Have the say, the dimsum wasn't the best; the pan-fried turnip wasn't fried enough, the shrimp rice roll was too sticky and thus stuck to one another, and the siu mai (pork dumpling) didn't have a specific flavor. But some of the more unique dimsum items were really good, such as the vegetable dumpling and a unique red rice flour rice roll with fried shrimp (?) inside. The crab claw with shrimp was also quite special as well. The dinner food was much more impressive; in particular the hot pot oyster with onions and scallions and the goose palm. The beef with broccoli (angus beef) was cooked to perfection, with similar notes made 5 years ago to this effect. The Peking duck was excellent with crispy skin, though I wish there was more duck meat to begin with. The Guifei chicken was nice, with a tender skin and meat that was succulent, though the ginger scallion sauce was way too salty. I enjoy going for dim sum, especially when it's good and Casa Deluz does it really well! Their flavours are on point and there portions are very generous. We went there really early, as they opened, and the large dining room filled up quickly. The place was buzzing with activity. We each ordered our favourite dishes, which included Siu Mai, Bean Curd Roll, Spareribs in Soy Sauce, Chicken Feet, Beef Tripe, and more. Darn, we forgot the Har Gow and Squid! Just kidding. Came here for a birthday celebration during the holidays and they have a stage and large screen at the back that displayed Christmas trees! Very festive! Upon arriving at the restaurant, I noticed that their decor is quite dated but the food for dinner was pretty good/ standard Chinese dishes. Came with a big group so we opted for a combo meal. It came with your expected Chinese coursed dinner items shared family style that includes: suckling pig, lobster, beef cubes, prawns, steamed fish, steamed chicken and more. Food was good and service was okay. We were celebrating a 90th birthday so we asked them to put in an order of longevity buns when we made our reservations which they happily added to our table. Overall, a great spot for some authentic Chinese banquet food shared family style. Don't expect any service from this place unless 1) you know the owner or 2) it's a special occasion and you order a $500+ combo. I've been to this place multiple times (not by choice) and every time it's the same. Food is also so-so. Still don't know why so many people like coming here. There are lots of waitresses and once they deliver the food, don't expect them to return. You gotta wave multiple times and wait about X mins before they give you what you asked for. They also pretend they didn't see you but would totally rush over to the "rich" customers... the ones with red pockets in their hand. We ordered a $200-ish peking duck combo and we only got served twice - when they delivered and when we got the bill. Last time when we booked a room (1 table), we got about 10 servers (including the two loud and annoying "team leads") because it was red pocket time LOL Whenever we go, we have to help "ourselves", help them move dishes around and/or empty our plates. They like using super big plates, which doesnt make sense because it's not like it's full of food. This place is big but also very loud. *This is strictly a wedding reception review* One of my closest friends did his wedding reception here. It was really great to see new and old friends. There was enough space between tables and the main stage was large enough to fit multiple ppl. I would say that the MC was great (Mr. Lee is not contracted by the resto but he was good!) They also have very well maintained speakers (this is not the case at a lot of venues - sometimes you hear crackling and static). The food was solid. I had another friend get married late June 2023 at Paradise Banquet Hall and he also had a chinese multi-course dinner. I think I would give that one the slight edge over Casa Deluz (although Casa Deluz DID have the better tasting suckling pig lol). I also appreciated the italian themed dessert bar at Paradise more than the traditional chinese dessert spread at this place. There was a hiccup at the start of the night because the guests at my table were swapped to multiple tables due to other guests not showing up at their tables. When we sat at our final destination, the servers didn't seem enthusiastic to change out the silverware, cutlery or linens on the table to our dismay. There was a group of elders sitting at the table beforehand and they had peeled a bunch of peanuts (the complimentary nuts), leaving the shells on the plates. They'd also drank from some of the wine glasses and tea cups as well as used some of the linens so we kindly asked some servers to help us reset the table but were met with much resistance. I've heard and read that dim sum is supposed to be good at this resto but I've never personally tried it. Had dim sum here on Friday 2/16 which was the 7th day of the Lunar New Year 年初七人日 which was considered everyone's birthday. The place was quite full even though it is very big. The atmosphere was really festive and joyful. There were several members of the Toronto Police Force on site to give out red envelopes to customers and there was a person dressed up as the God of Riches 財神 to go around and take pictures with customers. They did a great job with the new year celebration. And the restaurant itself is nicely decorated and brightly lit with numerous chandeliers. It is ideal for big banquets with very few pillars. Food in general was very