The waiter was nice but the waiting for drinks for 20 -30 mins due to just having one bartender for a packed restaurant is ridiculous! Ordered our food, waitress apologized for the wait on drinks and blames the bartender. So we order our food, already wondering how long would the food take. It took 35 + to get our food , it was literally just a party of 2!! And 2 fish tacos each!! First time going there def wouldn't go back. The decor in this spot gave dive bar vibes. We were originally seated close to the kitchen and the view was messy so we asked to move. I liked that the drinks are reasonably priced. I had the organic margarita which was good. Our server was also nice and gave good recs. I had a steak taco and chicken tortilla soup. The chicken in the soup was off and did not taste fresh. Best food ever!!! Starting from the warm complimentary chips and salsa. Followed by the fried chicken burrito with the tortilla served on the side with a creamy cilantro dressing... amazing!! The taste was just as pleasant as the service. Our bartender, Mila, recommended all the good stuff. My date and I ate very nice portions of our meals and even had leftovers. Walked in here after having a couple drinks around other local businesses around 9:30pm. There was absolutely no worker to be seen. There were customers but 0 employees. After standing at the hostess stand for almost 5 minutes, we started to walk around only to find all of the employees in the hallway talking, some even sitting on the ground on their phone. We asked if they were open (we knew they were open) and they said yes and showed us to a table. We ordered 1 beer, 1 margarita, 2 veggie tacos, a side of black beans and guac and queso. What did we actually receive?! 1 beer and 2 veggie tacos. Our waitress, Jahmina, was absolutely terrible. She only came to our table twice; to take our order and to bring our check. Never once asked us if we needed a refill of water. We had to approach the bar to ask the bartender where our waitress was and we wanted to cancel the rest of our food since we had 1 taco each (after waiting over 15 minutes) and our waitress straight up told us she forgot about the other items. I am not satisfied. Our drinks didn't arrive until after our food did. We were going to leave the restaurant because it was taking so long but the waiter decided to go ahead and bring out our food. Not sure what he was waiting for. The $5 margaritas took forever to come. They were flavored well but it seems that they forgot to add the tequila. It was flavored juice. But hey maybe they remove the tequila in order to make sure the drinks are discounted at $5. I wasn't able to make any dent in the chicken fajitas because the chicken had a strange taste to me. The rice wasn't cooked well (there were a lot of hard pieces) and the black beans were a miss completely. My partner says the tacos were 'meh'. They were lukewarm; the steak had no flavor. The Corner Taqueria has been a staple in the Smyrna tacos and tequila scene since around 2012. They are located just inside Smyrna Market Village near the main entrance off Atlanta Road and are connected to Zucca Pizza. Corner Taqueria is a solid neighborhood spot that is more bar than restuarant, as the first thing you see when you walk in is the bar...where they have more tequila choices than food options. Additionally, they have several TV's lining the walls throughout the place, so it is definitely a place to catch the game! To be honest, if it wasn't for the Dos Equis "XX" on the wall, I would not know this place was a taqueria and focused on Mexican cuisine. This isn't a bad thing though, as I really enjoy the atmosphere, décor and layout! The menu is Mexican inspired and features the standards such as quesadillas, salads, queso, guacamole, nachos, rice, beans, burritos, tacos and a few house specialties. We did get chips and salsa shortly after being sat. They delivered crisp, well seasoned and tasty chips along with two salsas, one red and one green. When we ordered drinks, we tossed in an order of Queso Fundido, which was melted chihuahua cheese with peppers and chorizo served in a cast iron skillet alongside flour tortillas. While I am usually a fan of fundido and expect it to be thicker than your average queso, this version was tough to get through. It was the first queso I have ever had to cut to get onto my chip or tortilla. The cheese was melted, but I guess started to cool quickly, even with the cast iron, and it became a solid piece...not the best by far. For our dinners, we both got a couple of tacos. They have 10 varieties of tacos and between us we got (2) steak, (1) chicken and (1) fried mahi. The tacos were well dressed and filled nicely. The steak was good and well seasoned and the fish was thick, well breaded and the Sriracha tartar sauce was something I never knew I needed to experience! The chicken taco was good, a tad dry, but overall a tasty bite. While I just sipped on my water, my partner did get something from the bar, an Iceberg, which is a beer with a scoop of margarita in it. Never had it before and last night was not the last time I will have that simple yet fantastic combination! Service was solid. Our server was triple sat at the time we got there and while it was not the quickest service, she made sure to come by as often as possible to keep us updated and to apologize. She did an excellent job given the situation! Overall, Corner Taqueria is a great place in a fantastic location! We will definitely be back for lunch, dinner or game days! read more

