Bocarones with a super yummy salad / escabeche

Casa Leo was such a great experience and I need more people to go. Everything I tried was genuinely delicious and felt really thoughtfully done. The crudo was a standout for me, with this almost batata brava-style sauce on top, peppers, and really great olive oil. It was such a unique take and honestly one of the best crudos I've had. The chef studied with master paella chefs in Barcelona and you can tell. I'd never had paella made with noodles and cuttlefish before and it was so interesting and different in the best way. I heard people come back just for that dish, and I totally get why. We also loved the beans, which were snap pea-like but not quite, super fresh and addictive. Even my boyfriend who usually skips vegetables kept reaching for them and we're still thinking about them. The gamba al ajillo was another highlight. Classic flavors but with a twist that tasted like brandy or something slightly sweet and caramelized, almost like ignited alcohol notes in the best way. It elevated the whole dish. And the flan was incredible. I usually don't order flan because my grandma's is hard to beat, but this one had this subtle Caribbean warmth, almost like cardamom and orange. The texture was perfect. I still want to go back and try the Basque cheesecake next. Overall, 5 out of 5. Perfect for date night, a group dinner, or just a really good meal you'll think about after.

Gorgeous interior, friendly service and exceptional cheesecake! Unfortunately the rest of the food was just okay.

Casa Leo is Los Feliz's BEST new restaurant. The food is remarkable, the staff is so kind, the design is beautiful, and I've loved every time I've been here. Chef Josh is just so talented. Absolutely add this to your list- you'll love it!

The food at Casa Leo is made with such intention and mastery of flavor and artistic presentation. Every item blew me away with flavor and freshness. I felt like we were in Spain! What a perfect contribution to our neighborhood this is my new favorite spot. Do not sleep on the cheesecake. It is absolutely beyond. Run don't walk to Casa Leo!!!!!

Casa Leo is a really special restaurant, with incredible food, a beautiful ambiance, and the sweetest staff. We've been coming here since their soft opening, and always have the best experience. There's always a table open for walking in and everything from brunch to dinner is amazing. It's really a gem of a restaurant to have on Hillhurst and everyone needs to try it! Also if little doms is full, walk across the street for an amazing meal!

Small place but great ambiance…read moreand even better service and to wrap it all up is a gorgeous meal Ordered Kale Salad: 3/5 - If you need a good palette cleanser then this is a good one to have. You can't really go wrong with a the kale version of a house salad however there are plenty of other options you could order Scallop Crudo: 5/5 - So incredibly blown away by this? I don't think I've scallop this good in years. Melts in your mouth, the sauce is light but perfectly pairs with the fish. I could not get over this one Gambas Al Ajillo: 5/5 - If I could lick the plate clean publicly and without discrimination I would've. The sauce reminded me of some of the best pasta ive ever had. The shrimp was big and well marinated, oh what fun this one was! It was a crime this didn't have more bread to soak it in. I'm not just leaving money on the table, I'm leaving bliss. Potatoes: 5/5 - These were really good! I loved the heat this had and the sauce to go with it. The seasoning great, the skin was crispy but still a soft moist potato inside. These were great to share. Paella Mariscos - 4.5/5 - After everything we had this was a fairly good portion for 3 people even though it says it serves 2 (I still stand by the 2 serving if you don't have much tapas). With that said I think this was a little more on the simpler side when it came to flavor. You could tell it wasn't trying to do too much while still letting you know she's the star of the show. There was a good amount of seafood all of which was cooked really well. The rice was perfect and the sauce ratio was great as well. I had some the next day and it was even better. I really think those scallops just stayed in my mind the whole night. Bread Pudding - 4/5 - I really appreciated the creativity behind reinventing the bread pudding! It was like a cinnamon roll esc type which was a fun but not blow me out of the water dessert. With that said everything on there looked so good so my eye is on the key lime next. Wine: The Albarino was great! I've never heard of it but was a fan favorite. Paired great with all the food. For 3 the total came out to $280 (with tip) which wasn't that bad. Service: 5/5 I forgot our servers name but he was so sweet! He gave us his recs, checked in on us frequently and was accommodating. I also feel like he was serving a lot of tables so his service was stellar! Ambiance: 5/5 The place is tinnyyy but man I am obsessed with the interior. Its swanky without it being pretentious. Intimate feeling but can feel the atmosphere. Not sure what the noise level was like inside, we were outside (two tables on the sidewalk), but it seems like it could get a little loud. Parking: N/A - Its a prime spot on ventura, only metered so...can't really knock the place off that. Really excited to come back here! Hopefully in the near future!