good, not great. Menu was very extensive. Since I did not get a chance to try another dim sum joint in the Toronto area, I cannot really compare. All I know is that I had better dim sum in Richmond, Vancouver not too long ago. We had their shrimp dumplings 蝦餃, Siu Mai 燒賣, steamed buns with two kinds of Chinese sausage 鴛鴦臘腸卷, pan fried lotus root cake 家鄉煎藕餅, steamed rice roll with minced beef 香茜牛肉腸, salt and pepper chicken wings 椒鹽鷄翼, salt and pepper capelin 椒鹽多春魚, pan fried stuffed chilli peppers 煎釀尖椒, pan fried ginger soft cake 薑汁煎軟糕, and mango pudding 魚型杧菓布甸. My favorite was the steamed buns with two kinds of Chinese sausage. They offered us a 10% discount for paying cash. And prices in general were quite reasonable. Solid dim sum. Faves included the shrimp rice roll, pea shoot dumpling, cha siu bao, pan fried bao, the huge siu mai, pan fried turnip cake, and steamed brown sugar cake. Things that were slightly underwhelming were the shrimp dumplings - the wrapper was a little thicker than I'd prefer, and extremely sticky so that it was impossible to pick one out of the steamer basket without tearing the wrapper of the neighboring dumpling. Egg tarts were ok but overly buttery in my opinion. Fried taro dumplings were good but lukewarm (this seems to be a problem at almost all dim sum restaurants I've tried). As with most dim sum restaurants, you need to be assertive to flag down a server to submit your order, request additional utensils, or ask for the bill. read more

Our go-to dimsum place in scarborough, we came here 4 days out of 7. If you are a fan of pork blood, which of course not everyone is, this place has the smoothest and softest pork blood. I think I still prefer my blood a bit firmer though. They have an interesting twist on salted fish fried rice, try it! Siumai is good. Shrimp chives panfried dumpling is good. Chicken feet are good. It was my father in law's birthday that we had invited his relatives to gether here. We were arranged at a small temporary room with moving walls. Outside was having university annual gathering. The music was so loud and ppl were busy, the whole restaurant was noisy. there was an accident that the big speaker fell off. We ordered a dinner set menu. The food was a bit salty and most were meat. They came fast. And we had pre-ordered half little pig, but when I had it, it was like normal BBQ pig. It was not as we expected. After our flight being delayed for 2 hrs we finally got to have a nice meal. We ordered Sui mai, chicken feet, spare ribs, greens, congress, and rice noodles with duck. All was so amazing and flavorful. The Sui mai was so big and plump. It each piece has about 2 pieces of shrimp. The pig blood was really good. The sauce was thick and a but of spice. It was smooth and tender. The greens was freshly grown and super nice. It was blanched in hot water and then add a side of oyster sauce. The duck skin was nice and fatty. It was think and crispy. The juice and flavor marinate on the duck was so delicious and tender. It was almost like fall off the bone. The spareribs are marinated with taro. It was so fresh and delicious. The chicken feet has black fungus. The design and layout of this restaurant is super nice and fancy. I was told by a family friend that the design cost about 100k plus. They have almost over 10 chandelier lights. Nicely lit lighting and windows to brighten up the room. read more

I've only recently come here for Chinese New Year dinner. Prices were higher for the set meals and reservations don't mean a thing. It was Chinatown when I was child. Which means what matter is getting as many customers through as possible lol I don't know what they are like other days but we went with it. Got seated by 830 for our 730 reservation. Anyways the food was good. We ordered an extra chow mein. I miss banquets and sitting with a bunch of people (you need at least 5, 8 is better people) My son loved the crispy pork and the chow mein. Crispy vermicelli noodles with sweet and sour beef - really tasty. I like the way they do the fried vermicelli - keeps it crispy and not soggy. 4/5. Pork stomach - still has a bit of chew and a peppery flavor. 3.5/5. Beef balls, tripe, chicken feet - all pretty standard fare 3/5. Fried shrimp and chives dumplings - really good flavor and exterior crispness 4/5. Overall I think it's an okay place to get dim sum given the price. Lesson learned, my cousin and I should review the dim sum order sheet before we submit the order!! Why?! One of the biggest restaurant for dim sum. I came here with family twice which our party accounted for over 15 people. They offer a wide selection of dim sum and the food was pretty decent. But the customer service was abysmal. They gave our table a receipt instead of the order printout at the beginning of meal. When switching to a smaller plate, they took the dish away to transfer elsewhere rather than doing it at the guest's table. They don't have all the classic dishes. I was looking for preserved egg congee and the chive dumpling which they didn't have. The do have a few more traditional dishes, like the sticky sesame ball and the deep fried mini fish, that apparently are harder to find at other dim sum places. We also ordered the xo stir fried radish cake which wasn't really mushy vs the light crisp of the radish cake when stir fried. I was excited to try the scallop choy dumpling but the wrap was really sticky and the filling wasn't that flavourful. The pumpkin corn congee was mediocre. The har gow was good though. Came here for Mother's Day dinner and chose the a la carte menu which has been shorted to just 20 items or so. The suckling pig with jelly fish was pretty good, Peking duck was just ok - skin was not overly crispy, carrots weren't even cut evenly and had all sorts of weird shapes, and the skin wrapper was seriously thin. Two years ago they used a bao bun for their Peking duck which I really liked but now this thin breaking skin is seriously a downgrade and cheap while their prices went up! Two serving duck is now $78. The stir fry beef is pretty tender and good but their sweet and sour pork is hard today and not very tasty. Efu noodle also had no taste. I get that Mother's Day is busy but for $350, I expect tastier meal. Not worth it. read more

