Unbelievably bad, bland, and expensive. I visited when they first opened and the few things I ordered seemed very good. I don't know changed? It seemed as if they really didn't want to make the effort. This was a recent takeout order. Clam chowder: Was the best item. It had nice flavor and didn't taste like flour like all of the other Fort Bragg restaurants' clam chowders do. The downside was the clams were small and chewy, as if they came out of a can and were added too soon in the cooking process. When you use clam meats that small you add them last, stir, and remove from heat. Little River Inn has the best clam chowder in the area. French Fries: not bland. Oversalted. No ketchup. Caesar salad: The croutons were little tiny squares of dry bread. They didn't seem to have any seasonings nor to be toasted. The shredded parmesan cheese seemed to be pre-purchased and not freshly shredded on-site. There were a lot of romaine leaf ribs. The add-on chicken was overcooked and dry. The chef's dressing, which is a code word for your not getting Caesar salad dressing, was the creamy kind. Romaine lettuce + some shredded cheese + some itty bitty croutons + dressing that isn't Caesar salad dressing does not make a Caesar salad. Cole Slaw: Bland. Fixed it with a little salt, vinegar, and hot sauce. Taco Plate: The fish tacos were so so. They put lettuce instead of cabbage on them. The lettuce wilts next to the heat of the fish. Cabbage is a much better choice and it adds crunch. No taco sauce. The black beans were just plain is if they had been dumped from a can. The rice was plain also. Neither of those had any seasoning whatsoever. Sorry. I wanted to like it. read more

5 of us arrived about 6:30 on a Tuesday night. When the waitress got to us, the first surprise was no Margarita on the menu. After bringing our drink orders, the waitress announced they were closing in 15 minutes. Finally she told us (2 couples and a single person) that they would only allow one credit cared to be used per table. We asked if there were any exceptions given we did not have cash . Yet another hidden gem in the industrial area near Noyo river. You'll swear you've taken a wrong turn as you head down the hill to the marina area but rest assured, you're on the right path. Casa Del Sol is a small restaurant with plain and dated tables and chairs, but everything is amazingly clean and well cared for. The food was phenomenal on all fronts. Fajitas, fish tacos, burger, caesar salad and chicken fingers for our finicky eater, were all fantastic. A full bar complements the food. We had the owner serve us. He obviously takes a lot of pride as we watched him hand polish every single glass before placing them behind the bar. Highly recommend this place whether for lunch or dinner. read more

This is my favorite Mexican/Latin restaurant in Mendocino/Fort Bragg area. The ingredients taste the freshest. My main complaint/feedback is PLEASE have more vegetarian options. I follow them on Facebook and they post daily specials but there's never a veg version. After our waitress forgot couple drinks and mess up our food order, we asked for the check and he said I have to charge in one bill I said why we ask the begging we asked for two different tables he say if you guys pay with two different checks you guys have to pay I'm cash or with credit are but just one. I asked WHY my grandparents and my mom and dad want to pay their own check and my husband and I ours and our kids is the reason why we asked for different table. He answer very nasty so he brought the checks really angry so we pay in cash but we didn't pay any tip. I was shocked when they told me that it would be over $25! For a burrito?! $5 extra for vegetables seems outrageous to me. And $3 for a tiny thing of salsa?! (which I decided to give back!) Most Mexican places I've ever been to give salsa for free! Even after giving the salsa back, the burrito was $22! I was barely full after eating it. What has happened to our economy?! The woman at the counter seemed annoyed and frustrated that I mentioned I felt it was overpriced. Then I was frustrated and annoyed. I went away feeling like I had been completely ripped off and disrespected as a first time customer - and doubting whether I'd ever go back. I needed to wait a while before I could even eat the burrito because I was so disappointed. I spent some time trying to get perspective and realized that this restaurant must be really hurting if they feel the need to charge five dollars for vegetables and three dollars for a tiny thing of salsa. Inflation affects us all. I was happy to discover that the burrito was actually quite delicious. I'm hoping that the restaurant is able to make their prices more fair. Maybe $2-3 for extra veggies, and a little thing of salsa, complementary when requested?! Truth be told, almost every place out on the coast is overpriced because it is a tourist area.
