Very average Tex Mex restaurant that many Pflugerville residents flock to, due to limited competition in this specific area. It's surprisingly busy and after waiting up to 30 minutes for a table, it's that much more disappointing to get mediocre food, especially since the cost doesn't compensate for it. I ordered the Chimichanga, which wasn't fried, and came with just unseasoned ground beef inside. It was smothered in yellow cheese sauce, which tasted like a bunch of yellow American cheese. So it was basically a cheeseburger in burrito form. My wife's enchiladas weren't much to write home about either. Fortunately, my son enjoyed his cheeseburger. If you're willing to drive an extra 10 minutes in any direction of this restaurant, I'm sure you'll find something better. read more

Earlier this week my friend, my service animal and I stopped by Casa Garcias-Pflugerville for breakfast and as soon as we walked into the restaurant the host at the counter requested that I show him an ID for my service animal. I continued to inform the host that service animal ID cards are not real (fake and often bought on amazon) nor are they legally required. He informed me that he was only doing his job by respecting restaurant policy on service animals; a policy that is fraudulent and illegal. I asked to speak to a manager. The manager, Ruth, approached the counter and asked me what the problem was. I proceeded to inform her that being asked for a service animal ID and having an internal policy that says as much is not only illegal and hinders my right to an equitable experience but that federal law states that service animals have to be permitted in all areas that are open to customers. Ruth, then proceeded to tell me that she is also to respect restaurant policy. I then shared that not only am I a service animal handler but that I am also an ADA coordinator and am fully knowledgeable on legal matters pertaining to my rights under the ADA. Ruth, then held up a finger in my face to tell me to hush as she picked up the phone and proceeded to speak to someone completely ignoring my friend and I. I do not know who Ruth was on the phone with but as soon as she got off the phone she grabbed two restaurant menus and instructed us to follow her to be seated. As we were walking to our table a thin, latino man wearing glasses and a hair net walked from behind the bar and approached my friend and I asking us to leave. I, again, informed them I had the right to be served and would be so. This man, whom I did not get the name of, repeatedly called me "aggressive" and told me and my "stupid dog" to "go home stupid jailbird." I regret not getting the bartender's name to put in my ADA complaint. Absolutely disgusting-illegal-fraudulent-emotionally harmful behavior. No accountability nor an apology was received by myself or my friend. read more

I've been hearing about this place ever since I first moved to Pflugerville, but would always visit the Rio Grande for Tex Mex instead. Decided to finally give it a try now that the Rio Grande is gone. It was a pretty decent experience. Our waitress was all over the place and came off a little bit rude, but nothing worth complaining about. The flautas were probably the best thing we ate. The queso flameado was very greasy and it was served only with 4 tortillas which was not nearly enough. The regular Chile con queso was bland and would not order it again. It was disappointing that their chips are not made there since they do make their own tortillas. Their margaritas were forgettable. Might go back based on the convenient location and that they're usually not too busy, but there's so many better Tex Mex places. read more

Ordered take out. The cocktail Cameron was too sweet for me, I didn't like the huge whole shrimp in it as I like to have a little bite of everything on the chips. Menudo barely has any hominy and had completely spilled over in the bag leaving a huge mess for us when we got home. They forgot to give us chips with our guacamole and when we drove back to store they told us we had to pay for the chips. What? It was 12oz of guac. The manager then came out and told my boyfriend that he would get chips. But no other type of customer service. Just oh well tough for you attitude. On Wednesday October 29th I was told I had to leave Casa Garcia's in Pflugerville because I didn't have a card showing my service dog was certified. According to federal disability law when I go into a restaurant, or anywhere else, with my service dog, they are allowed to ask me if she is a service dog and what task she performs. They may not ask me anything else. I spoke with the manager who said it was company policy that a service dog must have a card showing they are "certified" he said there was nothing he could do, it was company policy. When I asked to see the policy he gave me a business card with the information for the corporate office. I called them and the woman who answered told me the manager was right, it was against company policy to let a service dog in their restaurants without the card. When I asked to speak with someone about it I was told there was no one, that I needed to send an email. I did so including a link to the ADA website where the rules and regulations regarding service dogs are clearly stated. I have received no response. I am writing this review in hopes that people will not visit any of the Casa Garcia's locations until they no longer discriminate against the disabled. I will leave this one star review up until they are complying with all Federal laws read more

I paid for a large chips and queso and requested salsa for the chips and queso. I've ordered this prior and had no issues. However when the food was checked we didn't receive any. Went back and requested the salsa and was charged for something that comes with chips and large queso. If you're going to over charge someone salsa that you give out for free to your guest that eat in then what is the issue. We paid for a large queso. Make this make sense. The dining room is generally crowded. In normal times, this is a good sign. In COVID times, it means - Buster, you are eating outside. Last night we went to Casa Garcia for dinner. Previously all I've had here was breakfast, dinner was a different experience. Waiter was attentive which was good. I ordered the Steak a la Mexicana. I was asked how I wanted my steak, which I responded with medium. Steak was thin, tough, well done and had a lot of gristle. I came back since then for then for the first time since having my baby, and they had a sign saying short staffed. Stopped in for a late lunch today at Casa Garcia's in P'ville. I absolutely used to love this place and ate there every Friday. The ambiance was cozy, comfortable and homey. Enticing aromas assailed your nostrils the moment you walked in the door. The food was the best Tex-Mex in town. They have now expanded to twice the size and sadly the inviting ambiance has totally disappeared and been replaced with an austere, sterile nothingness typical of run-of-the-mill restaurants. The ice tea glass was filled to the brim with ice, leaving very little space for the tea which was as tasteless as colored water. The anticipation of the savory flavors of the Stuffed Avocado plate was dashed and turned out to be tasteless as well. Nothing could bring it to life, not salt, not hot sauce, not even salsa. so I went into Casa Garcia this morning. I go in with my Dutch Bros coffee, which they have allowed me to bring in before but today they didn't allow do to policy well after that I had ordered two breakfast tacos when I bit into my breakfast tacos I have felt something weird in my mouth. I spit it and it was a big piece of cardboard nothing was done about the situation. All they could say was sorry so I no longer be going to this restaurant again.