They typically have a daily special that you should inquire about, the last time we were there it was crab lo mein $21. -Atmosphere- As a whole the restaurant looked fancy : nice big tv screen , beautiful chandeliers.. but just as most Chinese restaurants - you should always inspect your seats , table before sitting or leaning on. There were food stains on one of the chairs at our table but luckily as a party of two I could pick and choose my chair :-)! -Service- The customer services was terrible the last time we were here. We came around 2pm on a Sat , there were prob only two other tables there. The lady server was not friendly at all. She kept Indirectly rushing us to order ( ie just stood there while we were deciding). I let her know to give us a few mins then she was no where to be found. Later on while ordering , I also requested for another napkin as mine dropped on the ground earlier. She looked at me like I offended her whole family then said "Ok". Of course she never came back . Ten mins later , I had to wave down the other male sever (who was really nice ) and bought my napkins to me immediately . Service charge is automatically at 11% and hst is on top of the service charge instead of the total which didn't sit well with me. On a final note, 1-2 * for service and 4-5* for the food. Service was extremely poor as we waited more than 30 min and got yelled at when questioned the waitress. Came here on a Monday night and it was completely empty (ok--a couple of tables used). This is a huge banquet hall which can probably fit 800 people with how spacious it is. Service was okay. They helped switch out plates when there were too many scraps on the plate and served the soup portion in the beginning. Food was fine, but there are definitely better restaurants out there. However portions were huge. Absolutely huge. So many leftovers after the meal that you probably wouldn't need to cook for at least 2 days or more. read more

Food was quite good, not too salty (especially after you finish, you aren't dying of thirst like Skyview Fusion) If you get your order in before 11am, you get an early bird discount (best to confirm this when you arrive) Food is pretty good but felt it was slightly pricey? For 12 dishes shared amongst 4 people, the total after tax & tip came to $105. Portions were pretty big though and had leftovers... We had a dinner reservation for 5 at this restaurant on a Saturday night. Glad to see how busy it was with many family dinners and celebrations going on. Been craving for peking duck, this restaurant definitely does not specialize in peking duck. However, we had ordered a few other dishes including the sweet and sour pork, braised grouper/tofu in clay pot, stir fry snow pea with sliced mushroom and plain rice. Because we didn't order a set menu so there was no soup to start, the sweet and sour pork was surprisingly one of my favorites of the night. Everything else was alright, either too salty or too plain. The peking duck was not really crispy, a bit underwhelming and it didn't come in a crepe form but in "baos" which was a bit disappointing as we wanted crepes. The toppings for the peking duck were a bit sad, consists of cucumbers, carrots, green onions, dried Cranberries and sauce. The Cranberries were a bit random but oh well. I here been here once for dim sum and several times during dinner! The servers are super nice, (especially the lady named Anna) and are always willing to recommend dishes for us when we are struggling! For dinner: We've had the lobster, stir fried Chinese kale, sweet and sour pork, fried rice, soy sauce chicken, roast duck with jellyfish etc and they were all good! The only thing I haven't liked here was the beef and pepper stir fry, as that was just mediocre. Otherwise, we've had a great experience here! The portions are big, and the dishes are served with great flavours!! Also, the banquet is very spacious and well lit. There is a big projector screen at the front that shows spectacular views from different locations, dance performances of young adults/guitar performances which make it seem like there is someone performing live! Dim sum is decent for large groups, especially older relatives or friends. They will likely appreciate the classic style of dim sum and the setting of this restaurant. Prices are heftier than other places that I frequent but it's acceptable, especially if it's to please the older family members that do not want anything but traditional. Make sure to make a reservation beforehand since they do get very busy during dim sum hours. Parking is pretty limited in the area by the restaurant but there's plenty of space overall for the mall. I usually drop off the elders at the door and park further away which is a longer walk. While I do enjoy having dim sum at this