There was ample al fresco seating, as well as atmospheric, candlelit dining inside. Menu items were reminiscent of my time in Spain and transported me back to my time there. What we ordered for the table, in order of preference: 1. Patatas bravas - fabulously crispy and flavorful. 2. Sardines - always a favorite, and the lemon zest contrasted nicely with the brininess of the fish. 3. Gambas - prawns were perfectly grilled and fresh. 4. Croquetas - love anything fried or crispy, so this was a classic choice. 4. Sardine toast - again, the lemon zest offset the fishiness beautifully. 5. King trumpet mushrooms - so umami, and almost tasted like steak. 6. The steak - loved the bright sauce that accompanied it. 7. Arroz - perhaps because I was expecting more of a paella dish, this one came out a little more textureless than I would've preferred. Decent flavor; just didn't entirely enjoy the mushy texture. 8. Morcilla de cebolla - I ordered this wanting to give blood sausage another try, but it's still not a favorite dish of mine and would not reorder. Overall, most dishes were enjoyable, well made and presented. We also enjoyed a carafe of basque wine, which complemented our meal very nicely. I thought the service was pretty on point and they would always come around to check on us and always come over to fill our water and wine when it was empty. We ordered the special of the day steak, charred cabbage, head on prawns, starter(all four) with olives, cheese, cured meats and bread, calamari toast, and fritters and another bread dish to dip it into the prawns sauce. I would say that the fritters were a bit disappointing, it really could use an aioli sauce to go with it to really enhance this dish. It was just missing something and I think an aioli sauce could really help. My personal favorite was the calamari toast. Something about the way they cooked the calamari was really good on the taste and the how tender it was to eat. The toast soaked it in all the sauce too and I just really loved this dish. The head on prawns had a good sauce to go along with it and as recommended by the waiter that it is nice to eat bread with their sauce. Prawns were good as well. Surprisingly my 2nd favorite dish was their charred cabbage. It doesn't actually sound that special but the beans and the cabbage were really nice. I just think you have to try it as I can't even describe why it was so good to me haha. The special of the day steak was pretty good as well. If I have to complain, it be nice if they asked us how we would like it to be cooked because it did feel like it was a bit well done on our end but taste wise we thought it was good. The dessert: Didn't care for the Portuguese egg tart all but there's a very high standard for the egg tart but I did really enjoy my passion fruit sorbet that they provided and it was a huge scoop. Overall, I wouldn't mind coming back and really did enjoy my time here.

I went last night with a few friends and we had a really lovely time. It feels like the restaurant has had a noticeable upgrade, both in vibe and overall experience. We ordered seven dishes plus dessert and left feeling full, but not overly stuffed. Here's what we tried: Bub & Grandma's Baguette -- $6 Roasted Baby Golden Beet Salad -- $12 Blue Lake Green Bean Tempura -- $11 Ahi Tuna Crudo -- $15 Grilled Oyster Mushrooms -- $13 Pork Schnitzel -- $30 Spring Pea Cannelloni (special) -- $17 Basque Cheesecake -- $9 Overall, everything was delightful. The standouts for me were the Pork Schnitzel -- a great portion, well cooked, served with roasted potatoes -- the Blue Lake Green Bean Tempura, which were light, fun, and super snackable, and the Ahi Tuna Crudo, which was familiar but really refreshing. The Spring Pea Cannelloni was very pretty, but the flavors didn't feel totally harmonious to me. There is a small parking lot in front, which is always appreciated, and a nice outdoor patio that was especially enjoyable with the current warm weather. I would recommend eating here as the food is tasty and trying out the daily specials. Be sure to get her early to grab a parking spot or you will be parking on the street. I just noticed on their website that they are currently closed for renovations. I would suggest following them for a future re-opening date.

The service was friendly, attentive, and never rushed, which made the whole meal feel relaxed and enjoyable. The food was just as impressive, it was very flavorful, and clearly made with care. Every dish we tried was delicious and beautifully prepared, and you could really tell the kitchen takes pride in what they serve. What stood out most was the combination of great food and truly kind service. It's the kind of place you leave already thinking about when you'll come back. Highly recommend!

(It's an easy walking distance to the Pantages and parking at or across from the restaurant is half the cost of parking on Vine.) The patio is beautiful and amazingly quiet for being so close to Cahuenga. The food is fresh, beautifully seasoned, and delicious. The menu is varied enough that it has options for vegetarians and vegans too.I've never been anything less than delighted with anything I've ordered. When you're there, do yourself a huge favor and order the carrots (listed as the roasted farm vegetable). It may be my favorite dish anywhere.
