This was the first and last time I will ever eat at this place. The food just being so so was doable. But, the flying bugs around the bar area where I ate wasn't doable. There were little bugs flying and landing on things around the bar area. Once they get in it's hard to get them out. No telling what they really landed on. Love the ambiance and the food. I've eaten there several times over the years. 3 years ago, this would have been 5 stars. We've ordered twice at drive through lately and the taste, portions, and overall quality has been surprisingly lacking. I met Gus a few years ago. He sat with family and told stories about how he gets his menu items and has eaten everything. I have a feeling he's not as involved anymore. Woke up this Memorial Day with a craving for tacos, so the fiancée and I came down the road to Casa Grande, such a consistently good restaurant, with helpful, friendly service. We were across town and hungry and lucked up on this spot! It was busy at lunch on a Thursday...good sign!! I like the decorations there! Very festive! I ordered a big beer and some cheese dip. We stopped by for lunch after church. Our group had mixed feelings about Casa Grande. Compared to other restaurants within the same company - this isn't my favorite. The salsa and table side guacamole were flavorful and delicious but the food became sloppy after that. They had a large party of at least 30 at the same time and I think the kitchen was overwhelmed. Some of the members in our group had cold food made incorrectly while others were hot and perfectly made. Usually my chips are crispy, even with the cheese sauce, but today I could tell they were just trying to get rid of food. The chips that were in the bag were crispy, but all the chips in the nachos were limp, even the chips that had little to no cheese sauce. I asked for no lettuce and they gave me extra lettuce, wow. I have been going to this restaurant for years but today I see there is new management who is more concerned about pleasing buddies than fairness to customer. I stood at the counter for ten minutes to be served while his buddies stepped in front of me. My sons pulled me away when they saw the frustration in my face and they knew what was coming next. Loved this place before we even entered! With the cool decor outside and the music playing in the parking lot we knew we were in for a treat. When we entered my eyes traveled from one area to another, admiring the use of color and lights in the decor. The service was quick and pleasant and the food to die for. They started us out with a bowl of warm crispy tortilla chips to munch on and two bowls of salsa. Really liked how the tacos were served in a little stand to keep them upright, now I have to decide if I preferred the crispy shell or the soft shell. My husband had the burrito supremo so we shared it and the tacos so we could both sample the others meal. This is a nice place to go, they could use some more attentive servers & cashiers. We go here fairly often but lately the pick up food in particular has been less than savory. Not only that but the presentation in a tin just sliding around isn't very good. The amounts & the taste of some items have made me call & complain & that takes a lot. Great atmosphere usually full of customers. If you want a hint of Mexican food the decor & the bar music will pull you in. Ask questions, I can't stand liquid cheese, I love wet burritos that are fat enough to half for later. Not here though they're rather small & not rolled at all. Ate here yesterday with my girlfriend. I ordered a quesadilla and she orders a chicken burrito. I told them that I want my quesadilla to be dry and not wet. When I got my food it was very wet and sloppy. My chips were very oily and my salsa was watery. Food was overpriced and drinks were watered down. Been a favorite for long time.. SERVICE TONIGHT SUCKED Ordered 2 meals to go. Husband went 4 miles to pick up meals. When he returned home package only contained one meal missing his. Called the restaurant to let them know that there was a missing meal woman I spoke to recalled having taken the order earlier said bring their receipt and they would take care of it. Husband went back another 4 miles with the receipt. When he got to the restaurant they wanted to check their cameras to verify that he had not received 2 meals. Manager stated it looked on their cameras as though the meals were packed properly. Please why would we lie about a burrito and beans. I received phone call from woman at the restaurant while husband was at the restaurant asking me to take a picture of what we received and send to them via cell. Again! ARE U FREAKIN KIDDING ME? No longer a favorite ..never treated this way over mexican food.!!!!! Or any other U just lost family as customers and I will share this nightmare memory with others. So we get there at 7:15 party of 4 waited about 20 minutes the place was jammed packed. We started with the Chorizo dip and my wife and I had the Texas Fajitas for two, this is the first time in my life that I've had fajitas that there's been more steak, chicken, and shrimp than peppers and onions; actually there was more shrimp than anything else. Owned by the same family that own the Marietta DIner and the other restaurants the plates are bigger than the tables. You definitely get your monies worth there. If you go away hungry you didn't eat for a week. The service was top notch the waiter kept our glasses filled visited the table 5-6 times over the course of the meal and was extremely pleasant. Also we had a visit by not 1 but 2 managers checking in to make sure we were happy. The folks who own the restaurant group and family took the Marietta Diner and ran with that blueprint and it works. Give great service, more food than 5 people could eat, and a menu the size of a phone book.....for you youngins a phone book was what we used before the interweb to look stuff up. They had a band not a mariachi band, but a regular band and they were really good overall it was the best bang for the buck. We went here once when they first opened and would have give 3 stars then too. As with other Marietta Family Restaurants, they're about quantity not quality. Food is under-seasoned and unremarkable. My burrito al pastor was mostly rice with a few chewy chunks of pork. It came dry with no sauce, cheese or refried beans. The side was fries...yes, fries. Husband's fajitas were average. We had a great time! Our server Melanie (hope I spelled that right) was absolutely AMAZING. She immediately guessed my diet by my order which put me at ease to know that she would enter it in correctly. She also had everything to us super quickly with an awesome attitude even though it was very busy. To top it all off, I accidentally left my to go box on the table. This place IS AMAZING . I have drove past here many times and finally gave it a try.I called ahead and the lady on the phone seemed clueless or new , not sure but she was nice. I order the Molcajete for two. I will say the portion size is small for the $36 I paid. But everything was juicy ,hot and cooked perfect. It even came with fall off the bone ribs !!!