restaurant, I do not appreciate some of their dinner menu items. Most of the items for dinner is surprisingly sweet and cooked in an unconventional way that maybe I'm not used to nor did I grow up eating this style of cooking. Although I can appreciate different cuisines, I would have preferred if they had written it in their menus to specify those differences. For example, the item on the menu was Ginger and Onion Free Range Chicken 薑蔥走地雞. I expected a plain chicken with the ginger onion sauces on the side but what it really was is soy chicken in a hot pot. I probably shouldn't have assumed they would cook it how I expected from previous experiences with chinese banquet type restaurants but I felt the soy chicken was really off the mark. The same goes for the fish I ordered. The sodium levels of some dishes were very disparaging as well. Everything was moderately flavoured, leaning towards sweet while the lobsters were unusually salty. The staff I had encountered were all very helpful, patient, and understanding. I also do enjoy the cute robot servers despite/especially when they keep getting stuck when sensing the smallest obstacles in front of them. All in all, I probably wouldn't come back for dinner but dim sum is exceptional so I would return for that and the customer service. read more

Huge Chinese restaurant located in Scarborough! Despite its huge size, this place still constantly has a lineup for dimsum so be sure to arrive early! In terms of dimsum in the GTA, this place is slightly above average. It's $3.50 for S/M/L when you order before 11AM (Early bird dimsum special). Tea is $1.50 pp. And tips are already calculated in the total charge (11%). We ordered the typical dimsum fare: Rice rolls with shrimp - good soft rice rolls, large pieces of shrimp Siu mai - humongous pieces! They're a bit dense and stiff. Chicken pie tart - alright, just abalone sauce and a couple pieces of tiny chicken. Would've been much better if it was served warmed. Bun with runny salted egg yolk and lotus paste - mehh, not much salted egg yolk goodness. I prefer these buns sans lotus paste. Mushroom and snow pea leaves dumpling - these were yummy, filled with tonnsss of veg. But oversteamed so the wrapper totally disintegrated. Chiu chow steamed dumpling - average, but also oversteamed. Their service charge of 11% is quite fitting because there really isn't great service here. You pretty much have to chase down a waitress to be able to get anything - be it water refill, your bill, or a lost order. Also, def not service with a smile, but you don't really expect that at most chinese restaurants anyways. Not a bad option for dimsum if you're in the area. I was here for dim sum and have only ever had dim sum at this place so I can only speak to the dim sum experience. Even with all the seating this place was packed and we had to wait about 10 minutes for a seat which was not bad. I did find it a bit unorganized in the waiting area as we were not sure who to speak to and people just stood around everywhere while staff zipped back and forth. Speaking of the staff, I just wanted to give some props to them for keeping things moving quickly and efficiently. They were diligent in getting people to open tables, getting said tables cleared and set up, as well as getting orders and food to the tables quickly. In terms of food, we ordered several staple dim sum dishes as well as a few non traditional dim sum items. The portions for dim sum was fairly large and the taste overall was pretty good though not mind blowing. We also ordered the honey beef short ribs which were meh as well as the roasted duck with rice noodles. The duck was our favourite dish as the meat was so tender and juicy. The plum sauce they served it with was also very tasty and made the duck that much better. I had a good meal here and would not mind coming back. I am not talking about reservations but people who go straight to her and get a table within 5 -10 minutes while there are others waiting patiently for their number to be called. We counted 6 table being cleared and only 1 number being given to those who had a valid number. Reason being is that a parallel system is being run by Cathy. Does management know about this? Casa Deluz Banquet Hall, the newest Chinese restaurant that replaced Regal at Woodside Square. Chandeliers brightly lit the huge dining room area to the point of blinding. I might need sunglasses. Early Bird Special Dim Sum $2.80 all sizes before 11 am seems to bring everyone here to try out this new place. If you want to take advantage of this special, come early! They opens at 8 am. Dinner though is a different story. At 9 pm Friday, the restaurant was empty. Dinner menu has most of the traditional Cantonese dish available. Chicken with Onion and Mushroom ($12.88) 磨菇葱爆雞球 Chinese Zucchini with Dried Scallop and Mushroom ($14.88) 瑤柱冬菇絲扒節瓜甫 Portion and taste were both surprisingly decent. Even the chicken dish has quite good wok har (fresh from the wok). Casa Deluz is a pretty good choice if you have a big group as there are a lot of big tables. But prepare to pay a higher price for the experience. Service though a little awkward for a higher end Chinese restaurant at this price point, Staff needs a lot of training to be up to standard. read more

Always delicious dim sum, best place to satisfy your cravings. The staffs are always very friendly from the meet and greet to serving your food to paying your bill. My favourite is their honey beef ribs and stuffed hot peppers! Delicious! read more