Came here after a staff meeting with coworkers on a Friday afternoon around 1pm. Not too crowded...just how I like it! lol We've been in the area before and it's usually pretty busy around lunch. We had the queso, which I devoured (as seen in pic lol) and the following tacos for lunch: veggie, grilled mahi, and chicken (?) - can't remember what the third one was, but it was all delicious and very filling. Had to take an extra taco to go. The waitress was patient, knowledgeable about the menu, and customer oriented. Update: in response to the owner's comment I'd like to note that the additional table offered was a high table top with barstools (so 2 feet taller than our table and it couldn't be pushed together) and it was around 5 feet away from our large table. So the couple people seated there wouldn't be able to communicate with the rest of the group over the noise, which would have negated it being a team activity. I don't really understand why pushing together same-height tables was not an option. I tried to communicate what we needed but the host said that was the only table available. I didn't want ti be a Karen about it and demand the manager. Thanks I came here with a 10 person group after a rec league kickball game recently and we had a slightly annoying experience. The main thing that was frustrating- I had called earlier in the day to see about making a reservation and they don't take any which I understand. However, they said if I had a group of 4-10 for the time frame we would be there, it should be ok since it was post-dinner rush. Well we get there and the host is super confused and even though the restaurant is half empty they have no idea where to put our group. It was starting to look like we'd have to go somewhere else until some other workers walked up and mentioned this one larger table that is mostly a big booth but has room for chairs on the outside as well. It was a super super tight squeeze. I had no room for my legs the entire time honestly and it just irks me a bit that we could see tons and tons of empty tables and there wasn't some sort of protocol in place to take a larger group. Keep in mind, the corner taqueria was working with GoKickball to be our designated "league bar"... even though they couldn't seat the minimum size of a team? It just doesn't make any sense. When I ordered myself and daughter corn tortillas the server asked about gluten intolerances and suggestions to stay away from which I thought was very proactive. The food is not good. My friends and I ordered a calamari taco, steak taco, nachos, and burrito. All the flavors were very subpar. The calamari in the taco was spoiled and tasted very fishy. It also had a blue looking mold on it. Unfortunately we had not noticed it until after we had bitten into the taco. The steak in the taco had little to no flavor and tasted primarily like cheese. The burrito also did not taste good either unfortunately. The best thing we had was the nachos which were ok overall. The prices are also pretty high despite the food quality. Love this place!! Great food, good drinks, easy in the wallet. Check the board for specials and what are the best nights to go back. Have been around the menu and I love everything I eat here. The meats are prepared right, everything has great flavor and there is something for everyone. The veggie tacos are excellent!! They are extremely efficient so even if it's busy the wait isn't usually too long. The servers are accommodating and they have indoor and outdoor bar style seating. I love this place. I came here 3x in the past 7 days because it is amazing and I am obsessed There are so many options on the menu, I was able to try totally different food and drinks each time. Appetizer wise, the queso is a must, it is delicious and comes with jalapeños on the side, and the guac is nice and fresh as well. All of the tacos are delicious, but I think my favorite is the buffalo chicken. They are the perfect size, and full of meat and toppings! The burrito bowls are massive and delicious with so many options for toppings as well. I love all of the margaritas, and love that frozen is an option!! After a breakdown in service at Atkins Park Tavern across the street (even after making reservations, we still had to wait for a table and we never