a true big biscuit that was home made. There was an array of jams and jellies to choose from and peanut butter. We chose apricot. Overall it was a good breakfast and I highly Reccomend this place if your hotel doesn't offer a free breakfast like ours didn't. It was also nice that we could walk over from our hotel.