saw our drink orders, so we walked out), we found ourselves at The Corner Taqueria where, on this particular day, service was exceptionally better (compared to Atkins Park). We had a quick, satisfying lunch here. This is a casual taqueria and bar that opened in 2012 in Smyrna Market Village. Parking is limited in front of the restaurant, but there are plenty of spaces elsewhere on the property. The restaurant is spacious and ideal for groups large and small. There's a jukebox, music, TVs, and an enclosed patio. The atmosphere is laid back and lively. I'm not sure if there are separate lunch and dinner menus. I don't think there are. When we visited, there were eight starters priced at $5.99 (queso) to $10.99 (smothered nachos) each, five entree-sized salads starting at $5.99 each, 10 different kinds of tacos at $3.99 (pulled pork) to $4.99 each (calimari, grilled shrimp), $7.99 burritos and burrito bowls, entrees like alambre (steak and shrimp skewers) and steak and chicken fajitas for $11.99 to $14.99 each, and quesadillas ($7.99-11.99 each). There's also a kids menu with under-$5 items. I had the blacked mahi ($11.99) which consisted of a 6-ounce blackened fillet of mahi topped with The Corner Taqueria's homemade mango salsa and served with a side of red rice and green beans. For a relatively healthy dish, I thought it was tasty and enjoyable. The fish seemed fresh enough and cooked appropriately (decent texture and flavor) and I liked the yummy mango salsa. The rice and green beans were basic, but nicely seasoned with just enough salt on the green beans. Admittedly, while I didn't think my dish was spectacular -- it leaned more towards 3 stars ("A-OK") than 4 -- I'm bumping The Corner Taqueria up for their service. Plus, you can rarely go wrong with complimentary chips and salsa. Here, they give you two salsas: green and red and they, along with the chips (warm, crispy, crunchy, and relatively thick), are flavorful and addictive. The hostess and our server were friendly and efficient and our orders came out from the kitchen fast. I came with my coworkers, most of whom got tacos. One person got a quesadilla. WOW! I just wanted to say that we love this place. My wife and I meet up with my brother pretty regularly at this spot and love it. The food is great - my wife gets the "Al Alambre" (Steak and Shrimp Skewers) every time we go and it is seasoned and cooked to perfection. I also highly recommend the "Blackened Mahi" and if you are into fajitas, their chicken fajitas are the most flavorful in the area in my opinion. The overall vibe of the restaurant is fun. Sometimes dance music is played, sometimes radio bops from the past. Sometimes it might not particularly be the sounds my wife and I are into but even then it seems that everyone in the restaurant is enjoying themselves and having a great time. The restaurant was decorated festively for the holidays and the mood matched the holiday spirit. Additionally, I'd like to shout out the community that surrounds the place - if you haven't, go to Jonquil on any night and you will see locals walking about having a blast. However, the food and the ambiance is not why I have chosen to give The Corner Taquiera a 5 Star review. The reason would have to be the service from waitress Kiera B. We are met with the same level of bubbly energy from her every single time we go here. She is knowledgeable of the food, friendly, and attentive to the tables. Whatever area she is responsible for during the night, the tables are laughing, eating great food usually recommended by Kiera, and having a great time, which, in my opinion, is the point of going out to eat. To me, that experience is made possible with amazing waitresses like her. If she hasn't already received a raise, she should, as it just makes sense to retain people as charming and hard working as she is. When I complained to the manager, he says "we keep it at 175 degrees... thats our standard." Stopped by TCT for dinner with my other half on a busy Saturday night. We had been to the other restaurants in the market but didn't love them so were looking forward to trying The Corner Taqueria! Upon arrival, we were seated quickly and our server was prompt, quick, and personable. We ordered a strawberry margarita pitcher and the guac/queso combo as an app. There was a misunderstanding with our margarita but it was corrected immediately and our server was super apologetic. Our appetizer was great and we devoured it. Once our correct margarita pitcher did arrive, we were happy with the result and it was tasty as all get out! Be careful though because although it's yummy, the alcohol is still in there and creeps up on you lol! We both ordered tacos for dinner. I ordered the steak taco and the shrimp taco. This food tasted authentic. Fresh ingredients, beautiful presentation, and wonderful server. I ended up eating a little of my husband's quesadilla and it was DIVINE!
